Tim Allen Grunt grrunnt Grunnt POWER!
Oh yeah.. I really like my Dewalt 20v Brushless tools. the only thing i never liked about the whole setup as a Pro was the 2.0Ah batteries that came with stuff. I ended up getting a 4.0Ah with one tool i had bought and liked it. So decided to get a 5.0Ah. 1 Brushless tools are pretty energy efficient, but couple it with this 5.0ah battery and damn thing just built and install 23 cabinet boxes and still had half a charge left. that's about 40 screws per cab. ranging in length from 3/4 inch to 2 inch for anchor screws. so about 1000 screws. on 1/2 a charge. I would have easily ate 2 charges on the 2.0ah. with the average life span of a battery being 500 charges this bugger should last me a good long while. as my 2.0's bite the dust i will replace them with more of these. you cannot go wrong with Grunt grunt grunt.. MORE POWER!!!

My initial review was mistaken, so here's an update and a user tip
Quote: "Dead on arrival, could not resuscitate. I expect more from Dewalt." Ummm. My bad. The issue was both of my Dewalt chargers were shutting down before they transferred any juice to the cells, so I assumed the battery was at fault. Both had charged my 2Ah battery just fine. What didn't occur to me until a few minutes ago is that I'd plugged the chargers into a power strip with a rather limited ability to supply current to the hefty 5Ah battery. I tried again with a charger plugged directly into the outlet and the battery is charging just fine. So 100% user error. I'm nearly sure the tiny print in the instructions says something about this...

I thought it was extravagant, but then I got a reciprocating saw.
So I started with Dewalt 20v impact impact driver, then drill, then flashlight... then I bought the reciprocating saw ok... now I get why the 5 amp hour batteries exist. Works great in the circular saw also.... great system!

Best 5Ah battery EVER!
Bought this to power my new dewalt XR Impact Wrench. Changed out struts and shocks on my Armada. This battery truly delivered, powered through the job and still had 3 green bars. I should've gotten one of these when I got dewalt hand saw. Great battery that lasts, and has plenty of power. Best of all it can be used on any dewalt 20Volt power tool. It only took me an hr to fully charge this puppy. Good job from an honest American Company

Lots of power compared to my old batteries.
I was pleased when the battery fit the DEWALT DCA1820 18v to 20v Adapter. I was a bit confused in trying to find batteries for my aging 18v tools. I just can't justify buying all new tools that are 20v. Yes, I have read that DEWALT is trying to herd customers into more sales by labeling their new tools as 20v even though they are really working at 18v like the old ones - and that they are not plug and play with the 18v line. They are being a bit dishonest but in general I love Dewalt tools and it makes sense to try to stick with the same brand rather than have too many different batteries and charges. Previously, I purchased the kit with the two DCB203 batteries and they really don't cut it with either the brad nailer, or the 6 1/2" Dewalt circular saw - which takes the most juice of all my cordless tools. And for God sake don't make the mistake of thinking you can go cheap and get the same quality with a replacement battery. I can only run my impact drills off of ones I recently purchased and even those don't last long. Also, it is true the adaptor is poorly designed and I use a screwdriver to pry it off - but in general I try to leave the adaptor on one tool and not take it off often as it is a bit of a pain. Such an amatuer mistake and not something I would expect from Dewalt. However, I am pleased to think of what I can do with a 5.0Ah battery and not the little 2.0Ah batteries.

I Thought About Buying A Knock-off But Why Buy Myself Extra Trouble?
DeWalt battery powered tools have been a real game changer for me. At my age, hauling around, lifting, and sometimes even starting gas powered tools has become more difficult. Give me the lighter, push button tools that are easier to maneuver and don't require a cord. When I work for hours outside each day in hot and humid Southwest Florida, even keeping track of a power cord can become an effort. These Dewalt 20V MAX XR 5.0Ah batteries are the best out there. They are easy to charge, hold their charge longer, and provide the power I need to accomplish tougher jobs. I dropped one in the murky water of our wetlands and couldn't find it. Since I have several 20V powered tools I like to have two batteries available, one for use while the other is charging as a backup. It's always tempting to buy a cheaper alternative but time has provided (some) wisdom to this older guy. Stay with OEM! If you have a problem with it, the company will no doubt take care of it for you. Knowing that you are working with the best equipment of its type inspires confidence and keeps you in the game.

Hey! It's DEWALT!! How can you go wrong???
I've never regretted purchasing anything from Dewalt….even if it was a used item. They just know how to build the stuff. This battery package was just what I needed and I got a very good price so, I'm a happy camper and will do it again and I hope the seller and I can meet up again....so, ther3!!!

Defective? Nope - Operator Error!
This battery along with the one that came with my impact wrench did not appear to charge properly. Update: Got a call from DeWalt customer service agent. Learned you MUST push batteries firmly into the charger past a plastic "detent" until you hear a loud "click" into place. If you do not do this, the lights on the charger will make it appear that the charger is working but the batteries will not charge. There is no mention of this in the owner's manual or instructions. If your batteries are not charging, MAKE SURE TO PUSH THEM INTO THE CHARGER WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO GET PAST THE PLASTIC DETENT AND YOU HEAR A LOUD CLICK! Changing my review to 5 stars for a nice tool and excellent customer service by DeWalt.

I feel stupid
This is my third Dewalt battery that I’ve received. The first two would not charge when I received them. Amazon has a great return service, so I exchanged the first two. With every battery, they would not charge. Even after I cycled them through my chargers. With the third battery I knew there had to be a simple solutions because odds are pretty steep to receive three bad batteries in a row from different sellers. So, I Googled the issue and my first result was a video. I watched it and immediately felt stupid! The BATTERY HAS TO CLICK INTO THE CHARGER! All my other butteries would charge and I never knew about the click. I hope this helps other people.
