Can I give it 6 stars?
Lazy to cook meat but having a little carnivorous boy I got this "mommy helper". And I am blaming it for 100% increase of meat consumption in our household!! Super easy to clean, which is the biggest + ... just unclick the top and bottom plate and wash like any plate [hand or dishwasher] ... very fast to heat up. Vertically small so easy to store. And the drip tray is separate which is brilliant for ease of manipulation and washing. And the rest is just up to your imagination [seasoned chicken breasts, hamburgers...]

Super Ceramic
I bought this for the special ceramic grill plates, but it has several features that are more efficient than my 3-year-old panini maker. (1) The heating elements are all enclosed. (2) The plates are super easy to remove, but the food slides off so easily I wipe them clean and don't need to put them in the dishwasher. (3) My counter space is limited, but although the GRP492P is two inches wider than my old one, it seems more compact and is a lovely sleek design. (4) The cooking surfaces are 12 inches wide, so it depends how big you want your hamburgers as to how many you can fit in. (5) I keep the grill on a 1/2-inch thick cutting board, and when I want to level the cooking surface, I simply move the back legs off the edge of the board. (6) For safety I use a time-off timer in case I forget to unplug it. (I have Wood or Belkin timers for everything that's not safe to leave on too long, i.e lots of timers, but the expense is well worth the peace of mind.) (7) Last but not least, how well does this grill cook with a set temperature and no degree indicators? Fantastically. It's so much simpler to work with time instead of dials. I'm very glad I treated myself to this new appliance, which also handles many items that my toaster oven does, but is so much easier to clean. Go George!

stays smooth with no apparent scratching or bubbling far better than the teflon-coated variants that we have previously used
As with all george foreman products, "X-serving" is of course dishonest so ignore that. My previous grill had just enough room to cook 2 quarter pound beef paddies, this one is the same depth and a little wider so it could probably fit another half a patty to the side, or an extra chicken strip or something. 3 months of use so far and the removable plates do clean well in the washer, do reject grime that stays cooked on for a dozen previous uses, stays smooth with no apparent scratching or bubbling far better than the teflon-coated variants that we have previously used. This isn't the first removable plate unit I've worked with, and like it's predecessors removable plates means that some oil may get between the plates and their housings. This will lead to some adhesion making the plates a little obstinate to remove, and discoloration of the metal backing behind the plates, but in my experience no real significant inconveniences.

Easy to use and consistent
Let me preface this by saying I am an incredibly poor cook. I'm pretty good at pancakes, mediocre at omelets, and for all intents and purposes incapable of anything else. I'm the person who can't boil water without messing it up somehow. I also love steak with a passion and have ruined dozens of them trying and failing to cook one. Someone at work suggested I try a George Foreman grill and I was skeptical, of course. Still, I bought one. The setup was easy, just needed to rinse off the two ceramic plates, pop them on, and put the grease catcher under it. The instruction booklet came with a basic guide for how long to cook things like steak and salmon, so I began. The first thing I loved was how idiot proof the operation is. There are no buttons, no dials, and two lights. Plug it in and it starts heating up. When the green light turns off, it's ready to cook. No aerosol spray needed and evidently it shouldn't be used regardless. So I put a little butter and salt on my steak, threw it on the grill, closed it, and waited 5 minutes. Opened it up, sliced open the steak a bit, not quite done. Two minutes later, I had an excellent steak which took practically no effort and definitely no cooking ability. This grill removes most of the variables of cooking. I have trouble with recipes because they're too vague. Medium could mean anything from 30% to 70% on the stove, and between different types of metals, different stoves, and other variables there's a lot of intuition and guesswork involved in cooking. Not so with a George Foreman grill. Turn it on, throw your meat on there, and wait until it's not raw. That's it. Cleaning is easy, I just wait until it cools off a bit and run it under the faucet, maybe scrub it a bit if I burned my meat. It's dishwasher safe but I haven't found the dishwasher necessary because it really is nonstick. Bonus is it's nonstick without Teflon, so no unpleasantness there. I've set it up next to my (mostly unused) stove, as it didn't quite fit on it due to the coils getting in the way. This being quite honestly the best purchase I've ever made, I didn't mind giving over a little counter space, especially since it doesn't take up much. I've been eating steak and sausage every day for the last week, and will be moving onto other things soon. I've already successfully cooked more meat in the last 2 weeks than in my entire life, so this grill gets 5 stars. The picture shows how it looks in relation to my messy counter and hopefully gives an idea of both the size. The cat which is not supposed to be up there is a bonus!

