NOT A TOY. I have done some heavy duty work with these bits and they performed above and beyond expectations (your router has to do with performance too). They are sharp, and EXTREMELY well made. The case does not look cheap and it protects the bit extremely well. It is a bit hard to get the bigger bits out and back in, not a lot of room to wiggle. YONICO's customer service is beyond AMAZING. I had a situation with one of the bits (all my fault) and they were able to address my concern in full, they followed up with me as promised, and all was resolved. I Love this set.

This kit is the bees knees for routing. The only bad thing I can think of about it is the cheaply made box it comes in. When I purchased the kit, it averaged about ~$1.99 a bit ($139.95 ÷ 70). Normally, these bits are around $12 - $13 each, so right out of the gates, it's a solid investment. A word or warning, some others have mentioned broken bits when trying to do some deep cuts. I can't comment on their individual scenario, but you should ALWAYS make incremental cuts when using a router. This negates that issue entirely. If you're into routers and putting crazy, unique edges on things, this is a must-have.

Just starting out with building a workshop and needed some router bits. I did a lot of research and found a number of positive reviews of Yonico bits in general, so I decided to give them a try. My thought was for under $2 per bit, I could have nearly any bit I might need especially for those not used very often, and replace them over time for the most frequently used bits. I of course, have not used all of them, but the several I have used have not disappointed. They produce very smooth clean cuts without tearing, primarily with softwood so far. They are sturdy, and appear very well made, and packaged very nicely. Only suggestion so far is that the box could be a little roomier to make it easier to remove the bits. Would definitely recommend this set. June 22, 2014 I thought I'd update this review a little over a year later. I've used a number of these bits to date and they have not disappointed. For the several I've used many times, they still produce clean smooth cuts. Still consider this a great way to start, at a very affordable price.

This set is still very new to me and I've only used a couple of the bits, but I wanted to get in an early review to express how happy I am that I bought this set. I had read some reviews that almost prevented me from getting it. After giving it a chance, I couldn't be happier. Either they have updated their packaging or there are different packages from different sellers. The one I ordered was sold by Amazon and was delivered in 2 days. It was packaged very well and nothing was out of place at all. The bits are in a nice box. Inside the wooden box there is a plastic mold holding the bits in place, as well as a bubble wrap sheet to keep a firm fit. The box is enclosed inside of a thick styrofoam container. The wooden box and packaging was larger than I expected. I think they did a great job with it (the version I received). The 2 bits I have used so far cut very well. I have a couple of single Yonico bits, and the individually sold ones seem to have a longer shank, but these are working well for me so far.

I am getting ready to completely remodel my den with custom-built desks and cabinets, thus I needed a variety of router bits for various tasks. I am well familiar with the high cost of router bits and did not want to spend an excessive amount on a set, but I did want bits that stood up to long-term use. I read reviews on almost every Yonico bit, both for the bit sets and single bits. For the most part reviews were favorable, so I decided I would risk throwing down for the Yonico 17702 70 Bits Professional Quality Router Bit Set. The package arrived within two business days. When the postman handed it to me, I knew I had something substantial. Given the fact that you have 70 1/2" shank steel and carbide bits, the weight of the box is significant. The shipping box was well packaged and there was plenty of packing material inside to protect the contents. The Yonico 17702 70 Bits Professional Quality Router Bit Set comes packaged in a colorful outer box, the back of which shows each bit and its profile...nice touch. I inspected the outer box and found no damage; not even a dented corner. I opened the outer box and removed the wooden bit case. I had forgotten that the wooden router bit box was also fully encased by a 2-piece 1/2" Styrofoam box, further protecting it from shipping damage. Thus, the packing sequence was: plain shipping box packed with crumply brown paper, outer colorful retail box, Styrofoam box, and lastly wooden router bit box. While not world-class woodworking art, the box is solidly build. The latches and hinges are of average quality and perform their function as expected...nothing more or less. One quirk is that the hinges are on the right side of the wood box and the latches are on the left side of the box. My brain says that the box should open like a book with the hinges on the left, but that is something I can swap around while waiting for glue to dry on some project. Opening the wooden bit case reveals the router bit collection, all snugly secured in plastic bit holders. There is a protective piece of foam to keep the bits from making contact with the lid. In the past I have received bit sets, only to find one or more bits have come loose from the holders and rattled around inside the box, chipping precious blades. No so in this case; the plastic bit holders are snug enough to hold the bit securely, but loose enough to where you can use an ungloved finger to extract them without slicing a finger open. The router bits are arranged on angled shelves and each shelf is labeled with a profile and dimensions of the corresponding router bit. Note that the a couple of the pictures on the labels do not quite line up with the router bit that is above them, but it is close enough to where you can make the association, especially if you have been working with routers for more than a few months. I inspected each and every blade of every bit and all were in perfect condition...no chips, cracks or prior use. All of the bearings spun freely and appear to be of fairly good quality. Although each shelf/bit holder is labeled, I carefully cut out the back of the outer box and attached it to the inside of the lid. I have tested several of the bits on redwood and white pine, including the 3/8" roundover, 5/16" classic cove, the 3/8" slotting, and the 31/64" straight bits. So far they cut flawlessly and produce nice crisp, clean cuts. I am using these in a Bosch 1617EVS Router which is mounted in a Bosch RA1171 Router Table. These are not "one-time use" bits as I have read in other reviews. Properly used and properly maintained, the Yonico 17702 70 Bits Professional Quality Router Bit Set will last many years. All-in-all, the performance-to-price ratio is quite excellent and I am eyeing several more Yonico router bits and sets to supplement this nice collection. Thanks, Yonico!

