Very good wax.. for the most part..
Great pastels .. box is a bit untidy... Pain in the but to get the paper wrapping off.. My favorite thing about these PASTELS is that they melt in your hand while using them. LOVE THAT.. it opens new things when you have wax sticking to your fingers, colors bleeding into one another. Wonderful pastel that I used 30 years ago in art school! TIP -- you an exacto type blade to take off 1/3 of the paper before using..

These are my favorite oil pastels, I learned to use pastels with this same brand. And had to order more. They do need warming up and can be rough at first, but once you get working with them they're beautiful and so fun to blend. Here a picture I did with only the pentel pastels. I got the 50 pack.

Recommend for anyone building up their ARTsenal.
To be honest, I’m not typically a huge fan of oil pastels (they remind me too much of crayons lol), but they’re good to have in your art arsenal, of course, since they’re oil based and reject most paints, you can make some cool stuff with them. Anyway, I held off, for the reasons mentioned above, but when I saw these for under $4, I knew I had to try them. Partially hoping they were good, but not expecting them to be. To my surprise, they’re great and work as well as any other oil pastels I’ve used. Also, they actually blend nicely (say if you draw red over yellow- you get a nice clean orange; That’s what I mean). I drew this random-colored “rainbow” just to try out some colors, and as you can see, they’re very vibrant and pretty. As you can especially see in the bottom colors (purple/blue), if you push hard, they leave a really nice, slick, opaque finish. However, you can also push gently if you want them to be “see through”. Anyone who likes oil pastels as their medium, or who is trying to build up their art kit/art supplies: You’ll be really happy with these. I mean, when do you ever see art supplies this affordable that aren’t absolute garbage? These do the trick. Definitely recommend. They look just as shown in the pictures, and the colors I received were the same as those seen in the picture as well. They come in a cardboard box, on a plastic tray inside. They are individually wrapped with paper (like crayons), but it easily pulls off if it bothers you. It was also wrapped in tight plastic, so the box stayed closed and all of the pastels were inside when I received the package. None were broken. The package came within a day and a half when ordering with Prime. 5/5

I just got it and the colors are very nice! For 50 of them for only $6 is probably the best deal (for this quality) I have found. The day before I saw these, I went to a local art store (Jerry's Artarama) and oil pastels were too expensive. I am also a beginner so I wasn't going to spend $50 on only a 25 set. So I am super happy I found these :]]] Just look at some of the colors!

The Best Price you will find for such a wonderful selection of quality colors.
I Love these Oil Pastels and YOU WILL NOT find a better price anywhere then these ones for sale on Amazon! Especially for a Set of 50 that includes several shades of your Yellow, Blue & Red Primaries as well as your Secondary Greens, (Which I favor) Orange & Purples. It’s nice to have an array of Colors which makes it less difficult then if you had only a few and had to mix all the time. These are also very good Quality Pastels and easy for anyone to work with. As someone myself who is not very artistic, I like using this Medium as these Pastels don’t dry up real quick like Acrylic Paints which gives me time. I think Painting with Pastels is like a Marriage of Finger Painting and sculpting with Clay, I literally push Colors around with my Fingers where I want them and smear them to blend adding or taking away layers to fix my mistakes (I make a lot) and for effect. You can also use a Kneaded Eraser to pick up Colors and something I just Ordered on Amazon Tortillions to blend around edges as I personally am finding that my big fingers can’t get detailed areas with out pushing some adjacent colors I don’t want to shift. I also have found sketching what your going to paint first with a charcoal pencil makes it easier kind of like Coloring you can use the Kneaded Eraser to get your sketch right no worries you’ll cover it with these Oil Pastels, make sure to erase it anyways just leaving a light outline to cover or your pastel will mix with and smear the Charcoal. I think you will Love these Oil Pastels you will for sure continue buying I already bought 2 more after this Purchase! Here is my first Painting of a Sunflower and a Snowman I did next as Christmas Gift. You cac see my other Picture they came in a plastic tray which I left them in to keep organized, but I’ve cut in half to fit in my Easel Drawer.

My 800 art students loved these!
I am a k-3 art teacher. I teach 800 students per week. These were soft and easy to blend with little fingers. The children loved them! They were mostly used up after one project (800 pastel lions) I wish purple had been included. I would purchase these again!

One of the best brands of oil pastel sets on the Market! My absolute favorite.
These Oil Pastels are incredible. I have every single size Set, the smaller more compact sets for traveling. I have two of the 50 Color Sets for usage at home. Very easy to use, great for traveling, because they are very portable and don't mind being shuffled around. Just don't drop them, the oil pastels can crack. Highly pigmented, strong colors, the perfect set for field work and at home. Can be used on several different types of surfaces, like pastel paper, sketchbook paper,( I prefer sketchbook paper), Acrylic paper, Canvas Board. They can be a little messy on your hands, but it comes off easily with a paper towel or just wash your hands with soap and water. One way to insure that the oil pastels don't move around too much in the box is to lay a sheet of paper towel on top of the pastels underneath the clear sheet that holds them in place. I also recommend putting a large rubber band around the box to insure the tray doesn't slide out. I have also tried putting the smaller sets in plastic bags to keep water off them when traveling. I've been using them for almost a year, I'm very pleased with the artwork I've done with them.
