I did a great deal of research on stainless steel pots and pan sets, and ultimately settled on this set. I was looking for a set that had a thicker bottom, were heavy-duty, and did not contain a non-stick surface (chemicals!), but were still a reasonable price. This set did not disappoint! You can tell they mean business when you pick up one of these heavy-duty pans. I also appreciate that the handle was ergonomic and seems to fit into my hand beautifully when moving these around, helping ease the weighty-ness off of my wrists. I've had other stainless steel that lacked non-stick coating, and not surprisingly, everything stuck to them really badly after a couple of uses. This set is different. I've been using them daily for a couple months now, and still, as long as I use a bit of oil or water, things rarely stick. They're also quite easy to clean, though I picked up some Bar Keepers Friend stainless steel cleaner as well which allows me to clean off anything that doesn't come out automatically in the wash. I cannot say enough about the thick bottoms on these. They retain heat better than even some of my cast iron cookware, and it seems like water even boils quicker in these. I've noticed it takes longer to bring soups and sauces down to a simmer as they do really retain heat, but it's a very minor thing. I really love that the larger of the two saucepans is taller than your average saucepan. I've noticed things rarely boil over because there is so much more space to get to the top. The lids on these are amazing too, and clean beautifully. I can see what is going on in the pot, they let out just the right amount of steam, and they fit very well with no warping even when coming out of the heavy duty dishwasher. I only wish I'd bit the bullet and gotten this set sooner! I am an avid home cook, making nearly everything from scratch several times daily, and I feel like this set will hold up beautifully for ages.

This is a really nice set of cookware. I was searching to buy a 6 quart soup kettle and a 1.5 qt sauce pan when I came across this set. For a little more money I was able to buy the pots I needed and much more. The price of this set knocks the other brands out of the water. This one is the best deal out there! I love the various sizes and the interchangeability of the steamer and lids. One of the things that sold me (other than the great price) was the measurement markings inside the pots. I also like the attractive silver lips around the lids, and that they are all stainless steel. None of the handles get hot when the pots are hot. They are super easy to clean as well. These would make a great shower or housewarming gift too. If you want a nice, expensive looking but very economical set with the pots you need for most cooking, you won't be disappointed here!

I've been able to use the cookware and it is exactly what I wanted. I have watched a couple of videos on YouTube that show how to make your stainless steel nonstick. Heat up the pan up, put oil in it, let it cool down, wipe the excess oil out and then use the pan. I was able to cook in it with minimum sticking but I don't think I needed to do that to cook in them. I've owned cheap stainless steel cookware before, and everything that I cooked would stick to the bottom. This cookware is definitely a high quality cookware. If you use it, the way you're supposed to cook in stainless steel, there is minimal sticking. It's not nonstick cookware. I've also owned high-end professional restaurant quality stainless steel cookware and I would say Cook's Standard is equal to that product. I would highly recommend Cook's Standard cookware as a solid reliable, quality product for structure, even cooking and looks when compared to high-end cookware. I was a little skeptical at first because of the price. I wasn't sure about the quality I was going to get, but after purchasing and using, I'm very happy. I feel Cook's Standard met my requirements and is everything I was looking for in a set of cookware including being affordable. I just received this cookware set and almost don't want to cook with it, it's so beautiful and shiny. My first impressions as I unboxed the set was that each piece had a solid weight to them, nice structure and the handles aren't flimsy. I recently purchased a skillet from Oster, but the handle bent the first night I cooked in it as I lifted it from the range to the sink to drain liquid. That was disappointing. Needless to say, I was a little cautious when I saw the same style of handles on this set but I decided to purchase anyway because of the positive reviews specifically on the handles. I was not disappointed, the handles are a sturdy, thick gauge material that are soundly fastened to the cookware. I will have family over this weekend and I'm excited to breaking them in. I will update my post once everyone's gone and I've had a chance to clean them up again.

Bought the 11 piece set about 2 moths ago. We have been regularly cooking with the skillet and the 2 small saucepans almost daily. Every few washes I use S.O.S soapy steel wool pads to clean the skillet and saucepans to a like new look. About a week ago... We had my wife's tween sister over and she was helping clean dishes. She put the Skillet in the dishwasher by accident. The skilled washed clean but the finish was really dull and hazy. I was thinking she might have ruined it, but I got the S.O.S wool pads out and had it looking like new in about 10 min. We were very happy that dishwasher didn't ruin the skillet. i would really recommend to keep these away from the dishwasher. I have seen similar sets at local box stores and our big club warehouse stores too. The quality of this set is nicer and its better priced than any of that stuff.