People advised me to buy bits only as I need them, but for $2/bit it is really hard to justify that approach. New to woodworking, so don't have a lot of experience with other brands. I've used ~10 bits so far in the past 4 months, in handheld and in my router table. I can say that the bits are wicked sharp, cut very clean, and have not exhibited any runout. Very happy with this purchase and have since bought other Yonico bits. UPDATE: After nearly a year using this set, I am happy to report these are still working out great. I still have not used every bit in the set, but maybe 1/3 of them and half a dozen have seen frequent use in hardwoods. Still producing clean cuts. I've added a number of other Yonico bits to my collection.

First off, I’m not using these in a professional production situation. If you need that, buy Freud. Yonico is best for the hobbyist, or occasional woodworker. I bought 3 individual Yonico bits for a project, and these are exactly the same! Same very high quality, sharp, plenty of carbide for resharpening, shanks long enough to mount in my Jet 2 HP shaper to give plenty of travel above the table. My son will use these in a Festool router. Great selection of profiles, which give you the ability to produce many decorative edges and profiles. Two downsides. The interior shelves of the box came loose during the banging around this gets during shipping, because they were insufficiently nailed to the box sides. Luckily none of the bits was damaged, because each bit is tightly held in a plastic collet secured to the shelves. So I took another reviewers suggestion, and brad nailed those shelves in solidly. The packaging for the box was in good shape, it was just the poor construction of the box shelves. Also, I’m having a bear of a time removing some of the bits from said collets, they’re in there tight! You might have to rig up a special tool to carefully pry them out of their collets- don’t use your fingers, those things are ultra-sharp! Other than that, this is an excellent set of bits, way better than buying individually.

UPDATE 7/2/2016: So I have done two things, first is I took the inside padding out of the box and laid it on top of the outer box with images of the bit names and profile pictures. I then cut around the foam and put the foam and the new bit chart inside the box lid. Put in a few small brad nails to hold it in place. Second, I have used a few bits so far, the 3/4 straight bit and 1/4 roundover. Both worked fine for me and I made my first picture frame using a guide by the "WoodWorking for Mere Mortals" youtube channel. Everything seems to be working great. -------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: Must have updated packaging as of 2016. I took several pictures to show how my item was packaged. Secure in Styrofoam outside the box, and the bits were packaged with bubble wrap layers holding them all in place. The other buyer may have had a returned unit, or the company updated their packaging. This is my first and only set of router bits (go big or go home) to use with my BOSCH 1617EVSPK router. By comparison, a set of four bits by Ryobi from the home despot cost ~$40 before tax. Some other brands have bits that are easily 20-40$ each. Now, I am sure you do get what you pay for to an extent. I bet Freud and Whiteside bits stay sharper longer, maybe run at higher RPM, maybe have the carbide cutters attached more securely, I don't know... but for someone starting out this seems to provide a fantastic basis learning which bits you really need to splurge on. I have not noticed any chipping in the cutters. The paint is just a little uneven and that makes me wonder, were these balanced before or after the paint was applied? Because I hear the paint comes off. Does it matter spinning at 20,000 RPM? It probably does. I have not used them to cut yet, but I will be sure to come pack and update once I do. There is a picture guide of all the bit profiles on the back of the packaging. I wish this came as an insert to the wooden case, or glued to the back or something like that.

Very Good, high Quality Drill bits. They Come with a bit of Oil over them you will Smell it when you open it. Think nothing of it if you are new to this like i was. Anyway Used about 3 of them out of all of them. First one used it so much, it is (a bit worn down) XD and or dull, not to sure. The wood is burning a bit on the side no matter how slow i go or small amount i cut off with that one.. Other are fine so far.. I give them a 5-5 might Update this somewhere down the line and post picture when ever i finish.

Absolutely Awesome. I dont know how they are able to sell these at such a low price, but they work great. I bought this kit about 3 years ago and they have been working flawlessly with light/medium use. One of the best values of any tools i've bought on amazon, and i've bought a lot of stuff...
