I bought this product because I own an old Weber Genesis Grill which is a charcoal grill that came with a 2lb propane tank to start the charcoal. The problem was that you never do a tank exchange for these small propane tanks so I'd have to drive like 20 miles to a place that would refill propane tanks. Finally a few years ago they said they could no longer fill it because apparently tanks have an expiration date. So I had been doing the old lighter fluid and charcoal for the last 5 years until someone told me about this product. I found online that I could spend about $80 and get a new tank but that would still involve me finding somewhere to get it filled. I have about a dozen Coleman camping tanks laying around so I gave this a try. The only downside was that this did not exactly fit the valve configuration on my propane connection. Mine had an older quick release valve. I was able to get some new fittings from Lowes and now it works like a champ! I've used it probably 1/2 a dozen times since on a 1/2 used Coleman propane tank that I can buy from Walmart for under $2. I wish I knew about this years ago!!

1 lb to 20 lb Propane Tank Adapter

This adapter works great. I use it to run my dual fuel generator to warm it up before changing oil. Sure beats lugging 20lb tank just to run gen for a few minutes. If I ever run generator on gasoline I will use this adapter with 1lb cylinder to purge carburetor before storage.

Adapter Is Genius!!

This adapter is exactly what we needed to convert out table top grill from a 20lb propane tank to a 1lb propane bottle. The adapter is easy to use. Seems heavy duty and threaded well. It came quickly and in good condition. fits well with our Nexgrill table top propane grill that we bought from Costco. sometimes we just don't want to carry the big tank around. No spray when connecting like the other reviews stated. can disconnect 1lb tank and reserve for later use. no propane smell leaking while grill lit. It's a very tight seal. Good on you Amazon for providing such a high quality product.

Great heavy weight product

Great heavy weight product. I brought this for a portable gas grill that we will take with our RV Trailer for cooking out. The grill came a hookup for the large LP tanks which decreases the convenience of using the grill. This little adapter which we have already tested will let us use some 1 lb tanks which we already had. This is more than worth its price.

Great Idea and product.

I keep this wired to the charcoaler in case of one of those “Oh Crap” moments where you run out of propane and steak is half done. Run to shop and grab a small bottle and finish up for supper...

Perfect for tailgating

Recently bought a 2 burner table top BBQ that has a hose that is meant to attach to a 20lb propane tank but also wanted to be able to take the BBQ tailgating and don’t want to haul around the large full size tank so bought this adapter and it works perfect. Also great to have this adapter and 1 lb tanks on hand in case your full size tank runs out mid BBQ. Would work great to do what it’s named after and save your steak when your 20lb tank runs out and all you got is a 1lb tank in the shed. The 1lb tank runs the grill just as good as a 20lb tank by the way.

Good quality, fast shipping

Much easier to hook up a small cylinder to finish grilling and then drag out the spare 20# tank at my convenience. Price of propane these days I'm finishing off the tank. (And using another of their products to refill my 1# tanks as needed.) Good quality, good price.

Does the job

We replaced a small grill with a larger one and needed to stop using those small green screw-on propane containers. But we had several on hand. For the next several BBQs, we used those instead of the big tank by using this adapter. Once we got down to just one spare small cylinder, we put it aside for that day in the future when the big tank runs out in the middle of dinner. This adapter will get the grill fired back up quickly with a minimum of hassle. ONE NOTE OF CAUTION: connect this adapter to the hose first, then to the little tank. When disconnecting, reverse the process and disconnect this adapter from the little tank first before removing the adapter from the hose. Otherwise, you'll have the little tank blowing propane out the adapter at full flow.

Awesome product! This allows you to use the 1lb camper bottles on anything you use 20lb bottles on. I use mine on a weed torch to start my campfire and charchol pit, as well as a backup to my gas grill. Been looking for this item for years! BRAVO! also great quality and fast shipping!

Well made and straightforward operation.

Great product. Had to purchase because my apartment doesn't allow propane tanks larger than 1 gallon. My suggestion is to watch the extremely helpful instructional video before using the adapter. There are reviews on this product with people complaining about the fuel spraying everywhere when they use the adapter but they're not using it how it was designed. Remember, regulator first THEN screw on the tank.
