I got this for outside since my outdoors grill doesn't have side burners and I must say that am impressed, I just cooked bacon and it warmed pretty good, I put it all the way to the Max and my Bacon came out nice and cooked just like if I had cooked it in my kitchen stove. UPDATE: I am from Miami and we just experienced a Hurricane (Irma) and I must say that this little cooktop did the work, we have a generator so this was very handy to have, my mom used the bigger burner and cooked breakfast for a party of 8 and also warmed up lunch.

This is my main stovetop at home after the cheap farberware one broke for no reason. It looks amazing, very high quality construction, my waring pro mini convection oven matches perfectly with stainless steel, black and even similar steel tubes. This product seems to get hotter faster than the farberware version from walmart. The large burner can actually boil water in a large pot, nice. I am not sure if I will need steel wool or maybe a little polish for some stains but hey that is stainless. This burner top looks absolutely gorgeous and almost seems like a commercial quality construction, I hope it lasts!

Hi Shoppers, I bought this cooktop 2 years ago. I waited to post a review, I wanted to see how long this stove would last. I use this everyday in my studio apartment. I Absolutely Love this stove!!! I have not had any problems with it. I looked at several stoves at Walmart etc...the stoves I saw at this price were very cheap in quality. I am so Happy I bought from this company on Amazon. This is a high quality stove, you can't beat the price. Easy to clean, and looks Great! I highly recondmend this stove!!! Thank you.

I bought my Duxtop electric double burner because the management of the apartment building was doing a upgrade on the gas lines and thought I would be without the use of my stove for at lease six weeks. This item caught my attention because it was stainless steel and pretty to look at, but more importantly it cooks great the burners heats quickly and evenly, I've cooked omelettes, beef stew, chicken dish, boil water, etc, everything I've cooked on this burner came out yummy. Even though the upgrade to my gas line was completed way earlier than expected I will continue to use my burner and if my stove stop working, no problem I have my Duxtop. I also appreciate that their customer service team send me informational emails in case I encounter any problems or have concerns. Great product, very pleased.

As a professional electrician, electrical instructor and accomplished cook I can be pretty demanding of any type of equipment I purchase - electrically powered or otherwise. This duel burner hotplate did not disappoint. It is sturdy, good looking and the burners nicely fit any pot or pan I have in a much more stable manner than the older single burner a friend had loaned me. I recently moved to a new place with no range, and since I have to pay for propane and the electricity is included in the rent, this purchase was a no - brainer. I use the hotplate daily as my primary cooking appliance, and while it has been and adjustment I'm very pleased. The 1300w burner is a work horse and does any task my old propane range top burners did. The 500w is perfect for smaller pot or pans and more delicate foods. This appliance is a very good value, and if your in the market for a two burner hotplate you'd have a hard time going wrong with this one...

This is a nice looking portable cooktop with a brushed stainless steel finish that heats up fairly quickly, holds a decent size pot or pan, and could be useful in many situations. We used the large side to boil water for spaghetti noodles, and also used the small side to heat marinara sauce for that dinner. In both cases its performance exceeded my expectations, so we would recommend this unit to those looking for such a device. We found that a 3 quart cooking pot covers this cooktop's large burner perfectly, so pots & pans of that size and smaller seem to be what that side of the cooktop is made to handle. On the other burner we used a medium sized, copper bottom stainless steel sauce pan, and again that was just the right thing to place on that side. This unit heats up the cast iron plates fairly quickly, and transfers that heat very well to the pot. With six to eight cups of water in the 3 quart pot, this cooktop brought the cold water to a boil in about 10 minutes. The sauce pan on the other side was warmed fairly quickly too. Job well done. While this is a portable device, you need to put some thought into where you are going to place it and how you are going to haul it around: From side-to-side (ends of the handles) it is about 21 inches wide, and it is about 9 inches from front to back. The cooktop weighs in at just under 8 pounds, and it stands about 4 inches high (from bottom of the feet to the top of the handles). Since the user guide warns that this unit gets very hot while in use and need to have at least 4 inches of clearance all around, you need to set it on a surface that can withstand high heat and has a clear areas of at least 30 inches x 18 inches. We used this cooktop on the center island in our kitchen, plugging it in to an outlet on the side of the island and keeping other things away from it. While the unit heats fairly fast, its body gets very hot too therefore that caution is warranted. Quite nicely, the "cool touch handles" actually do stay cool to the touch, allowing you to use them to move the hot unit around a bit if needed. Given its stainless steel finish and construction, the cooktop feels like it has a quality build though it does take a while for the steel and cast iron plates to cool down (we gave it about 30 minutes to cool after use). If living in a smaller place without a complete kitchen, maybe a dorm room (if they allow this type of device) or a boarding room at school, or even a cabin that has electricity, then this might be just the item you need to help prepare warm meals... just make sure that you have a place to use it that has a safe zone around it so as not to be impacted by the heat of the body. It works well and is an affordable option. This might be good for camping if camping in a cabin with electricity, or if staying at a park where the open campgrounds provide electrical outlets to each site. Might be great for use in a recreational vehicle too, if you have the proper space to use it in there. The Amazon listing and the retail documentation both note that this cooktop is covered by a one year limited manufacturer's warranty, so if an issue arises before that period expires I will return here to update the review and let you know what the issue was and how resolution was handled. We did receive this cooktop gratis from the seller and we put it to immediate use to objectively find out how well it performed. My statements here reflect that testing. I was a little put off by the title of the listing stating it is an 1900W cooktop; it is, in total, with one burner maxing at 1300W and the other at 500W. In reality, the max power used by any one burner is 1300W by the larger of the two burners... though the device could be pushing 1800W if both burners are in full use. Bet that would be quite a heated affair! If you are looking for a portable, electric, cast iron cooktop of this style, size and price, for use similar to what I have described above, then this might be just the unit your are looking for. Go for it.