These are beautiful considering what you pay for them. They are very well made. They come packaged to with stand any rough treatment the USPS can give them . The Box was marked "HEAVY" ....and it was. Upon opening the manufactures box you are immediately greeted with a lot of protective wrapping ...then you get to that ...first piece ...Wow! this is nice , heavy , and well made.... and you begin to congratulate yourself for being such a savvy shopper. After washing them with vinegar and hot soapy water, I felt like I needed to celebrate my good fortune with some pop corn , so I get my new 3 qt. put in some peanut oil and popping corn brought it up to temp.... popped my corn,... put in a movie ....ate my pop corn,.....then I wanted to see the bottom of my new 3 qt..... It looked fine... nothing out of the ordinary ....but to my surprise the little bit of peanut oil left....was dried like a varnish on the bottom of the pot ? .......I had my heat setting to High .....I was use to the old beater that I use to used to pop my corn in.. ...So I put some water in the new 3 qt. put it back on the burner (low) ...let it get warm. Then with vinegar, soap and the help of an old scruffy pad began to scrub ...it came off ...the pot looks great.... .For what you are getting ....These are a great buy.

Great pans. They heat quickly and cook food flawlessly. Make sure you Google or YouTube how to season stainless steel pans, otherwise you will burn your pans like the other idiots who have burned their stainless steel pans. You don't have to season the pots though. Update 9/18/2016: The glass lid for the large pot just randomly shattered completely. All the glass shattered randomly. I was watching TV when I heard glass shatter. I went into the kitchen and the lid had shattered. It did not fall, nothing fell on it, it did not go from hot to cold or anything like that. It just completely shattered by itself out of the blue. Not sure how or why. Now my large pot has no lid.

I've been working with teflon pans for years and while I still have one (along with my cast iron and ceramic pans, just for diversity's sake) these are my new favorites. After relocating, I was looking for all new cookware and decided against teflon due to their lack of durability. yes, with proper care and whatnot they last ages but eventually the non-stick liner will flake and scratch and I'd rather not accidentally eat any teflon. This set had held up beautifully so far and it so incredibly well constructed that I can tell it's going to last me a very long time. The bottoms of all the pots and pans is very thick and heavy to allow for even heat distribution, I've had no problems with scorching so far. The handles never overheat which is a problem I always have with my cast iron pans. The glass lids are very durable and have survived my clumsiness with no scuffs, scratches or cracks. I try to handwash them but more often than not I'm way too lazy and just toss them in the dishwasher and they always come out absolutely gleaming. As with most stainless steel it's best not to tempt fate and leave them sitting in water for too long (which I of course do on a regular basis...) and I did notice some discoloration on the frying pan where the base of the pan meets the body but a sprinkle of Bar Keeper's Friend cleared that up immediately (**Definitely get a canister or two if you're looking to buy steel pots and pans, it keeps them looking like new and gets rid of any scorches and stains with little to no elbow grease**) Overall they're this is a really beautiful, durable cookware set at a really unbeatable price. I strongly recommend!

AMAZING!!! Burnt one on the first day and it way so easy to clean looked brand new :)

I love this cookware! It is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a heavy bottom for even heating with glass tops (to avoid lifting to see how things are progressing). Gorgeous stainless steel set and I have used it already. I sauteed some chicken and then carmalized onions and prepared a Mediterranean dish in the deep saute pan. I had read previous reviewers instructions about cooking only on low to medium heat and letting the pan heat up first, followed by light coating of oil (I used olive oil) and when that was hot adding my ingredients. I'm happy to report I didn't have any issues with food sticking to the pan. I used to cook on stainless steel....had given that up for some Ultrex non-stick I had purchased 8 years ago. Finally got scared the non-stick might be affecting my health, so I'm so happy to have found this set that is functional, beautiful and affordable at the same time. Thank you Cooks Standard!

bought through Amazon Clearance deals, they were in great shape. bought two sets, and got my friend to buy a set too. If you ONLY cook on low heat, and clean them properly, you'll be able to maintain the finish. If you have a hanging pot rack you can put the handle of the lid over the handle of the pot and hang them together. I'm really happy with this set. Missed out on buying the wok-shaped pan, hope that turns up soon!
