After cutting myself a few times from dull knives I ordered Priority Chef Knife Sharpener. The Sharpener is lighter, in weight, than I expected but there is a handle you hold onto so it wasn't an issue. There are clear instructions to follow on how to sharpening your knives so I couldn't wait to try it. I first sharpened my chefs knife & paring knive, the 2 knives I use the most, and what a difference. They were like 'new' again! Easy to use and it sharpens knives very well

We bought this sharpener for one of our family members who has perpetually dull knives. They do have traditional knife sharpening equipment which we bought for them. However, it is probably inconvenient for them to use it. Hopefully, they will use this sharpener more often because it is very convenient and easy to use. It is also nearly foolproof (just pull the knife gently and lift. Don't push it back and forth.). We tested the sharpener on our knives - ours are premium German knives, and the sharpener works as advertised: it does a nice job tuning up the knife. Does it work better than a diamond steel and a conventional steel sharpening rod (also purchased here at Amazon) - no, but it does just as good a job, and it is lots less expensive. But, unfortunately, the Priority Chef sharpener lacks the drama of whipping the knife back and forth across the sharpening steel, and you'll never look like Chef Gordon Ramsay when you use the Priority Chef (sigh). Do we mind giving our family members a very slightly used Priority Chef sharpener: not in the least. We tested it under actual operating conditions.

I was totally amazed and I am not easily amazed

My Priority Chef Sharpener just arrived in the mail. Tried it out immediately since I am a sharp knife freak. Wow, I was totally amazed and I am not easily amazed, however this little sucker is the best knife sharpener I have ever owned, and I've owned a lot of them. Every knife in my house is now sharp enough to shave with! What a prize this turned out to be. I'll also be bringing it with me to all family dinners since I'm the chosen one to carve the turkey, ham, or whatever. The only problem is, will it be safe to leave our hosts home with their knives being so sharp? I will bring warning stickers to place on their knife holders. Thank you Priority Chef! BTW, do you sell band-aids? :-)

Very good Quality and Results!!!

This is a fantastic knife sharpener. It handles the dullest blades quite easily. I had six assorted knives on my counter that were especially dull. I used the left hand "dull" sharpener slot and then proceeded to the right hand side as the instructions explain. All of the knives are more sharp than they have ever been. The unit has a rubber base which holds it snuggly to the counter while sharpening. The unit is also built very well and I imagine that it will last me a very long time. I would definitely buy this again for a gift or for myself. Great product!!

Great Sharpener for European Style Blades

Well I work as a professional cook and I am presently a culinary student also. I needed something to keep the knives nice and sharp, but I really didn't want to invest in a standard stone. This sharpener works great, and easily keeps a good edge on my blades. The construction seems sturdy enough, and the device is easy to use. Make sure to keep a good, steady pressure on your blade as you sharpen it. Also do not run the blade quickly through the sharpener, as you could risk damage to your blade. Slow, even, steady. For anyone interested in getting this item keep in mind that this is for sharpening European style blades, not Asian. There is a difference in sharpening angles. Always check with the manufacturer to find out what angle your blade was sharpened to, use this sharpener for blades done in the 20 - 22 degree angle. Asian blades and some of the newer European style blades are done at a 15 - 18 degree angle. EDIT 7-4-2016: So I bought a second one to have handy at work. I am presently feeling a bit spammed by Priority Chef because they keep asking me for REVIEWS! I already gave one, and I even wrote to them to let them know that I wrote one. I am tempted to give this product a 1 star because of the constant spam. LEAVE ME ALONE.

I do alot of cooking for my big family so having a good knife sharpener in the kitchen is a necessity for me. I Love having a good sturdy handle that I can grip onto while sharpening my knives. Sped up the deer processing!

Purchased this sharpener specifically for keeping our butchering knives sharp while we process deer this fall. We were fortunate enough to harvest four deer and due to the very warm weather we needed to butcher them right away. We use various knives to butcher the deer and we used to use a sander style sharpener to resharpen them during the process. This was quite time consuming and kind of interrupted the 'flow' we would have going. With this sharpener we were able to sharpen the knives very quickly and right at the tables we were working at. Like I stated before, we use various styles of knives and sharpener did them all quickly and put nice edge on them that seemed to last a long time. This sharpener definitely helped us finish up the deer very quickly. I have packed this away to use for next year. I am definitely planning on purchasing another one for the kitchen!!

Let me start by sauing that i have 4 different knife sharpeners, and the Priority Chefs sharpener is the absolute BEST KNIFE SHARPENER I HAVE PURCHASED TO DATE. Bar none. Excellent sharpener, that allows you to touch up your blades or start over for those dull blades. Great results and very well made knife sharpener. I would recommend this sharpener to everyone. Even my Grandmother was able to use this simple sharpener. It is also the safest sharpener I have used. I give it 5 stars because it deserves it and more.
