No Lumps, Ever
Sturdy, well made and easy to use. Potatoes don't push out around the sides. Good sized "pot". They all go through the bottom holes. Don't buy the ones with the holes around the cylinder. They just don't do as good/efficient a job as this one with the holes on the bottom only. Yes, it's true even though you'd think the opposite.

Make mashed potatoes with better texture and flavor
I used to make mashed potatoes with a potato masher by hand and my family liked them fine but i decided to try this ricer. I made a side by side comparison and the potatoes made with the ricer won hands down. Better texture for sure, but they even tasted better (don't know why or how.) I'm partially disabled and it takes a lot out of me to make a meal for my family but I love to do it, so when I do I want to make the best meal I can and this product helps me do that. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Works great.
I bought this on impulse after reading some horseradish mashed potato recipes on the net where they mentioned using a ricer. I quit using a blender a long time ago since that's a sure way to make potato soup instead of mashers. The old school hand masher I was using was OK, but this is a far better bet for fluffy taters with no lumps. My only caveat would be that it takes some muscle to use, the wife can't really generate the needed squeezing power to get the potatoes through it easily. I was a friend's house recently and noticed he has one with longer handles that have more leverage, so if you want a ricer it's something to keep in mind. But for my purposes it works great. I had no problem making a large pot of mashers for Thanksgiving, and my mother-in-law who is snarky about lumpy mashers was held at bay. All in all a good purchase.

excellent and heavy duty
this is my first potato ricer, so I have nothing else to compare it to. Before buying this product, my mashed potatoes came out either lumpy, or gluey. This product makes perfect mashed potatoes that come out creamy and wonderful. I will say, though, that the skins don't come through the holes. You may see this as a plus or negative. Personally, I like the skins in my mashed potatoes. It's just an extra step to pull the skins off the plunger and chop the skins and add to the mashed potatoes if you want the skins in. All I did to make my perfect mashed potatoes, was boil my potatoes until tender with a knife. I used Yukon gold potatoes. Then I drained the potatoes, immediately ran them through the ricer, added a whole bunch of butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then gently turned over the mixture to mix. Don't over mix your potatoes or they will become like glue!!!

Simple, functional, easy to clean, too!
Had been reading how using a ricer made the perfect "mashed" potatoes. They aren't kidding! I always used my hand mixer but wanted to try a ricer. This one is well made and does exactly what I wanted it to do. Won't ever use anything else!! A little side note... after boiling and draining potatoes, put them back in the hot pan and let them dry out. Put through the ricer, add milk, butter, seasonings... BEST mashed potatoes EVER!! = )

Perfect mashed potatoes
Replaced a 20-something year old potato ricer that was getting really old, rattly, loose, a little rusty and a lot wobbly. Wow... We we had been fighting with the old one for so many years and forgot how smooth a new one operates! The "pot rest" on the opposite side of the handle makes it even easier and more comfortable for one person to load and operate when ricing a big Thanksgiving-sized batch of potatoes. Hope to get another 20+ years out of this one. Let's face it, in 20 years riced food will probably be a mealtime staple with me anyway.. ;-)

No LUMPS
My wife actually ordered this and used for our Christmas dinner with our extended family. She made over 7 lbs. of potatoes for her now "famous" among the family potatoes and she loved the ricer and wished she had ordered one sooner. It made for the smoothest potatoes ever - no lumps at all. It will be even better for smaller batches of mashed potatoes.

It really works!!!
Perfect!!! I've watched quite a few videos lately that use a Potato Ricer to make amazing mashed potatoes and let me tell you - it's totally worth it! I put medium sized, cooked and unpeeled potatoes in the Ricer, pushed the handle down and out came the potatoes with the skin stuck to the plunger, making it super easy to remove the skin. I can't wait to use the Ricer to make other recipes, it's so easy to use and clean. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to buy one! The seller is also great, I appreciate such courteous and professional people. Thank you!!!

While I like a little lump and even some skin in my ...
This is what I finally needed to make smooth, creamy mashed potatoes. While I like a little lump and even some skin in my mashed potatoes, my wife does not. She likes to whip them to smooth them out, but this always tends to make them into a nice rendition of spackle. This ricer requires a little arm strength and a little forethought in prep time, since it takes a lot longer to rice potatoes than to just mash/whip them. However, this is totally worth it since, in the end, you'll get perfectly creamy and sumptuous potatoes. Just add some whole milk or heavy cream and ample butter to the riced potatoes, then stir for perfect potatoes.

Great ricer that fits the bill!!!
Never used a ricer before but now that I have tried one I love it!!! It only can fit small potatoes but that is fine with me since I use small Russet potatoes anyway. It easily riced the potatoes and did leave some potatoes behind in the hopper but from what I understand that is common with ricer's anyway. Now if someone can finger out how to make potatoes taste great without salt and butter; husband cannot have sodium nor fat in his food that would be a miracle. Nice weight, feels sturdy, nice quality cleaned up easily. I think this ricer will serve me well for many years to come.
