OK, I'm a guy and the kitchen is not really my domain. Being single again I am learning to cook and bake. I always loved the taste of great home made pies. Did my homework and bought 4 of these on sale. With my new gas stove and some help from my lady friends I am now baking some great looking and tasting pies. Being able to view how the crust is doing through the glass pie plates and without having to open the oven is a real plus. The oven temp stays where I want it. One caution though, home made pies can be addicting.

I love these pie dishes! They're deeper than the disposable aluminum pie dishes that you buy at the grocery store, so I have to roll my bottom dough to about 13-14" diameter. I like the depth, though, because it allows me to make pies with extra fruit. (So far, I've only used them for fruit pies and the occasional brownie.) The bottom crust also seems to crisp up well in them. I haven't had any problems with the plates exploding. I usually bake them 30-60 minutes in a 350*F-375*F oven. -- (Daniel's wife)

I was so happy to receive these. They are such a nice size and when presenting a pie, you have a PRESENTATION. I bout the Miles Kimbal Pie Keepers when I bought these and those pies plates fit PERFECTLY in them. I have to travel with these pies and putting them in a container worked perfectly cuz they can stack. These are high quality thick pie plates. I would use other. Believe me, you won't be sorry.,

Note that these pie plates are 9.5" in diameter, so I had to increase my typical pie crust recipe for 9" pies to make enough dough to fit the plates well. But not a problem, and they are truly beautiful. They have replaced my old Corning plates as favorites.

Great pie plates. Use them in heavy rotation. Won't lie, have burned a few pies (my bad) and have dropped them but haven't had one break in it out of the oven. Easy to handle, heavy duty stuff here. Way easy to clean. The price is right for two.

Have not had a bit of problem with this item. Love the scallop edge. Have used repeatedly in 350 oven. I let it soak to remove any burned food. No problem with clean-up after soak. I hand wash everything. Bought these to replace glass pie dishes that were lost in a move. Glad I bought the deep dish size this time, much more useful than regular size. The price was great. Recommend.

I've used this for about 2 years before it EXPLODED. By the way, These are the perfect size, depth and width, to use as a dish to eat pastas, salads, or anything messy. It holds it all in. So i use it as a nice plate to eat out of. That's why I bought it. But I'm cool like that. I've also used this to warm up food. And I've used this many times to bake bread. Maybe once a week. THEN one day I had moment of temporary insanity, I baked bread. Then took it out of oven. Then after I took the bread out, I. Set. It. In. The. Sink....And while it was still smoking hot, yes, I turned on the cold water....BOOM!!!

This is my second time purchasing this set of pie plates. They are sturdy and well-made from heavy glass. The fluted edge is pretty and allows them to be easily moved without damaging the pie crust. They are slightly larger than my other Anchor Hocking pie plates, which means sometimes the filling looks a little less... full. I tend to use them for pies that are bigger, like apple pie. A very good value, since my non-stick pie pans had all corroded and rusted quickly from knife cuts and washing. These go easily in the dishwasher and they look far more attractive.

Pyrex pie plates that are deep, well-made and very presentable. After reading the instruction/care booklet I called the customer service number to be certain about using them in preheated ovens and which oven types are suitable; the representative gave me specific and helpful information.

These are a great size, not too small as my extremely old pyrex pie plates are. These are deep enough to make a deep dish apple pie and a big quiche. The rim around the top makes it easier to grab and hold with oven mitts. My old ones I had to be careful not to drop them and had to put one hand under the pan when removing from the oven in order to make sure had a firm grasp but then didn't feel confident as worried it would slip off that hand even even though I was holding the side with the other hand, Just never felt confident grasping the old pans but I DO feel confident with the nice wide rim on these. Sorry I did not find them sooner!