I have used it several times now and wow it's so easy to clean
Let me start by saying this is a TWO serving grill, not 5 (unless maybe its for 5 chicken tenders?). However, I didn't really need 5 servings and I read the reviews beforehand so I knew what I was getting. I have used it several times now and wow it's so easy to clean!! Most people I have talked to say they avoid using their old GF grills because they dread cleaning them, I was the same way. Now it's like, what can we cook on this?? Also as an added bonus it is ceramic instead of Teflon so it's not giving off cancer causing toxins. Loving this grill!

George Foreman grill is a great cooking option when you can't grill outdoors
Everyone has a george forman grill. These are highly adaptable and I use them for grilling all types of meat (I do have to spray/rub a bit of oil on fish to ensure non-stick) and root vegetables. I have lived in Las Vegas and Oregon, so being able to grill indoors is a big plus. I find these more convenient than grill pans for my stove. I like the removeable grill plates and the larger size. The build quality isn't as good as the originals though, but the price has come down to the point where you can easily replace one when something breaks. Highly recommended

Fantastic price, works fine, super easy to clean
What a bargain! My grill heats up just fine, as long as you let it preheat for 20 minutes. If you do that you get a sear top and bottom. If not, you get lumps of gray cooked meat. It will comfortably hold 3 good sized burgers or 5 burger chain with clown mascot sized ones. I even made cheese burgers with it and the melted cheese stuck to the burger not the grill. How awesome was that?! Anyway, here's what I found: Good: A nice size for a 1 or 2 person meal. Non stick plates are very non stick, and seem good quality, especially for the price.(check the price on one ceramic pan and tell me I'm wrong). Super easy to clean, but based on experience with other "dishwasher safe" non stick surfaces I'm not trusting it to my dishwasher. Cooked a good sized burger to med rare in under 3 minutes after it's heated up. Bad: 20 minutes to heat up not 8 as instructions say. Don't trust the stupid lights. As other reviewers have hinted at they may work and may not, and if they do work, they may be reversed. My unit both lights come on when plugged in and the green light goes off when heated up. That's the opposite of the way it should be according to the instruction. Humorous, but not a huge issue. Tends to flatten burgers out. Since the lid is on a floating hinge it cooks more evenly, but that does allow the lid to put more pressure on burgers, so they do flatten out while cooking. Not an issue with steaks or sandwiches. Overall it was just what I expected, and I love it. At the price, under $50, it can't be beat.

What? Removable grill plates???
This is probably my 3rd George Foreman and the first of the larger sized ones. It is a bit clunky, but that's a fair enough trade off when you take into consideration the removable, almost self-cleaning grill plates! I have three teenagers who do not always clean things they use immediately... I just ran the plates under hot water for a few minutes and the day old caked on chicken-marinade-soaky-stuff slid right off. One of the reasons I have waited to buy another one was the difficulty I have had cleaning them without the removable plates. This sucker cleans up in no time flat! I bought this one after looking at one at WalMart that was about $10 more and really the only bonus to it was the fact that it would stand up on end. I have a feeling this guy is going to become a regularly used kitchen item in the near future as we cook more healthy in my house! Edited to add a picture of the grill in use - 2 huge chicken breasts and one small strippy piece... the large breasts are easily 2 servings each, so there's 5 servings there :-)

My best Foreman grill yet
Been a while since I had a Foreman grill because I don't use Teflon, the ceramic plates are great. They detach and clean up really easy, but first they cook a mean dish. I am totally happy with this grill, the only thing I disagree with is that it cooks for 5, they would have to be some pretty light eaters because I couldn't fit a whole chuck steak on the grill at once. But there's only one of me so this isn't a thing. I started to give it 4 stars for that deception but it wasn't worth a star. This little unit gets all 5 stars from me, definitely a good buy.

I friggin love this thing!
Ok, so it's not as large as you might think it is, it'll hold 2 butterflied chicken breasts or 2 half pound burgers comfortably. The detachable plates make this thing so easy to clean! Get the recommended brush for an extra $10. You'll make 2 passes an the plates will be spotless. Also, use oil for coating the plates, don't use spray. It can eat your plates coating. I cook with this a LOT. As a single guy, this is a no mess, no fuss, very versatile piece of equipment.