So, it's true the burners take longer to heat up - this is not an electric range, after all. However, once they do, it cooks great. I love that the burners are solid and not coils. This WILL boil water and once it gets up to temp, it's like any other stove burner. I mostly use the higher watt, large burner and have even popped corn on this side with much better results than on my former electric stove. A plus for me is that the burners also take a long time to cool down, so I can turn it off and walk away knowing the food will finish cooking and won't burn if I don't get back to it in time. In fact, when popping corn, once I hear the popping slow down I turn the burner off and walk away. By the time it cools enough not to pop any more, all the kernels have popped without burning or leaving black on the bottom of the pan! A drawback is that there are no markings on the dials for high, medium and low, etc - just off, min. and max. - so you have to wing it at first. When you turn the burner on, the light first comes on almost halfway around the dial where it's marked as min. (which would be low or warm). Common sense would then tell you medium is probably halfway between that and all the way on. This has proven true in my case. The painted words around the dial on my unit came off very quickly, so you may want to mark with a permanent marker when you find your ideal temps. I also suggest investing in some heavy-bottom, sturdy pots and pans, which work perfectly on this hotplate. This is my only "stove" and I'd buy it again. Easy to clean, too!

Since our apartment is very small and does not have a gas line to have a regular full size stove, we go thru portable stoves quiet a lot. We have purchased from well known brands to no name brands. Unfortunately they don't last long since the wife use it everyday and most of these portables are for used in dorms or places where it's only used several times. Well to review this particular stove. We considered it bc the reviews were outstanding compared to other stoves. The brand is not one we've heard off but we wanted to try something new. So far the wife uses it every single day and she loves it. The smaller grill takes a Lil longer to warm up and food doesn't cook as fast but we have come to the conclusion that it's more for simmering, warming up or even consider it as a slow cooker grill. The larger grill heats up pretty fast and will boil water instantly and cook any foods fast. So far it's a great product, works as it should. Foods come out as delicious as any other ordinary stove would cook. It's a nice counter size, fits perfectly on ours with plenty of space to work around it. The handles are a great feature bc you can move it around easily especially when its hot & needs to be moved to reach pots. Depending on the size pots you use, you can use both grills at the same time. One may take more space leaving the other grill with Lil no to space to add another pan, pot etc. Overall we've had it for a several weeks now and it works great. Definitely will recommend to others.

The reviews tend to discount the utility of the smaller burner. It does an excellent job simmering at only about halfway on the knob setting, which is fine for rice and lentils. The large burner heats to a sufficiently high degree to do a great job popping popcorn with my stove-top popcorn popper, and allows one to make excellent omelettes.

I bought this cooktop so I could use it while my kitchen is being renovated. I've cooked on it for 3-4 weeks now, and it performs well. I've made big things like pot roast in a cast iron pan. I've fried on it, and even made popcorn! So far, so good. The small burner is cooler, so I generally use the bigger burner for items that nees a lot of heat.
