GreenWorks - I'm Impressed!
I purchased this item for my husband to replace our gas weed eater/trimmer when we replaced the gas powered lawn mower after that repair would cost more than a new mower. This weed eater has not let us down yet. I am exceptionally happy with this purchase! The weed eater is cordless and has a rechargeable battery, which adds only a slight increase in weight, but doesn't make it uncomfortable to hold. The weed eater is available without the battery and charger, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you already have one. The only different choice I would have made would have been to get the slightly larger one so that battery was interchangeable with our lawn mower, this one is a different battery and charger. However, this battery also fits several other smaller items like the drill, etc offered by GreenWorks. The weed eater itself comes with a replacement string, although we've been using it weekly (sometimes twice a week) since mid April and haven't had to replace it yet. There is a guide for the string and a guard on the weed eater so you can use it to edge without it hitting something like flowers that are near. The weed eater itself isn't too heavy that I can use it for the 20-30 minutes it takes to weed eat and edge the yard and the battery lasts just the right amount of time from about 20-45 minutes. The low end is when we use it in thicker patches of weeds. Overall, the gas powered weed eater we replaced was an expensive brand and exceptionally heavy. GreenWorks wasn't nearly expensive, and is a good quality built product in this weed eater and the lawn mower we purchased as well. I am impressed and am a lifelong customer.

I love having no wire or plug
I love having no wire or plug, and being able to walk around the yard with no interference. It is also easy to put together, and easy to use. I have been using it now for 2 months with no issues.

Super easy to use and light to work with
Very quick and easy to use. I haven't timed it exactly, but the battery lasts long enough for me to do everything I need to do around my 3 acre property in 2-3 charges (it does charge very quickly, about an hour or so). It's great though, no gas to mix, no trouble starting, just pop in the battery and go to town!

A great product
I needed a simpler solution for tidying up my lawn because I hate gas trimmers and corded ones are annoying. This is a great solution and not even very expensive. The battery provides enough power to do my back yard and the HOA does the front so it works out. Charging is fast, the unit is lightweight and very versatile. People gives unfair reviews about the product but fail to recognize the good performance in it. Good battery power, acceptable line feed, versatile design to do different trimming tasks and overall good design. I like mine alot. Plus, they're not even expensive.

this Green Works electric trimmer is light and easy to maneuver
This replaced a gas operated one. It was heavy and my arms hurt when done using it. Well, this Green Works electric trimmer is light and easy to maneuver. Power lasts about an hour. I may get an extra battery to switch out after that first hour. We have a half acre so there is plenty to whack!

Works better than a gas powered
I have used gas and corded units and was wondering how this would do. Last night I charged up the battery and this morning took it out for a run in thick 6-8" growth. Started in the front yard doing areas the mower did not reach than hit the heavy stuff in the back yard. Grass was wet in the hard to reach areas the battery lasted for around 40 min which I feel real good about and know it will last longer as I can keep up on the yards better now. Bonus was able to reach under parked cars that we have on the property. Also love the ability to edge the walks on the fly just reach down and click and twist trim than click and twist and keep going. Comes with a 43wh battery I may get a 86wh battery for the extra battery range. All in all I was very happy on performance and it also was easy to put together the handle pole slips together and fully adjustable so is the handle, the guard is held with 3 screws also the guard wire slips on and can be removed easy. Comes with a extra line spool and cap and the line is .065" and strong.

Really excellent quality, with well thought out features
I bought this primarily because it was the same price as a battery and charger. That's right, if you need a spare battery you can get the trimmer free, or choose instead a blower. I chose this because it had very good review. After I assembled it I tried it and found that it did a great job. Most of the weight is in the motor end. unlike a gasoline one. The cutting line is metal wrapped and cuts extremely well. No gas and almost no noise. I'm very pleased!

SMALL BUT CAPABLE
So far, this little trimmer has worked great. I used it to replace a gas trimmer I had on a 2 acre lot. I've gone "around" twice, so far, on one charge. It appears to be able to do everything I need it to do.

Five Stars
I did all the weed eating I wanted done, and still had plenty of battery.

Greenworks 12-Inch 24V Cordless String Trimmer/Edger
The trimmer works great! Light weight compared to gas trimer also much easier to start just press the trigger. It does have a safety that has to be depressed and it is in somewhat of bad location. Also you have to keep pressing the safety to keep it running. The battery has I think a short life span and needs to be recharge often depending on the size of area one is working. The good news is the battery charge fast! This is a self-feed stringer, no bumping to increase string. Just stop and start the unit to increase string. This is a great trimer say for the home owner but not for commercial. I have tried this unit on some tough weed and it seems to handle the job but I would use a gas trimmer job for such weeds.
