Great starter Mandolin

Great starter Mandolin! Sure it's not perfect nor is the sound super amazing however, for someone who is just learning or wanting to pick up a new instrument.

Sweet little mandolin!!!!!! As a owner of several upper end mandolins.... Gibson.. fender and two loars... I went on an unexpected trip that ended up with me having to stay longer than I expected. I hadn't taken any of my mandolins with me and now was 2000 miles away from them and needed a Mando fix.... Instead of paying to have one of mine shipped to me I figured I'd just buy a cheap one and not worry about even taking it back home with me.. yet now to my surprise... All I can say is ... SWEET!!! this little inexpensive (not cheap) Mando will go home with me. It really is and was a shock to me how nice this little Mando is made and looks, but mostly plays. I'm HIGHLY SATISFIED!!!! Be sure, as with any new instrument purchase new strings. The ones on it and all new units should be replaced. I did purchase the bag as well from Hola and they didn't skimp on the quality there either. I highly recommend and would buy again. And this one will be added to my collection. Thank you Hola for your honesty....

Really great sounding mandolin!

I needed a mandolin for one song at a gig (I am a guitar/bass player). This Hola mandolin had good reviews and a great price, so I figured I would give it a try. It was packaged well, tuned up easily, and holds tune amazingly well with the strings that were on it. This was set up just fine (no dead frets, bridge rattle, etc). I was looking at the chord charts and learning the song in no time. This is a really great instrument for the money! For sure the only mandolin I will ever need.

The sound is crisp.

Shipped in perfect condition, this beauty looks and feels lightweight and comfortable. I play guitar, and always wanted to try mandolin , this was a birthday present to me and a nice starter to learn on. Tuned easily and only took a few times before it "held"the tuning and needed just minor tuning adjustments. I was playing chords on this in minutes out of the box. Would recommend to anyone that wanted an inexpensive exploration of a new instrument. The sound is crisp, no rattle or buzz, if you are familiar with finger picking this sounds amazing! Have fun!

Great gift for my son

I gave this to my 23 year old son for Christmas. He has wanted a mandolin since he was 15. We had a long running joke when we almost purchased one from someone once, that kept singing "dee dee dee dee dee dee", trying to imitate the mandolin in "Maggie May"....long story..... ANYWAY....he was really excited when he saw a mandolin, and he never shows me excitement, so I know he was happy with his gift. He also serenaded the cats and me for a while with his mandolin, and that was a gift to me, the interaction and fun we always have around music. This was a reasonable price for an instrument that he of course, will teach himself. He is a talented musician, and loves trying new things. Thanks for providing a good instrument at a good price.

I love it!

As someone who plays a lot of stringed instruments, I really wanted to get a mandolin (but honestly, who doesn’t?). This one caught my eye because of the sunburst color as well as the relatively cheap price. I’m happy to say that the product I received was worth every penny! It’s a very pretty instrument, and it sounds great as well. 5/5 stars, definitely would recommend this!

Hola support for their product is GREAT

Good little mandolin - rated very well on line - and lives up to the ratings. That said - the real quality of the instrument is the extraordinary support they back their products with. On changing strings found the tail piece ends were too tight to slip string loops over - a single email inquiry to Hola made it clear they are a great company. They went above and beyond my expectations. Issue resolved completely. Absolutely recommend the products and Hola.

Beautiful mandolin, as training for the violin.

I needed something to practice my violin without disturbing others but I also wanted something that had a truss rod. Now I had a lot of free buzz until I adjusted the truss rod quite a bit. I replaced the strings almost immediately with the standard 5 star Amazon strings which cost like 8 bucks. It's a very beautiful mandolin, it looks very plasticy as the paint is applied so evenly but no, it's wood. I also picked up mandolin for dummies book, but, honestly, if you can play the violin a bit then everything translates well to the mandolin.

Really Good Instrument

I ordered this instrument based on previous reviews. Turns out that it exceeded all my expectations. At the price I thought it would be marginal for a beginner, but it fact it is excellent in quality of material and workmanship plus a great sound. I have found nothing to complain about. I’m totally satisfied!
