works great, keeping around as a tool in the shop ...
Purchased to pump old stale fuel out of my boat gas tank, hooked it up to a fuel filter before the pump just in case, so as to not plug up the pump, wired it up to a switch and 12v battery, pumped almost 40 gals, works great, keeping around as a tool in the shop for other projects

A nice little pump
I bought this for the sole purpose of evacuating a fuel tank on an old boat. It worked beautifully pumping that old gunk out of there! I plan to try to use it to pump the fluid out of my van's transmission instead of pulling the pan off and dealing with that mess. I think this unit will have multiple purposes. I plan to also find out if it is passive. If it is I can eliminate the primer bulb on my boat motor and install this on a switch. Then I can use it to primer the carbs and turn it off when the motor starts.

It pumps diesel fuel.
After receiving this unit, I connected it's inlet fitting to a container of diesel fuel through a length of appropriately rated fuel hose. After applying an electrical differential of sufficient capacity, specified voltage, and correct polarity to it's electrical connections, I noted a rhythmic clicking noise, accompanied by diesel fuel flowing under pressure from it's outlet fitting. I must, therefore, conclude that the bloody thing works as advertised.

It works and its cheap.
It works!!! I read the reviews and was worried about it, but I hooked it up and it works. I am having a problem with vapor locking on an 1965 F100 and am using this to help out the mechanical pump, when it starts vapor locking. I placed it as near as possible to the tank (which I moved to rear of truck) and if it starts coughing and hiccupping I flip the switch in the cab and it helps get liquid gas to the carburetor. So far so good.

Not fast but worked great
I used this to empty my boat's fuel tank. It wasn't fast, probably took a couple hours to empty 20-25 gallons. But I didn't suck any gas and I got the job done. Never even got warm either. So, good backup to the old siphon hose. I was able to put an inline filter on the hose and catch a bunch of junk from the tank too. Happy with it, money well spent.

Works fine for me 1 month daily use.
Pump works great, but slightly too high pressure for Satoh S650G Nikki Carb. Use a plastic tie wrap on the rubber hose to clamp it down (after pump, before carb) this reduces the pressure just about right (1.5psi), otherwise it will overflow the bowl and bubble out the air vent tube (which you can see with air cleaner off). Just start the engine with no clamping from the tie wrap. Watch air vent tube until gas starts to come out of it. Then, one click at a time, pull the tie wrap tight until you see the gas start to recede back down the air vent tube. You may have to try this a couple of times if you overclamp it, it will run out of fuel in the bowl. Engine will die a few minutes of running. Plastic tie wraps are cheap, get it right! if you don't clamp it down enough the fuel will overflow the bowl and end up in your engine. SAFETY WARNING : Like Electric Fuel Pumps, You will want this pump connected to a key on power source (preferably an engine running voltage source), or it will fill your cylinders with fuel. It has worked fine for me for me in the past, and this particular pump has been working daily for a month or so now.

Take fuel out of you fuel tank fast.
Came very fast, and used the pump to use to take fuel out of my truck gas tank, to drop to replace the internal fuel tank in my truck. Used a factory GM pump to replace the truck pump. But this pump saved me 30.00 plus not going to auto parts store. Gave this pump to a friends which helped me, for the next job he will do at his automotive shop!

So far it it doing just what I want
I had many reservations after reading some of the reviews, but it is just what I needed, so I gave it a try. So far I have run it for maybe 45 minutes with no heating or dying problems that others seemed to have. I have pumped out about 10 gals of old gas from a pontoon boat and it is purring right along.

Great for draining tank in a hurry!
I used the pump to drain a fuel tank in a boat, it did the job! It is a little noisy but that was not a concern for me. Only ran it about 30 minutes off and on, so durability was not tested very much. At the price point that I acquired this pump, I am happy and my fuel tank got drained!

Great clean out for Boat Gas Tank
Pumped out stale gas with some water in it from boat gas tank in no time. Worked better than a hand pump for about the same price and without the work. Just hook it up to the battery and it does the work for you, highly recommend this pump.
