These beans are small, hard, and cement-gray. They require more heat than other South America varieties I have tried but the results are excellent, even with my modest setup. I have a Behmor roaster and I roast 12 oz of these on program #1 for 20-22 minutes, just into 2nd crack, resulting in a full city+ roast. (For reference, I can get the same level with Colombian beans in 16-18 minutes). I drink latte's exclusively and these beans have a lot of flavor that serves well in milk drinks. As with most of my roasts, the flavor is best when using short tight (ristretto) extractions and these beans provide a strong flavor without a tannic after-taste. I don't get a lot of crema compared to some other beans but the flavor is definitely top tier.

I've had some hit or miss experiences buying green coffee on Amazon, but I've been very impressed with this purchase! I'm almost through my 10lb bag and have only had a few 'unfit' beans, and haven't come across a single stone or other debris. The beans themselves roast evenly, and have a versatile flavor profile for different roasts. I usually prefer my roasts on the lighter side, however I find that these beans really excel more toward City+ to Full City (medium dark to dark). They're a bit too bright for me roasted light, but maintain / expose a lot of flavor further into the roast. Value for the 10lbs is great, especially for the quality of beans received! The burlap sac is a cute touch as well, though it sheds quite a bit (I'd still rather have it than not).

Great coffee. I generally roast this to full-city, sometimes just into fullcity-plus, stopping it right at the second crack. It has a full body with a nice aroma. Always been satisfied with the green coffees from Smokin Beans, and of course, you can have them roast them to your preference if you aren't a home coffee roaster -- although you will have to order them from their regular site and not through Amazon, since that is a custom order. Unlike almost any other roaster, if you custom order, you can specify the exact roast level you prefer. Be a bit careful with their burlap bags, if you store your beans that way. It's a nice touch, but the string that keeps the bag sealed is not real heavy, so if it breaks, you'd need to transfer the remaining beans to another container or plastic bag.

I've been roasting my own coffee for about 10 years, so I've got a fair bit of experience and have tried a LOT of different coffees. Picked up 25 pounds of this and I'm very impressed. I took it about 20 seconds into second crack, a little darker than I'd normally do for a Central American, and it's fantastic, one of my all-time favorites. I also noticed that the coffee roasted almost perfectly uniformly, no variation in color, a very good sign. Highly recommended, but experiment with the roast and don't be afraid to take it a little further than you might think.

In my quest for both the healthiest and best flavored cup off coffee i have landed on roasting my own coffee. I have been using Bullet Proof coffee for 1.5 years. It was wonderful! This unroasted coffee is even more pure, and even better tasting. It took me about3 trial roastings to learn and understand how to best roast my morning coffee. Kudos to this company for making these unroasted beans avIlable.

No problems. Good packaging, good product and timely service. I just started experimenting with roasting. Using a rotisserie toaster oven which gets to a maximum of 425 degrees F on the 450 setting. 45 to 65 minutes for 250 grams has been my experience so far. These beans took 54 minutes for a medium roast. I like to experiment with the different coffee flavors and this bean is good enough to order again.

I bought this brand of green coffee because my go-to columbian beans had a giant price increase while these were the price I had been paying for the other beans. Overall I'd say these are just as good for my nice dark yet oily roasts and I get a free burlap bag and all sorts of other info with the beans I didn't get with the other company. I think I'll stick with these even if the other beans experience a price drop!

I'm already working my way through the second 20 lb bag and will order a third soon. These beans have an excellent mild flavor with some fruity notes. I have tried over 25 varieties over the last 3 years and this is one of my top favorite. I am miking custom blends too, but the largest percentage in the blend is Guatemala Antigua...

I have a Behmor 1600 and these beans have a super rich flavor on a medium roast, which I do at 20:30 per pound on P1. The one issue is that the beans are small, so end I always end up with a few stuck in the cage after each roast. Overall great value.

Under $6/lb for Great Guatamalan coffee!! Beats the heck out of paying $14 or $15/lb at Starbucks. I roast these to a medium dark roast and it's absolutely delicious - and friends and dinner guests rave about it. (I end up giving a bunch of gift bags of my custom roast coffee to my coffee affectinado friends). Great stuff!
