Great Stopper and Cute to Boot!

This thing is multi-use without even meaning to be! It's just so darn cute, my daughter loves to play with it when we aren't using it as a tub stopper. I love that it has a little suction cup to help it stay in place or to hang it on the wall to dry out after bathtime. Have recommended it to other moms already!

Love this item, we purchased because we have all the other hop skip bkue whake items for our little boys bathroom. Was a bit skeptical because of mixed reviews but we are so pleased with our purchase

Works fine for me!

I have no children, I just wanted a cute stopper for my drain for the off occasion I decide to soak in a bath. I have a tub with rounded edges and a raised metal grate screwed in to my drain to catch hair and whatnot. Previously I would have to get a screwdriver to remove the grate before I could stop the tub with one of those rubbery stoppers with a chain that sits inside the drain hole a little bit to get my bath ready. Then after I soaked in the water for a while and got all relaxed and wanted to get out, I would have to turn back into Tim the Tool Man Taylor and screw the grate back on. I found this and purchased it despite the mixed reviews so I could have a stopper that works with the grate. I just tried it for 15 minutes as a test with enough water in the tub just to cover the whale, and it worked for me! No issues with suction, seepage, floating, etc. I think if you have problems with this device then it must be because your drain opening is too big (which should be a non-issue since I imagine that to be a pretty standard hole size but what do I know), or if there isn't a wide enough flat surface around the drain hole (i.e. your tub has rounded edges that are way too close to the drain). Otherwise this really should work! I also like the suction cup to hang it up to dry in the tub before I put it away (or if you use it daily, for storage). This thing is wonderful.. I was skeptical about it, because of some of the other reviews but it works great. It keeps the water in the tub, and stays suctioned to the tub floor. We have an old porcelain tub, maybe that matters.

Update: Getting close to a year later and this tub stopper is still working so well! I haven't had any issues with it molding, losing suction, cracking, or anything. 2 year old has colored on it with bath crayons, but that seems to be the only "damage" that it has had. My daughter has figuered out how to get it up to drain the tub, but she really doesn't bother it anymore. Seriously, get this thing. I highly recommend it! This Moby tub stopper works so well! I have a tub that has one of those stoppers that has the little knob on it and you pull up to drain, push down to stopper (lift and turn tub drain). This Moby tub stopper fits over it in the open position with no problem! The tub stopper has to be in the open position to create a vacuum seal in order for the Moby tub stopper to work. This product is durable and seems like it will last for a while. My daughter is 14 months old and has tried to pull the Moby off of the bottom of the tub and (so far) has been unsuccessful. It's a great product and keeps from getting toes, fingers, or other body part from being injured on the tub drain and tub stopper.

it is a great stopper. As other buyers said, the original metal stopper with the drain should keep open so the pressure keeps this silicone stopper stay tightly over the drain. Otherwise this silicone stopper will float up. Do NOT close your metal stopper.

Works great, protective & adorable!

I really like this adorable tub stopper. I have read many of the negative reviews, and being ignorant, wanted to try it out for myself. I like Skip Hop products and of course, wanted something of nice quality to match the whale spout cover and floating thermometer that we own. So to in order to understand the big issue of the stopper floating and not holding down (as claimed) to the tub/drain therefore, being ineffective, I went ahead and ordered it to test. Free shipping and returns. Never hurts. This tub stopper works great. Take note of the name, Stopper (therefore, plug, not "cover") With that said, if you fill your tub, have a tub plug of any sort already plugged, and go to place this stopper over the already covered drain, this will not stay down, whether you use the suction cup on it or not. It's simple science. Many plugs stay in place because of water suction. I enjoy this product and use it like so: leaving my drain open (or partially open) I start filling the tub and place the whale over the plug/drain (our plug is a pull up-push down with a small metal knob that sticks up in which I wanted covered/protected so that my daughter would not scrape against it and hurt herself). And that's it. The tub stays plugged and full of water. Whaled stopper stays down. The suction created is enough that my daughter (only 10 months now) is unable to move it. I love this product. Adorable and functional. Bonus, the whale's head is open underneath so that if you do have a drain plug such as mine, with the sharp knob that sticks up under the water, it is wonderfully covered and protects little ones!!! Highly recommend.

Great product

Great water STOPPER. This product stops water from driving on it's own with the original drain plug left open. If you close the original drain plug, the water pressure won't keep it in place and the product will float. Has room in the whale's head for the raised metal drain plug. Can suction cup it to a wall after bath to allow it to fully air dry.

Works well and is cute!

Bought this because my child recently has become afraid of the drain. It is cute, colorful and does a good job covering the drain in the tub. He likes the tub stopper so much that he wants to play with it!
