Every AmScope product we've bought has been a winner in the value department. Years ago we got the kids (ok, really a gift for myself) an Amscope "Compound Biological Microscope", and I was impressed with the quality of the construction and optics for the price. A lifetime ago I worked in a biology research lab using name-brand microscopes costing 4 figures, and for 10% of the cost we were definitely getting far more than 10% of the capability. We even submitted some images to the Nikon "Small World" competition -- of course we didn't win, but sure was fun. At that time we also got boxes of AmScope slides, coverslips and a couple sets of AmScope prepared slides. Again those were all excellent quality for the money and provide endless fun and education. So finally, about this product, these slides and cover slips: the same excellent value and for the money, great for student use. We had finally used up our original stock, and was very glad to find these on Amazon at this price.

Great product

Very happy with these— I have been using them for preserving snowflakes— I do wish the tiny plastic covers were less delicate to handle— but the glass itself is strong, clear, and not easily scratched— and the packaging is very neat and durable — providing a piece of tracing paper between each slide in order to decrease the likelihood of chips and scratches— and the covers are placed in a plastic box with an airtight lid— it’s only handling the covers with my fingers when they tend to chip— they are durable in their packaging I even accidentally dropped my package shortly after purchasing and none of the slides or covers broke in their casings — even though they dropped on cement.

T R U T H

Ok. I bought these because I didn’t wanna buy my bookstores slides(they are thick but a bit pricey for a small box without cover slips). These are indeed a bit thin then what I am used to but work fine. Yes.the cover slips and slides are a bit dirty which I find strange. Like did they reuse them or?? But a wash with distilled water and a kimtech wipe does the job if not then I add little liquidnox . I would give it 5 but went with 4 since the slides are packaged nice and affordable but the slides ended up being a bit dirty, which I shouldn’t complain about. I be washing my slides either way.

All arrived intact & clean

Great packaging, nothing was able to shift around during shipping! I did not even need to clean the slides before use. You do have to be careful to separate the coverslips as they tend to stick together (as do pretty much all coverslips) but the edges are not sharp so it was a painless process. I will definitely be buying this again as soon as I run out!

No complaints

Item arrived as described. There are no broken slides as far as I can see. A few have scratches and one or two have tiny bubbles that seem to be trapped in the glass? Overall they perform well enough for our at home family science projects. The covers are super thin but that’s what you’d want. Very happy, would buy again.

Good quality and quantity

Bought for my 10yr old son. He loves being able to make so many slides all at once if he wants. Right now, he is trying to slice dead bugs into small slivers, to compare and contrast between different bug parts (boys!!) but he is enjoying it and has gotten him away from the t.v. Would recommend. Good quality, packaged well. All arrived intact and ready to use.

Best bang for your buck.

I'm impressed by the price and speed I recieved this. I used these slides to detect parasites and planaria in local tap water. The first slide I used had a little dust but otherwise most slides were 95% -99% clean. For detecting parasites and impurities in water I did not find a need to clean the slides. As explained in other reviews the slide covers so stick together quite a but if you have a sanatized desk and gloves it wont be a probelm pulling them apart. Easily clean and reuse slides using ehtanol alcohol 70%.

Good Slides

Good slides, not sure what else you’d want in a slide. These work for basic fermentation microscopy as well as any kind of wet mount, gram stain, or whatever other basic microbiology you might want to do. There aren’t obvious flaws in the slides.

Box was falling apart box was old slides new

Box was falling apart like it had been sitting on a shelf for a while and was picked up and packaged. Worked well for my microbiology class. I could have ordered with out the small squares and bought the regular slides only.
