The unit arrived on schedule and in perfect condition. The packaging was "box within a box" with Styrofoam padding to prevent damage in shipment. It was easy to unpack and came with easy directions for setup. My "Energy Star Upright Freezer" runs quiet and provides me with three cubic feet of easy access to frozen food. However, the temperature control knob is located at the back and a setting change will require pulling the unit forward from the wall.

perfect size that I’ve been looking . It’s fit perfectly in the space I have under my counter.

We bought this to supplement the refrigerator freezer. We've been using it to store bags of ice that I need to ice my knee after surgery, but we've found it's handy to save $ at the grocery store when things are on sale that we wouldn't ordinarily have room for.

Just my size, I live in a small place and needed extra freezer space. Arrived just fine and I was able to move it into the house with little problem. Unpacking was a bit more difficult due to good packaging for transit. I've had this now for almost 2 years and uses very little energy, with no measurable increase that I see on my electric bill. I'll need to defrost it soon, but for over 18 months w/o defrosting, I'd say that was reasonable. It runs very quiet and I do check for any hot spots (for safety) and it's always cool.

So far great. five 28.2 oz Digiorno pizzas fit in the top basket.

Keeps food very cold. Runs really quietly. Saved me $15.00 off my power bill !

Got this to replace a set of Sub Zero freezer drawers that lasted 24 years and just too expensive to replace, so I was used to a quality product. So far, so good. I keep it my office and it's quiet (you can sleep right next to it - decibels about 48 from 3 ft. away when the compressor is running but that reads much louder than it sounds and I'm noise sensitive). I like the baskets because I have a lot of bagged things, but they are flimsy. 3 CF is NOT that much room, but I use it for seasonal overflow, for example freezing the tomatoes I'll use in the coming year and extra quarts of soup and broth. It arrived in perfect condition (one reason I picked this over 2 other options which seemed to come damaged a lot). Set up was easy. One BAD thing: the temperature control is not only in the back, but on the bottom. I need it a notch higher, but I don't want to risk scratching my stone floor to pull it out.

So far so good. It's the perfect size for the corner of my garage. My freezer in the kitchen just wasn't big enough. I plugged it in and let it run for a day, then added food. Freezer thermometer reads 0 degrees.

After several delivery false-alarms, this item arrived last evening. Exterior packaging was great: box inside box with corner braces and not too much styrofoam. Internal packaging was subpar: as I opened the freezer I found a broken piece of plastic on the bottom. This plastic shard came from the trim on the top layer of cooling coils. This trim faces each of the cooling coil "shelves" and the ends serve as a stop to keep the baskets from sliding off the shelf when pulled. Well, that stop is kind of dangling; see photo. For all the shelves, the trim was supposed to be secured with small zip ties; instructions say to remove these ties before use. I only had to remove one--all the others were either just zipped to themselves (vs holding the trim to the shelf) or just not there. One of the unsecured trim pieces was kind of dangling upon arrival and had to be snapped into place. This all suggests that quality control at the packaging stage was subpar and may have contributed to trim breakage. Or, perhaps this product was damaged/returned beforehand and shipped to me as is. The price difference between this freezer and other "Amazon choice" 3 cubic foot upright freezer seems to hinge on the built-in feature of sliding shelves. We are paying $89 more for this feature (really for 2 wire baskets--the other brand does include one bottom wire drawer). One could buy a lot of baskets/trays for that amount to optimize space use and storage capacity. So I am rather regretting my choice of this product (as in, I chose the one with baskets just to be done with it, now I have to repair the dang thing because shipping it back for this issue would be ludicrous). UPDATE: freezer reached -10F in about an hour once plugged, using a temp setting of 4. So far, so good. UPDATE after 1.5 years in use: upped to 5 stars because so far it's working great and I've gotten over the annoyance of the packaging/quality control issues. I had to defrost it today (accidentally left it kinda open, oops) and that went very quickly. The sliding drawers have been convenient to quickly throw stuff in without letting in a lot of cold air out.

just arrived so this review is on the shipping, packaging and overall look of the unit. I'm posting this now because I REALLY went back and forth about spending the extra $$ to get THIS model instead of the #1 best seller on amazon that had some great reviews and was priced around $178.00 with free shipping. BUT after reading reviews about how many times the unit was damaged INSIDE a perfectly undamaged box, I decided to go with this one, although a few ppl mentioned this one too was damaged IN the box. well mine came in perfect shape. looks REALLY nice and I am very happy so far. because it was on its side in the truck we are waitng to turn it on until later this evening, as we have heard that's better for the Freon, etc. that's all I have for now. 2 days later update: turned on and put foods in, set at 4 and ready to go. the unit is running perfectly and is mostly quiet. I'm very pleased with my purchase so far. 2 years later, still going strong, no issues what-so-ever. a perfect purchase (O: Update: Aug 15, 2016 still working and running GREAT so glad I bought this one!! its quiet (and its been HOT here this summer) and everything inside is frozen rock solid. no issues what-so-ever!
