Here is the scoop on this cover. It should be rated a four star out of the box but I am going to tell you how to easily make it a five star. I will also address many of the "problems" other people have reviewed for this product and similar covers as well. I bought this for my 2015 Tacoma and after considering every possible bed cover. In a nutshell, I love it. Installed it and drove 350 miles this weekend in both nasty sideways dust/wind storms and straight up pounding rain and it contained both as well as any similar product conceivably could. Meaning, several few drops of water at the impossible to waterproof Toyota tailgate seams. 1. Fit and Finish- For the tapered Tacoma bed, it is spot-on. Out of the box it looks awesome, feels stout and blends with the truck. It is packaged carefully. 2. Instructions- Throw them away. 3. Installation Time- About an hour from box to done as you get used to it. Re-installing after removal is less than 10 minutes (I know because I had to remove and re-install three days after installation)...more on that later. 4. Quality/Durability- For the featured negative review to talk about what they think weather will do to this cover down the road in a few years, please send me the lotto numbers. The material feels very stout, the seams are beefy, the edges are rolled, this thing is at the top of "soft tops" when you consider the garbage that used to get snapped to an El Camino bed back in the day. No comparison. 5. Seeing Daylight at the Front of the Bed- The manufacturer has included weatherstripping in the box. Use it. Be creative with it in the odd nooks and crannies Toyota created at the front of this bed. The Toyota plastic bed tub and the metal bed walls coupled with the protective bed wall top caps make for a complicated and completely uneven front edge. You will have to work at sealing all the little sources of light (and wind and water as a result) to make it as water and dust-tight as possible. Again, this is NOT a TYGER thing, this is a TOYOTA thing. But no big deal. 6. Wind at the Leading Edge- This is where the product should lose a star. Like other products like this one (soft tri-fold framed tonneau) there have been review complaints about wind getting under the front edge and lifting the cover and creating a possible safety issue for following vehicles. Also allowing wind-driven dust or water to enter your covered bed. At speeds above 70, this cover begins to lift its leading edge (along the back window of the cab). You can see it in your mirror and it is unnerving. It can be blamed on only having four clamps (all located along the inside bed rails) included in the TYGER system. The easy visual here is four guys in a car moving a mattress on the roof of their car. They all reach one arm out the windows and hold four points of side of the mattress, but as they drive down the highway the front flips around and lifts up. BUT there is an easy solution... The Solution- For Tacoma trucks anyway...We need a fifth clamp on this cover at the leading edge (TYGER are you listening?). My solution stems from my disregarding the lousy installation instructions (in a good way). During my initial installation, I looked at the garbage printed on the instruction papers and just started trying to clamp this thing down to my track rails inside the bed, naturally starting with the first two clamps closest to the cab. I placed the cover-mounted front hooks directly into the bed rails (not the way you should do it but it worked) and screwed down the round handles until the front was tight. I then tried to do the same thing with the back rear plastic clamps but they couldn't reach the track rails inside the bed.... That led me to look at the other stuff included in the box, and lo and behold there are some extruded aluminum adapters to slip into the track rails inside my bed creating an extended lip for ALL the cover clamps to tighten onto. Well, I looked at the metal front hooks (different longer design than the longer plastic rear hooks) firmly in place without the adapters and said "another day." I slid in the rear adapters (be sure to back out the hex-key screw or else you will use a hammer and scratch up your track rails like I did) into place and tightened down the rear clamps and hit the road. On the road, watching the front of my cover flop up and down (it only moves a half inch or so, but it is enough to make you nervous) I thought about the two left-over adapters. I have a track rail on the leading edge of my bed, paralell to the cab...I can slip one adapter into that track...but how do I get a clamp onto the leading edge of the cover... When I got home I unclamped the whole thing and discovered that the leading-edge frame of the cover has a channel tube in it as well. Play with the other left-over aluminum adapter in that channel and you can create (along with the other left-over adapter fixed in the Toyota track rail) two nice horizontal lips to zip-tie together and increase your front-edge wind resistance by easily 80%. 7. Enjoy this nice cover with a little creativity!

All the positive reviews are right. I just installed and it’s just as describe in reviews. I’m adding lots of pictures to help your decision. If I’d had some of these it would’ve been easier to decide. Two concerns were presented. One was the rear warping at the tail gate as seen in another review. I think it was due to not clamping the back latch properly. Mine did the same but was fixed with a secured clamping. The second was the middle support bar that some commented on. It is bent up but for structural purposes. It’s done to provide more rigidity. It’s bowed up for added strength but it is noticeable. The corners at the front will allow minimal water in bed but could be sealed with the provided weather strip. I didn’t need this but in rainy areas it would be a must. Lastly, if you are traveling and wish to secure your property, this is not the cover for you. As it’s vinyl a dull blade would cut the cover and your property is exposed. Not secured in that aspect but it’ll do great for groceries and luggage on trips. Added bonus, the led light is bright and magnetic. Pretty cool since I don’t have bed lights. Overall, very pleased and it folds up nicely if needed. I highly recommend.

