I used these as reverse lights on a Chevy S10. MUCH brighter than stock 3157 bulbs. Now, at night, I can see objects through my tinted rear windshield. I might just replace all my signal bulbs with these. One note: when installing them, they may not light up on the first attempt. I thought mine were defective, but then removed them from the socket, and reinstalled them, rotated 180 degrees; works fine now. There is no indication on either the bulb or socket telling which way is correct.

I first ran across this brand when my tail lightt bulbs kept burning out, someone recommended to buy led bulbs I tried ordering eBay and other brands and would always get a cheap crappy cover(other brands) the base would come loose or the leds would burn out, then I stumbled upon these and was surprised with the quality when they first came in it's been about a year and still no issues easy install and brighter then any led bulb I've ever used before, my favorite is the reverse bulbs I have a commercial van I use for delivery services and when you're constantly pulling turning around in dark places these bulbs literally light up the whole street, highly recommended, will buy again for any bulb replacement in future cars!

After a week of research, I selected these as a replacement for a euro bulb in my car - and boy am I happy I paid a premium for them! These bulbs dropped straight into my 06 ' Audi as a replacement for my DRL's, and I couldn't be happier. They are approximately '6000 K' on the LED color scale, and match my HID's perfectly! They have two pins in the exact same positions as the euro bulb they replaced, and a nickel base (highly recommended by German auto manufacturers) - the only modification needed to prevent a "bulb out" warning was adding a 25W resistor in parallel. Let me repeat that a different way: These bulbs are *NOT* CANBUS compliant/ ready. They need companion resistors added to the circuit - the wattage of which corresponds directly to the rated output of the incandescent bulb they are replacing, which is usually printed on the base of the bulb itself. That being said, they are BRIGHT! They look incredible! Well done, JDM ASTAR. You have my business from here forward. **NOTE: I did *NOT* receive any free stuff or discounts, etc. for this review. I paid full price, and would do so again in a minute.

Installed these in a Hummer H3 with Spec-D red/smoked lens tail lights. As the other reviews have indicated, these work great in the back-up lights with a significant increase in illumination. However, the opposite was true installing them in the red lens compartment for the running/brake light - the illumination was actually duller than the original bulbs when installed in this part of the tail light.

I love these! I am using them for backup lights and they are superior the stock lights. VERY BRIGHT. As you see in the photo, I placed this light in my back left tail light, the right tail light is stock. (Ignore the bumper lights, was comparing halogen to new led... this is way brighter!!!!). As you see this product is very bright and because it is a little longer it has better side throw too. You will not regret your decision :D

Very easy installation on my 2014 Silverado! Step one - get safety glasses for crumbs that will drop off into your eyes Step two - position yourself under the lamp you are going to change Step three - with your thumb and forefinger pinch the power connector and pull off light assembly Step four - with your thumb and forefinger pinch current bulb fastener and pull out towards rear of truck Step five - pull green gasket from old bulb and reinstall in new bulb - pictured Step six - reinstall all in reverse checking each light for functionality Step seven - post on amazon and Facebook because they are so cool!

Bought them so I can drop my amp load and my alternator doesn’t run into problems. Have lots of extra electrical in my truck so I’m changing all the bulbs. Getting led headlights......so I don’t think that they are that much brighter than the halogen sylvanias. But once I get my new led headlamps, nice that they’ll match in color. I don’t think That up coming tragic is having problems w. Any glare from me. . But my fog housings have wavy ripple glass Maybe that’s Why? Some before and after pics. They run cooler. Like on 60’s vs 120 degrees. Once I change all the bulbs, I should have freed about 30amps load. My e fan off-road lights and on board air....take lots of amps.

These assemblies are just as pictured on Amazon. The base itself is plastic because it needs to be, the two black rings are aluminum which really surprised me in a good way as it seems that everything is plastic nowadays. I have tried to show this in the pictures as well. I wanted to use these in my '05 Ford Fivehundred for backup lights and was a little sceptical at first because a lot of these LED assemblies do not work well in reflector assemblies, these on the other hand appear to distribute evenly throughout the lens assembly. Fit: this was another concern I had because the reflector assemblies are tall. They do in fact fit albeit with little to no room to spare. One thing I noticed as I bench tested them was that these do get fairly warm when powered up for 5+ minutes to the point where I would rather not touch the aluminum rings. Installation was straight forward and simple (my car has the standard sockets not the CK). Brightness: I have not had a chance to test them at night, however even in daylight (with the sun out) I can see an improvement over incandescent bulbs, you should be able to tell the difference in the pictures. If these LED's live up to my expectation then I will get additional sets for my other vehicles.... Ok folks, it got dark here so I just went out in the freezing weather to check because I just had to know. THESE ARE AWESOME!!!!! Wonderful bright light, even distribution through the lens assembly and even when I stand at the end of my driveway they are still bright as all get out!!!! Too bad that the pictures disappeared after my first edit...... Well I'm off to order some more...... January 17, 2015 I received two more sets and installed them on my wife's 2001 Silverado 1500, used them in front for DRL (Daytime Running Ligts) and as the reverse/backup lights. They fit without any issues and just as in my Five Hundred they look awesome....... Well worth the price.

considering they are LED's...I was impressed. I have tried many LED's in diff. scenarios but not for driving lights on the front of my vehicle. They really are brighter, much whiter (a bit of that LED pail blue) and light up the road in front of you much better than the stock incandescent bulb. One IMPORTANT thing to note: stock bulbs cast the light straight out...as in down on the road, not up in the face of oncoming drivers. The ASTAR LED's flood light straight ahead in all directions and will be in the face of oncoming drivers. I only plan to use them when driving in the country not in town or on the hwy unless with fog or snow. Installing is a problem. The outside diameter with the O-ring is slightly larger than the stock bulb. You can try wiping vaseline on the OD where the O-ring is and push it into the fog light housing. Or, pop the O-ring off with a small pocket knife and put it in without it.

Stock 7440 reverse bulbs were dim on my daughters Subaru. Tinted windows made it worse. I've tried several LED bulbs in the past on several cars and usually end up disappointed. These had good reviews so I tried. At first I thought I was sent the wrong part because they are very snug and take some force driving it into the socket. Also if the light doesn't work, turn it and insert again. The pics speak for itself. It's blinding and makes reversing very safe now for my daughter. Couldn't be happier. I would have paid $100 for these.
