Worth the awkward looks I get in the break room at work! Yes, I know there’s a Kureg 5’ away...
I used to just use the Kureg at work, but after a few years of use, it started taste funny. It also didn’t help that I spoil myself at home with a Moka pot. This percolator bridges the gap between the Moka and a QUALITY drop coffee. It’s a set and forget process, just put the coffee in the bin and water in the base. Plug it in and wait for the blue light on the base to come on and you’ve got up to twelve 8 oz cups of wake up juice. My personal preference is measure out 12 cups worth of coffee (slightly finer than medium/drip size) and add only 10 cups of water for a stronger brew and mellow it out with full fat cream or a good half and half.

Look no further!!!!
This is the perfect coffeemaker! It brews delicious, smooth coffee (make sure to grind coffee beans on the course setting for percolator). It is 100% stainless steel, and the knob is glass. The retro style is great, and I love the sound it makes when perking. The blue light comes on when finished, which is a cool feature. The warm function is the best that I've ever encountered. The lid is a great design, too, so it locks into place but is easy to remove. I used a Presto for years but encountered many problems and had to replace it many times, still dissatisfied. Then, I found out from the manufacturer that the Presto has some aluminum inside.the well part. After a great deal of research (and trying a horrible Farberware), I bought this one. This model #40622R is the latest model.

So far so good.
I love the look and handling of this coffee pot. I LOVE my new coffee pot and have had it now for about four months. I LOVE this perk coffee. Four-to-Five Standard scoops makes a RICH cup of coffee. The other reviewers were right. It keeps it hot, but doesn't burn the coffee. The coffee even tastes good hours later. I've left it on by accident overnight, and the coffee still tastes good in the morning! I also have unplugged the coffee when I don't want anymore. When I plug it in in the morning, it tastes just fine. I love expedience and as few steps as possible. I add grounds on top of the previous grounds, so empty the basket every other time. I also only wash the coffee pot every two weeks. It's just fine. I see no reason to wash it more often. My coffee lasts a LOT longer making richer and better tasting coffee. This pot was a great value, stylish, and works perfectly. I LOVE this coffee pot. I'll never go back to other kinds, except maybe getting a percolator that is nonelectric to have as part of my "survival" and camping gear. I've had expresso, Krupps, regular, and other types of coffee makers. This is my favorite of all. My coffee every morning and through the day is now a treat. Best tasting coffee ever. I'm frugal but love good coffee. I buy Kirkland, which is Cosco's brand, found here on Amazon. In my view it is the best value for quality coffee that is rich flavored but not harsh - close to 4x more expensive coffee. I NEVER buy Maxwell, etc. Do yourself a favor and try Kirkland Coffee. I think Kirkland is also better than Amazon. It tastes like gourmet at a fraction of the cost. Because it is richer, you will also save a lot of money compared to the other store brands, like Maxwell House, etc.

Great percolated coffee
If you like nice hot fresh percolated coffee, this will do the trick. It's a great product. Easy to fill coffee basket. Easy to read lines on coffee basket and in coffee pot for water. I have not had to use a filter. There is a tiny amount of coffee grounds but nothing I notice until I clean the pot. It's an attractive addition to my coffee desires.

Never going back to drip!
This pot makes unbelievable coffee - so good that it has turned me against any other type of coffee maker (drip, pour-over, etc.). Absolutely worth the price. I agree with another reviewer - don't bother with coffee filters, merely wet the outside of the bottom of the filter basket before you add your coffee (I add ~2/3 cup or less of coffee per 12-cup pot) and the surface tension of the water will keep your medium grind coffee where it is supposed to be. Yes, it takes longer, but this unit makes a 12-cup pot in 12 minutes - surely you can wait that long for superior java! Plus, it keeps the coffee warm (not burnt) until you turn it off. Heaven!

Great 'Not New' percolator.
This came from the Hamilton Beach store, as not new. So not sure if it was refurbished, scratch and dent or just returned. I paid $19.99, with no postage, so at least half off. Looked and works likes brand new(which I think it was). And I am loving percolated coffee as opposed to drip. SO much better, but I do need to find a coasrer ground coffee, since a few teeny grounds are coming thru the basket. Still, worth it, even with the grounds! So far, I have received only the best items through 'warehouse' or 'scratch and dent', whatever you want to call these items.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
Received this percolator yesterday so brewed my first pot this morning. Did anyone else notice there are markings inside the basket to correspond with the number of cups you're brewing? I added the grounds based on those guidelines and ended up with perfect coffee on my first brew. I did grind my own beans with the setting between medium and course grind. Haven't gotten to bottom of pot yet so don't know about any grounds but so far none to be found in my cup. Excellent, smooth, HOT coffee.

Exceeds my expectations
I much prefer coffee made in a perc, but it has become increasingly difficult, to find a nice one. Besides looking gorgeous, this pot delivers perfectly brewed coffee. I typically go through a coffee pot every three years. This one seems to be extremely well made and has much more heft than the others I have had. Exceeds my expectations--and did I say gorgeous? Looks great on the counter top. Delivery in a flash!

MAKES A GREAT POT OF COFFEE
If searching for a great cup of coffee is your goal then here it is. After years of using my Mr Coffee I started to look for a new coffee maker. I started with a press, then moved to K-Cup, then back to a drip with a Presto percolator. The problem with the Presto was it would often make a much weaker cup of coffee. There were customer comments that this happened but I tried it anyway. Then I tried this larger 12 cup Hamilton Beach guy. What a difference. Ok some details are necessary here. First the long stem fits down into a recessed bottom eliminating the "light brew" problem. Right out of the box the first brew was excellent. Then I found that the top lid fits down into the maker and with a slight twist to the right, marked with symbols on the top of the brewer so it locks tight in place. The clear top perks right along and you can see, hear and smell the coffee. Ok sorry for all of the details, but this is a review. I like a bold cup of coffee. I found SF Bay Fog Chaser when I was using the K-Cup and I have been using the whole beans. This combo is the end of my search and this review. Good luck with your search too. I know you are doing it too. After all its Amazon. They are the best.

Love it so much I hate it.
This is my first peculator. I have been using drip coffee makers for years. When my expensive one started leaking my wife suggested we try one of these. They are simple - no complicated electronics to die. The design is nice. The cover has a glass top that should keep it from getting discolored. The coffee gets hot and stays that way until you unplug it. It doesn't shut off after x hours like the more expensive makers. Honestly, that is fine with me. Less electronics to fail. Just have to check the coffee after you pour a cup so you know to unplug it. Clean up is a breeze. We initially bought the coffee filters but we only used them a few times. We ended up with more coffee grounds in the coffee than without the filters. My advice on the filters is save your money. The basket does a decent job of limiting the grounds that gets into the coffee. Two things bother me with this: 1. It doesn't have a level indicator so you can't really tell how much is left. Though you can pick it up or remove the basket and look inside so who cares. 2. The reason I love to hate it - The coffee tastes *so* good that I am drinking more coffee than ever before! Argh the heartburn... but it's all good.
