Best five bucks I ever spent! This cable allowed me to copy all the important stuff from my iPhone 4 (contact list, pictures, bookmarks, etc.) to my new Samsung Galaxy J7, with minimal effort on my part. One end of the OTG cable plugs into the Galaxy's micro-USB charging port, and the USB end of your iPhone's charger cable plugs into the other end of the OTG cable. That's it. Then you start Samsung's "Smart Switch Mobile" app on the Galaxy, and it takes over and copies (by whatever means) the data categories that you select in the Smart Switch app, from the iPhone to the Galaxy. Nothing could be simpler. If it encounters an app on the iPhone that has no counterpart in Android, it will suggest one that's similar from the Galaxy App store, letting you to decide whether or not to accept its suggestion. My main dread in switching from an iPhone (IOS) to a Galaxy (Android) phone was the unattractive and painful process of having to manually re-enter my entire list of phone numbers, one at a time, into the Galaxy. This solved the problem. All the other mechanisms of transfer, e.g., iCloud or iTunes back-up and then transfer via Google email, will work but seemed clumsy and unwieldy. The combination of this OTG cable and Samsung's app is simplicity itself. You can download and install the "Smart Switch Mobile" app from the Galaxy App store. The Smart Switch instructions list the restrictions on which devices and operating systems will support the On-The-Go (OTG) transfer mechanism. In addition to the iPhone-to-Galaxy transfer, it also supports Android-to-Android transfers (where the app resides on both the sending and receiving device). You should research it on your own to see if it fits your needs. But for me, Samsung has won me over with this simple and customer-friendly process.

This cable worked great. It converts a male USB to a male micro USB for a cheap price. There is not much else to say here Dimensions of the conversion cable can be seen in the photos I have uploaded. Pros: *Works great *Cheap Cons: *None Additional Considerations: Be aware of what cable you have and want to convert to. This cable has a female USB end that is made for a male USB cable end. It is also limited to USB 2.0 so a USB 3.0 cable will be dumbed down. Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 stars If you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I wanted to downloaded books from the BARD website onto my Fire Kindle, unzip them and put onto a flash drive. I didn't even know if this was possible, no idea what the "adapter" would be called. All I knew was that I needed a micro usb on one side and a male usb on the other side, also OTG (in case you don't know what this means, which I didn't, it's On The Go) I love it!! Took me a little playing until I figured out exactly how to put it on the flash drive, but figured it out. Did have to download File Commander (free in app store). The rest was trial and error. The only reason I'm writing all of this is because I couldn't find anything out there to tell what I needed or how to do it. Every article led me to another with a new app I needed to download. Horribly confusing. Finally, found out on the Amazon forum thingy that Fire Kindles are OTG. Once I knew that, I took the chance on this adapter. Very glad I did. Now, the item itself is of excellent quality. Came in a small, thick, zip lock bag that I use for storage. Short cord, feels like a thick rubber covering. Plastic for the adapters themselves, but they don't feel cheap. I had it plugged into my Kindle with a flash drive connected to it and as I mentioned it took me some time to figure it out, flapping there at the top, being put down and picked up. No cracking, no damage at all. Very well made. I hope someone else trying to find some information about Fire Kindles, OTG, and transferring information finds this review. Hopefully it will save someone some time!! I hope this helps.

I specifically got this to use with my ASUS T100 10-Inch Wide Laptop [2014] so that I'd have a full USB port when it's not docked with the keyboard. This is pretty much a must-have for anyone with any sort of non-Apple tablet though. I'm not going to nitpick things like the housing or design, but overall the quality of the cable itself is very good. It does what it should do and I am not using it for something like connecting external disk drives or SSDs, so data transfer rates are not exactly a concern here. What I specifically got it for was to connect a Casio CAS PX150 BK 88-Key Touch Sensitive Privia Digital Piano with Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action (2012 MODEL) to my tablet for use with the Synthesia app. Tablet has no problem recognizing the keyboard with this as an intermediary and potential point of failure, so I am very satisfied.

For such an inexpensive cable, it works very well. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, and the first time I used this cable to connect a USB thumb drive to the phone, it worked perfectly. The phone itself automatically starts its built-in file explorer, and you simply see the thumb drive as a third option for working with files (internal storage, SD card, and now the USB thumb drive). I tried playing an mp3 file from the thumb drive to test it out, and it worked as if I were playing it directly from the phone, so I suspect any file type would launch from the thumb drive normally. This cable is great to have around if you need to move files off of your phone to get more space, etc., which is why I bought it. Definitely 5 stars for this little cable.

The cable is sturdy, well made and came new in its original package. Initially the cable did not work with my Samsung Note 4. But I have since found this is not the fault of the cable. Apparently, the Android operating system, at least on Note 4's does not recognize the NTFS formatted file system often used on large capacity USB flash drives. This is the USB flash drive file system most people would be using with this cable. In order to read/write a USB flash drive with NTFS you must download and install an app to your Android phone called Total Commander. Once installed it will ask for permission to install a USB plugin. Once the app and plugin are installed the cable will work perfectly as advertised. The full instructions for the app are available on Google.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 from ATT (US) With a simple cable i was able to use my phone to: 1. Read USB drives. (any drive i threw at it) 2. Type via keyboard. (A logitech K400r) 3. Control via mouse. (A wireless one) 4. Record via USB mic. (Samson Meteor) 5. Control the device as well as play games via gamepad (Logitech F 710)

Just to begin, I bought and paid for this product, and was NEVER asked, or bribed, to give a good review in turn for a free product. I tend to review everything, and always honestly. I've only had this cable for about a week, but I can definitely say the this cable seems to be highly compatible across phones. It allowed me to connect, and then format to the correct file system, a Sandisk 64GB Slimfit USB 3.0 flash drive. It's fairly new, very small, and holds 160mbyte/s speeds when transferring to it, from a PC with USB 3.0. So, pile that situation on top of hoping for compatibility with a Galaxy S7 Active (Snapdragon, USB 2.0) on Android 6.0.1, and I won't lie, I wasn't sure this cable would work with what I have. I was wrong, it detected that drive immediately, and my phone let me know it needed to be formatted. (Didn't take long, but the incompatible file system caused my phone to corrupt all the data). No big deal, and absolutely my fault, I let Android format the drive. It was done in no time, and I've had no issues since.

Had to purchase this for my Samsung Galaxy S7 and it worked immediately after plugging it into the phone. Used this for an Endoscope for my phone. Downloaded free software and had this working perfectly. I also discovered that I could use my Logitech PC webcam as well, the video quality was outstanding. Very happy with this purchase. Pros: Great Price Good Quality Works with my cell phone case Seems like it will last for years. **The USB Adapter allows for me to add multiple functions to my cell phone - WORKS WITH USB KEYBOARDS. Worked with one that my PC requires drivers for. Cons: None

Decent quality, reasonable (-ish) price point and it plugs and plays just like it's supposed to. Haven't had any issues with one or another USB device not working. That is, everything that I've tried so far has worked including a USB adapter to a SNES controller. The only USB device that I can think of which wouldn't work, would be one requiring specific drivers for which Android and other mobile operating systems are lacking. This is generally due to the lack of development of such mobile drivers by the peripheral manufacturer question and have little, if nothing to do with a hole expected to be filled by Android and/or other mobile operating systems- and for that matter, this USB OTG Cable device in general has little do to with that kind of issue. The only reason I mention this is because I imagine some people are wondering why certain USB devices do not work. Again, this would most likely be because the device you are trying to use requires proprietary drivers which the manufacturer probably never created for Android. If they do exist, you best install them via the manufacturer website or something.
