Great security device.
Very loud alarm that runs off of one 9v battery. It fits nicely at my intended door which has probably just over 1/4" clearance over the carpet. My only wish is that its red light stayed on when device is turned on; as both a reminder to turn it off when not in use and to point out that it is set in the dark.

Very good door security alarm.
Does what it says it does and more — Acts as a wedge to a door, may slow an intruder down and loudest observed alarm. When activated by a door being opened, the piercing alarm is phenomenally loud. I felt better that the fiancé used it while on travel. Though it will not stop an intruder, it will wake up the user, those around you, and the piercing shriek of the alarm may scare the intruder away. Easily carried in a briefcase, I would recommend this to weary travelers, especially when staying in hotels without your standard “door bar” as found on US hotel doors. Door chains can be easily and quietly cut, allowing an intruder unannounced in your room—F-BOMB THAT! The design of this model has an extended sloped wedge longer than models I bought and compared, which allows the wedge to better slide deeper under a door, further acting better as a door wedge to slow an intruder. Compared to other models, the only negatives I found was lack of directions to install the battery and more difficulty to install the battery (you need a micro hex screw driver to remove the battery cover and then attach wires, where in others you unsnap the battery cover and press in battery). I would recommend this to travelers, especially women travelers (who statistically are at higher risks of more assault related crimes). This device should alert you when someone enters through your door—who wants to wake up with some turd 💩 thug with HIS hand over your mouth and a knife at your throat.....or worse yet, the 💩 doing this to your lady.

those are easy to find/buy
Very sensitive to pressure, and will sound decibel will almost make your ears bleed. You'll be able to hear this from quite a distance in you home. You will need an eyeglass repair sized screwdriver to change out battery, but, those are easy to find/buy.

Hello Alarm, Goodbye Thief
These are fantastic. VERY loud. I put one at the front door without telling my wife while she was out. She came in, the door wouldn't open past it, and the alarm went off. Not only did it scare her, but I was napping in the den and it scared the crap out of me too! Fantastic door alarm that no one should be without in my opinion, even if you have an alarm. I travel a lot for work, and having one at the door in the room is extra peace of mind. Inexpensive enough for you to supply for your family, and even friends. Easy to use as well. Keep in mind that if you set it off, you need to pick it up and turn off manually.

SABRE vs GE
Purchased one each of GE Personal Security Alarm and SABRE Door Stop Alarm for comparison test. The SABRE and GE are very comparable in cost, size, and weight, but the SABRE's features far surpass the GE's. The SABRE's alarm can be heard throughout our 3,800 sq. foot home and is MUCH, MUCH LOUDER than the GE's. GE's alarm stops as soon as the door pressure against it is released, while the SABRE's alarm only stops after the ON/OFF switch on the back of the unit is turned off. Based on my 26 years of experience as a police officer I feel confident in assuring you that the SABRE is far and away the best choice for a very inexpensive, simple to use, and highly efficient door alarm system. I believe the GE Personal Security Door Stop Alarm will disappoint, but the SABRE Door Stop Alarm will exceed your highest expectations!

Just what I was looking for
I wanted something simple and decent priced to use for my basement door while my husband is away at night. I have vinyl flooring outside my basement door and the door stop doesn't slide when the door is pushed against it. It fits perfectly under the door and the alarm, which is plenty loud enough to wake me from across the house, sounds before the door is opened even an inch. It's not likely that anyone will break in through my basement windows but I sleep better knowing I'll be awake to defend myself if they do. I even decided to get one for my garage door that leads into the house.

if it is recommended by someone in the law enforcement industry
This has provided such a peace of mind for me as I am traveling for work. I am an educator and while some may see that profession as one that maintains a place only in the classroom, we educators travel frequently in the summer and during breaks for trainings, seminars, and conferences for updates in our profession. This, sometimes, takes us out of our state, and even on occasion, out of our country. I am currently on such a trip, have just returned from such a trip, and will be embarking on another when I return home. I started to purchase the cheaper alternative when I first began looking for such a device but read the review written by the police officer on this one which is a couple down from mine. I thought, if it is recommended by someone in the law enforcement industry, then that's a pretty good recommendation for safety device (anyone questioning my reasoning skills for any reason need know I am not a science teacher). Typically when traveling for educational conferences, our school board, educational agency, or the state school board (whomever is requiring my travel), will place us in pretty safe hotels, but I'm a light sleeper and don't sleep well away from home. With these door stoppers, I can sleep in peace knowing that if my door was slightly touched I would be woken. Plus, these a LOUD. You do not have to worry about not hearing them. They could wake the dead. I worried originally that I wouldn't hear them if I was in the shower and they went off, but no amount of water pressure could prevent you from not hearing these door stops. I would definitely recommend these for any woman traveling alone, and even for anyone traveling with their families who needs to peace of mind.

Highly recommended
Works as advertised. Gave one to a 20-something female neighbor whose weirdo landlord kept popping in unannounced. She said it worked to block his entry, and they both heard the loud shrill of the security alarm. I've just bought one for myself and will take it on trips because I've had too many occasions where I've been awoken by the sound of someone trying to gain access to my room in the middle of the night. We've also tested this at home. I have concrete floors with an LL Bean rubber-backed rug at the entrance, and this wedge is high enough to stop the door, whereas others did not. Highly recommended, for both safety and peace of mind. Would suggest wearing earplugs while setting it up and testing it the first time (I wanted to know what it sounded like). The alarm is as loud as my commercial security system. Easy to use. Highly recommended.
