My new #1 fillet knife
I bought this fur use when camping and fishing for salmon, steelhead, and trout, but it quickly became my go-to fillet knife for use in the kitchen at home as well. The blade takes a very good edge and stays sharp longer than many knives several times its price. The blade is also flexible, which I prefer when filleting large fish or boning joints of meat.

Very sharp, fillets beautifully. The folding design is ingenious and allows it to fit into my small travelling kit. 5 stars would fillet again.

Nice knife for intermittent use
I don't clean all that many fish, but when I do this knife has been great. I'm not sure it would be quite heavy duty enough for every day use, but it's light, sharp, and the blade is extremely flexible, so all and all a great addition to my tackel box.

This "Filet" knife is perfect for deboning big game animals and that is exactly what I use mine for. More flexibility results in much quicker cleaner cuts for big game animals. Once you get the hang of letting the blade flex up against the bone you will see how fast and easy it is. Blade also holds its edge for a good long while. Works excellent on fish as well. Blade and knife overall size is just right... not to big, not to small. The way the knife folds up into its own housing/sheath is really unique. It avoids the problem of having a separate sheath that can get lost. I have used all sorts of knives and methods for harvesting deer and hogs .... this knife is the cleanest quickest way to "get r done". It works great for fish as well, but for fish all the knives work pretty much the same since that is a very easy task compared to a deer. Frankly I think the price for this knife is actually well below where it should be. I would call it a great value even at double the price.

Good Folding Fillet Knife - first impressions out of the box.
I bought this to take on backcountry canoe trips in place of my much larger and heavier fillet knife. Overall impression out of the box was very good; I was pleasantly surprised at the quality fit and finish for the $$. The handle feels grippy and has good ergonomics. The blade is made from a fairly low end stainless steel so will not hold an edge as well as higher end stainless or carbon steels, but came sharp, will be easy to sharpen in the field and should be perfectly adequate for filleting anything I'm likely to catch and eat on canoe trips. The way the blade locks when folded is secure and the lockup, when open, is rock solid; both these features are critically important. As other reviewers have remarked, the sheath is not great. Anyway, once this knife is properly field tested, I'll edit the review to describe it's performance in the backcountry.

Very nice knife
I really like this filet knife a lot. This knife is very lite. The feature that makes it stand out is that it is collapsible. A person can fold this knife away and it will take up very little space. A knife is about the blade. This knife was very sharp when I bought it. I was able to cut a deer leg and cut the meat into some very pretty steaks with this knife. It is a inexpensive knife so if it is loss a person will not become too upset. I like this knife so much I am thinking of buying more as gifts and another one for myself.

I love it. Makes for a great gift, too.
Filet knives are meant to have flexible blades. I have been using many different filet knives for years and I enjoy the performance of this Clark Fork knife. The flex is very effective in getting nice clean cuts. It's super easy to carry when folded and it's very nice that the handle folds up to a normal hand-sized length when the much longer blade is extended.

Great little knife for the Crappie fisherman!
This is a great little filet knife, it's light and easy to carry on my belt in the included sheath. It has a nice sharp edges and seems easy to keep sharp. I am primarily a Crappie fisherman and this knife has enough blade flex with enough backbone to make fileting a stringer full an easy task.

Great!
Love it. Very razor sharp. Only thing is the front by the blade is a little thick so when you fillet you can't get as close to the skin as you want so every now and then you leave a little meat on the skin... Other than that it's great.

Folded up it fits nicely in the zipper pocket of my compact tackle box ...
I bought this knife specifically for going on BWCA canoe trips where size and weight are somewhat of a concern. Folded up it fits nicely in the zipper pocket of my compact tackle box where my previous full sized knife did not. It is plenty sharp and seems to hold its edge fine. It folds up securely once you get the hang of it and comes with a mediocre but effective sheath to protect it. If you are looking for a knife to carve up a lunker Pike, this is probably not what you want. But on the first trip with it, we lucked into a mess of medium sized walleyes and it did a quick and effective job of fileting them thankfully, as the mosquitoes were relentless as the sun went down. A fine addition to my BWCA gear, perhaps not your primary filet knife if you do a lot of fishing from a boat and catch larger fish.
