My moss balls arrived a little squished by other things in their package, but upon squeezing them gently under a stream of water as directed on the package they fluffed up into the anticipated shape. I was surprised, because they were even cuter and looked better than any of the pictures I'd seen! I've only just placed them in their temporary container (an old Coca-Cola bottle lined with red shiny marbles) and I can already tell these are going to be the most spectacular plant in my small collection once they grow a little more. This seller delivered beyond my expectations. Thanks!

These are such cute little guys. I haven't really noticed them move but I've had them for almost 2 months and they've definitely almost doubled in size! It's nice for my desk at work since I don't really want to keep a fish here as I wouldn't be able to have a tank I'd feel comfortable size wise here. Keeps a little green in my office space. I might add some little shrimp to the bowl sometime!

I was very sceptical at first however I was pleasantly surprised when I got them in the mail. WARNING: when you open the package the product smells HORRIBLE, truly vomit worthy. However when you get past that and soak them in a cup of water for a few minutes, to somewhat clean them, it gets better. After soaking them and placing them in the tank through the next week or so I noticed my betta playing with the small little balls for the lack of a better phrase. He would push them around with his head and now they are almost all in one area instead of spread out like I had them. Silly fishy. Now not only are the great for the tank, being biological filters and all but they also keep my little guy entertained and look great! What else could a girl ask for! They aren't as small as theyou seem to be in the pictures on amazon and it does come with six so while they're perfect for my 2.5 gallon tank for one betta, I'd recommend either purchasing a few packages or getting a bigger version of them. Simply a must have. I'd recommend to anyone who is starting up a new aquarium or already has a set up. I will update this review periodically with news on how big they get in time, with pictures etc. Just remember hold your breath or something upon opening this product.

exactly what i was hoping for, arrived fast, clean and alive :D

I bought these in December. They arrived moist and smelled fine. I rinsed and gently squeezed them per instructions and left them in a container of water for two weeks quarantine (as you should with anything) before putting them in my tank. They are still going strong and look beautiful and unique. Every other weekly water change I give them a little squeeze and swish around. While my betta doesn't seem too interested in them, they look beautiful in my tank and help clean the water as my other plants do. I haven't noticed any growth in size, but I know these plants grow slowly and they prefer room temperature water. It's barely been 6 months and my betta tank is kept closer to 80. Also I think my ghost shrimp (before they died) liked to snack on them occasionally like they did the poor Amazon Sword shown in the picture provided. All in all a great purchase that I would gladly make again if I wanted more.

These Marimos are not solid. They look like green sludge in the water. Seems like they were recently propagated, didn't stay in a ball and makes the water very mossy with its bits and pieces. I was very disappointed. They are not at all what I expected. They disintegrated into the water. 🔹🔹🔹update!!! This seller saw my review, contacted me right away and replaced my order no questions, no gimmicks. I received my replacements yesterday and they ARE BEAUTIFUL, VERY PLEASED! I wanted to take the time to let prospective customers that THEY contacted me...superior customer service. I would definitely recommend this seller. Thank you again!

These arrived in a container the size normally seen for condiments. They were very dark green and smelled aweful when I first opened the package. I rinsed them in water, squeezed them a bit and put them in a little plastic container with water for about 48 hours. Just dropped them into my little betta tank. I have a little split tank, one fish seemed to just ignore these, the other one has been nibbling on it. It's only the first day, we will just see how well they get incorporated All 6 were round ball shapes approximately half inch in diameter and all of them looked green and healthy. No guarantee they'll survive if my fish keeps nibbling on them. Overall, this is my favorite purchase among the 4 types of mini living plants I bought for my betta tank.

Very cute green companions for the desk, not only I have loved them but also my boyfriend whom I have also given two for valentine's day! They are bright green, and all of them arrived in a little bag with just enough moisture for them to stay healthy :) thank you

I wanted a plant for my desk, and was envious of a coworker's bonsai. But I needed something that wouldn't keel over from neglect (I travel) and could do okay with erratic light. And, I love moss. When these adorable moss balls came up in my search, I bought them and a squat glass pitcher with a lid (Bormioli Rocco) and 2 pounds of river pebbles. They are wonderfully peaceful to have on my desk, and I can tell they've grown some in the months I've had them! I water them occasionally with sparkling water from a SodaStream for extra CO2 and it makes them float up to the top then sink back down, like a living green lava lamp. Change out 1/2 the water every week or so and add one drop of Luffy Marimo Plant Food per moss ball when you change the water. Try using sparkling water occasionally for extra CO2 and fun.

I love these little guys, they shipped fast and arrived very green and healthy. I divided one of them in order to get an even smaller size to fit the container for it. The division worked very well and both halves are going strong. This is my first experience with Marimo. There was a point when I first got them where I almost wondered if these weren't just fake things made from some kind of felt. I had to do some online research. They are very real and that is, in fact, exactly how they are supposed to look. I treat mine like pets and have given a couple away to interested coworkers who also treat them as desk pets. I find it very soothing to roll them around in a bottle with pebbles while pondering work issues. I also place them in windows in the morning winter sun and sometimes they start floating around and pressing on the glass towards the light. These are very fun to use to make your own small desk aquariums. The slow growth rate allows them to be kept in very small jars that I have but I will be in the market for some larger ones very soon.