Overall pretty impressed by this cover for the price. I think the whole bed rail/track thing that Toyota has done with these beds is complete garbage, but there isn't much I can do about it. I was Leary of ordering because of the rail system but everything I needed was included. I didn't make any changes or have to mod anything. All the brackets and things I needed were included. The material of this cover is actually much better than the extang I had on my f-250. We will see as time goes how she holds up. To anyone considering this cover, just order it. It's nice and does the job. The only complaint I have is the back of the cover near the tail gate. The seal doesn't exactly hit the gate lip. It touches but it's just not centered over it like I would like it to be. In order to achieve dead center the cover would actually have to hang over the back bed panels. Everything else centers right. With that being said, I don't think there is anything this company can do about that either. It's the way Toyota made the bed. Update 3/18/12: It rained pretty good yesterday and much to my surprise, the bed was really dry considering the little spots on each corner of the bed the have daylight coming through. I also got to take the truck on highway speeds today as I have a 45 mile drive to work and this cover didn't even act like it wanted to move. I seen earlier reviews that suggested movement from the front of the cab. Not the case here. I am also going to try and upload some detailed photos to give individuals a better idea of installation. Hope this helps.

All the tonneau covers that I have seen through my local dealer were in the 1,000 to 1,800 dollar range. These were hard covers. One piece, roll up, tri fold etc. They all had one thing in common. You could not use your factory accessory rail. The rail had to be removed or was not accessible. After several frustrating months of what ifssssss. YOU need to decide on your priorities. What is important to you. I started looking at soft covers. And found this cover to suit my needs. Easy install, excellent warranty, Very good follow up and follow through with TYGER AUTO. I don’t store anything in the bed of our Tacoma. It’s there to keep eyes off of what I’m hauling that day. Let’s face it. I don’t care what kind of tonneau cover you got. If “they” want it bad enough. The crow bar will always open it up. You should never store anything in your bed. Soft cover can be cut with a knife. Try messing up a hard cover with a crow bar. Mess up your cover and bed too. My TYGER cover fits really well. So far no leaks. Looks real good. And good ratings in Tacoma World.

I was skeptical, at first, when I ordered this tonneau cover because of its low price. Boy!, was I pleasantly surprised after I received it. The quality of the framework and the vinyl cover are first rate. Very well thought out design and execution: all metal frames and fasteners are corrosion resistant alloys or stainless steel. A question to customer support was answered accurately and reinforced my feelings that I made a good choice of vendor. The cover fits tightly to the 6' bed of my new 2017 Tacoma and will certainly keep out the Maine winter weather. I couldn't be happier.

I have a brand new 2017 Tacoma with a 6 ft bed I read the review on TYGER TRI-FOLD pick up tonneau cover and they were very good for the old tacomas so I went and ordered one for my 2017 Tacoma, but after installing the tonneau cover I notice that it did not fit right it was to small in width and length about a inch or 2 , then it rained the next day and my bed was filled with water so I took pic, outside and inside the bed and called customer service twice and talked to phil and then rick the next day, they told me to send pic. which I did phil said he can see were there mite be a problem and would get back to me never did I called again and talk to rick and he looked at the pic. and said he sees gaps between the cover and the bed he said he would call back but never did that day SO I guess no one cares or doesn't think it is important to fix the problem , so that is y I only rated a one star.... PS customer service told me I ordered the right cover for the 2017 Tacoma TRD sport access cab...... ok , tiger got back to me this week I guess phil was on vacation and got back to me when he got back , I sent more pic. and after working with me sent me a new cover witch work very good now NO leaks I took it to the car wash 2 twice and NO LEAKES I am so happy very nice product, I think what happened was the product was damaged in shipping there was a bend in the frame .. SO thanks to phil I am reversing my review and giving a 5 star in costumer service and a 5 star in the product too... thank you phil

Don't hesitate to buy this cover-so far, it exceeds my expectations! It fit perfectly on my 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR5, short bed. It's easy to install and very stable and sturdy, especially if your truck has bed rails. The front clamps are "speed clamps" if you will, to allow you to flip the cover back when using. Also, this cover would be difficult for someone to break in to, if you are able to lock your tailgate. Short of jumping on top of it, the contents under the cover are pretty safe. The instructions says it's good to items weighing 30 lbs.

