I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a snowblower so I took a chance on this, and I'm happy I did. It works as advertised. It easily throws the snow 20 or so feet. I've used it 3 or 4 times now. I waited to write this review to make sure the product was good. I seen some negative reviews. The snow shovel blower is not as easy too use as a regular blower. I would not recommend it to someone who is very old, but anyone with average strength should be able to easily operate it. When I first got the blower, I accidentally hit a steel dog dish. Steal is stronger than plastic thus I broke the auger blade. I recommend becareful you don't hit any big solid objects with it. I registered the product, than called them that I broke the auger blade and they sent a new one out for free. Anyone with a little bit of mechanical knowledge and decent tools can replace the blade themselves. I can't say it was an easy task, but I got it done and it works great. The snowjoe snow blower is a great product. It's not indestructible, and it does take a little know how to maintain and put together. Watch the videos. For the price it is a great value. Very happy with it. I actually enjoy using it. It is a lot better than using a regular snow shovel and a whole lot cheaper than a big snowblower. The battery last for about 40 minutes as advertised. If you have a big job than buy an extra battery. I will be buying an extra battery soon, but I have been able to do my driveway and walks, front and back yard, on one battery charge. But I want an extra battery as back up if I do encounter a big job that needs to be done.

I purchased this electric snow shovel just in time for a historic blizzard that dropped roughly 30+ inches of snow in my area. Long story short -- this thing is a life saver!!! It was like having a mini snow blower and I couldn't imagine trying to shovel 30 inches of snow without it. Item arrived in just 2 days, was extremely easy to assemble (about 5 minutes), battery charged up in roughly 3 hours, and I was ready!! With a good charge expect to get about an hour of continuous use with it. Couple of suggestions, use either Pam or WD-40 on the blade to prevent snow from building up. In addition, you'll want to hit the snow while it's still fresh and not frozen. I was able to clear 30+ inches of fresh snow in about 1/4 of the time with this little gadget. Pros: Portable Lightweight Strong Easy Assembly Cordless Electric (no gas or oil to deal with it) Throws Snow 20-25 Feet Cons: Battery shield easily pops open when in use Handle shifts a little bit with heavy use

So far so good! I've already put this little monster to work and worked it hard. I put the battery on the charger last night and went ouside with an extension cord. I widened my driveway, the walkways and dug out my car from 3 feet of snow. I will admit that I'm in a high and dry climate so our snow here is world class and easy to blow as long as it doesn't warm up. Day 2: I already did a fresh 4" on my entire driveway this morning on the battery and it juuuust made it. my driveway is about 20' x 70'. I'm still happy. I do have to say that this is still a workout. it's different muscles than shoveling so expect to be sore the first time. You will be pushing and pulling and lifting 20 pounds repeatedly until done but you are also getting rid of the snow that normally you would have to scoop with a shovel and lift over the snow bank. Have fun!

Bought this to help clear my mother's front and rear walkways at her house. Had a 6" snow fall in NJ yesterday. Did the front walkway 30 ft, the rear 50 ft, her deck 18x18, her front steps 5, and used it to dig out around my mailbox. All this and the battery had 2 lights out of 3 still lit! It's also nice to know I can plug it in if the battery dies and keep using it. It throws the snow far, but use it with the wind, not against it since it throws the snow far and almost straight upend you will get tons of snow in your face. One other issue is that there is no way to have the snow come out any other way than straight. No left or right, so you need to plan so you don't add more snow to the area that hasn't been touched or put snow back in the area you just did. It's somewhat heavy and long. You could accomplish the same with a shovel, but it would take longer and you would be sore and exhausted. I would recommend.

I had a feeling this would be a great little tool for the front walk and back deck. It is. The Snow Joe iON13SS showed up two days before the big blizzard we're getting in DC. It assembled very easily and no tools were necessary. After about 4 inches had fallen, I took it outside to try it out. It did a fantastic job on both the front walk and the back deck. Some of the reviews commented on the distance it threw snow. I'd say the 25 feet is likely correct depending on the type of snow you're dealing with. This cordless snow shovel is fairly light weight and well balanced. I even had the feeling I could have done the driveway with it if need be. As we're only about 7 or 8 hours into a 36-hour blizzard, I'll be back outside a few more times before this is over. I'm really glad I got this and I have to say, it's kind of fun to use too!

I bought this to clean my deck and steps. It was able to move a foot of snow off the deck, although I had to take my time. The power is great! A helpful hint when assembling-- it is impossible to insert the upper tube into the lower tube-Save time and swearing by removing the 3 screws on the base of the lower tube, pull the tube up and it will allow the upper tube to insert. Make sure the upper tube is NOT upside down when tightining the mounting screw, this too will invoke swearing. Replace the 3 screws and the machine is ready. Good luck.

This thing is a life-saver. It's a little hard for me to lift, but I'm not exactly the strongest person in the world. It easily clears a 13x6in swath of powder and it'll dig your car out in less than 5 minutes. It doesn't work as well on ice, but neither does a regular snow shovel and it does help a lot. The rechargeable battery is genius, since I didn't want to deal with electric or gas.

This is like a shovel that moves the snow for you, a really small easy to handle snow blower. I have back problems and picking up the snow and dumping it over the side of the deck leaves me in pain for days. The Snow Joe works as advertised, the snow really does get thrown quite the distance. I have used it on snow that was 3 days old (that is when I got the unit) and it was able to clear my deck in no time. I use this on my deck and sidewalk and front porch. It would be nice if you could direct the snow in other directions instead of straight in front, but that has been a very small inconvenience. The unit was easy to put together and seems very sturdy. I have not had the battery cover problems that some people have had.

I am seventy two years old and was so happy to have this delivered before a snow! Thankfully two gentlemen were here when it arrived and I asked them to help me get it out of the box, yes it is that clumsy! Fortunately also that they were moved by the guilt trip that I said I would not mention if they left me alone to try to get that handle together (yes, it was that difficult). But I charged the battery and then ventured out onto my driveway.......It worked great......it was a heavy wet snow by then but it moved it without difficulty. I plan to use it to clear my porch and deck and steps and a trail for the dogs, which should be fine! The only drawback is that it is heavier than I thought, but probably not for most people

I was surprised how this Snow-Joe Corded-cordless machine works. Running on battery alone, I really didn't expect it to throw snow so powerful and chomps through the harder snow on the bottom. The only down side to this machine is that you can only throw forward, but it throws it so far forward away that it doesn't matter too much. The downside for me is it is not height adjustable, so I find it a little too tall, and with the location of the battery makes it sort of top heavy; I feel the manufacturer could have put the battery further down on the front of the handle or midway as opposed to the top. A man probably won't find all these problems but for a female, it will be a bit cumbersome. The battery, fully charged, goes a very long way.