If you're reading this, you are probably comparing different brands of bed covers and deciding whether it's okay to buy this "cheap" cover as opposed to the more well-known brands, which cost 2-4x the price. I just installed this on my 2015 Tacoma so can share some comments/thoughts: - Fit & Finish: It looks good on the truck, matches well with the trim. Material seems thick enough and the ~1-year reviews I've read are promising. I imagine this is basically the same material/process used on the more expensive ones. There is a slight upward bow in the cross-bars which are intended to stop water/snow from pooling in the middle of the cover. Immediately after install there are some wavy bits on the side of the bed where the pieces fold. These may straighten out as it sits in the sun and settles. The nuts & bolts seem to be of good enough quality, lock washers are used where needed, etc. No complaints here, and I am the type of person to complain about these things. - Installation: Like several other reviews suggested, I didn't read the instructions - it is pretty straightforward. It took me about 30-40 minutes to unpack and get everything lined up and bolted down. 2 people is helpful but definitely not required. No tools required other than a knife/scissors to cut the weather stripping to length and a philips screwdriver if you want to move the tie-down clips on the cover. There are a few very small gaps which could maybe let a few drops of water in if you're driving through a heavy rainstorm at highway speeds. I am content with how well it seals. - Install specifics/advice: Clean off the front (cab) side of the bed liner well before you apply the weather stripping. To line up the cab-side brackets I just laid down in the truck bed so I could see everything. Once you have it on straight and the brackets are in place you can fold the cover up for final tightening. The tailgate side can be done with everything in place. Don't forget to tighten the set screws on the aluminum brackets, but not too tight since it could strip the threads. Before tightening down the rear brackets I re-installed 2 of the factory cargo tie-downs between the front and rear brackets - just in case I need to tie down something large with the cover open. The attachment hardware on the cover is adjustable, and I moved the rear clips inward 1 slot so they clip in at a straighter angle. If you're doing this on the same truck with the cargo rails, I would recommend doing this. Just need to remove a philips screw and move the clips inward 1 slot. I'm including a picture of this so you can see what I'm talking about. - Road worthiness: I bought this for an upcoming road trip so we can keep rain & snow off our cargo. We will be driving about 3000 miles from Texas through the midwest in winter. Will update after the trip if there are any problems but it seems solid. Overall this is exactly what I expected. It doesn't look "cheap" and I am content with the weather sealing, hardware attachment, etc. I haven't directly compared to the more expensive options but I can't imagine how another brand would be *so* much better it's worth 4x the price.

Excellent fit for my 2016 Tacoma short bed. Easy set up. Has been through a couple of rainstorms at highway speed and my bed stayed completely dry. I would absolutely recommend this product, especially for the price.

***5 Month Review*** !!!Pros and Cons list below!!! My brother bought this for his 3rd Gen Tacoma with a 5ft bed before moving to Utah in January. He was filling his bed up with furniture and bags, and just needed something to protect his stuff from the weather, his own driving skills and to drive low key on the highways. He said it fit perfectly. Install was easy enough, just make sure to properly latch everything down. He drove over 700+ miles on his first time using it and experienced some heavy rains on his drive. He cut small pieces of the additional weather stripping provided to fill in the small gaps in the front corners of the cover. No water ever got in, the bed stayed completely dry. And there was barely any wind noise. The cover's so taunt, it's not like a flapping tarp, so it was pretty quiet and unnoticeable. In terms of the construction, it's honestly pretty solid. Comparing the price of this cover to some other more reputable brands, we were nervous this was a cheap knockoff that wouldn't last. But, it's made really well. He's had it on his truck 24/7 throughout his time in Utah, and survived the winter months from January to April, and his truck sat outside the entire time. Rain, snow, sun, the cover was put through the ringer and performs as it did on day one. The fabric looks and feels brand new, the stripping is still in perfect condition, everything has held up really well. When you have your tailgate locked, theres no way to open this cover without cutting into it -- so it's a solid deterrent to passerby's who like sticking their hands in your bed. Overall, the cover has a little inverted bend, like a banana, but when it's secured down it's taunt and doesn't impact performance. The plastic levers/ latches aren't the best, you have to find the right thread depth before clamping down or it'll be too tight or too loose, and the process to find that medium can be a pain in the ass. Part of the plastic lever broke for him, and the threads were stripped from the pressure of the screw (in that process of finding a happy medium). PROS - vinyl is durable, waterproof - weather stripping works well - little to no wind noise - seals are all pretty tight - price is affordable - easy to install or remove by yourself CONS - latches are a bit cheap -- they're plastic and fragile - metal screws that are a part of the latches bend with pressure Overall, he definitely recommends this cover. He's very happy with it and it's a great budget option when comparing to other bed covers. It's affordable and simply works as advertised, it can't get any more simple than that.
