Used this for lamp and Christmas tree - great price, works well. The first timer I got had a problem with the switch that allows it to go from timer to always on. It slipped into "always on" position and the only way to fix it was to tape it in place. I emailed Century and they sent me a new timer within 5 days that has a working switch. I might give 4.5 stars rather than 5 because it should have worked correctly in the first place, but they didnt' ask me to ship first one back, so now I have one I can use if needed in timer mode only, as well as one that works. Good customer service is so rare these days, and I do have a working timer, with 2 plugs, at a great price, so 5 stars it is.

I have a bunch of tropical plants that need to overwinter indoors. We built a structure outside with grow lights to supplement natural light during the shorter winter days and a heater to keep it warm. I bought one of these timers to try and found it worked perfectly. I now have four; one for the grow lights, one handles the greenhouse heater and a couple turn lights on and off in the house when we're away. I have had no problems with any of them. They are super-affordable and a no-brainer to program; the lights go on and off per program and the heater is on a two-hour on/off cycle. This is the first year I use this set-up and all the plants are warm and happier than when I kept them in the house. My lime tree is flowering off-season and the passion fruit keep growing. These timers take away the worry about being away for a few days or a week. The only problem I can foresee is if a power failure occurs during an absence, in which case, being a mechanical gadget, the time needs to be reset manually. I have no problem recommending this product;

Buying this has changed my life. I work nights, and the closest light switch is for a lamp at the opposite end of the room from the front door. So I bought a cheap timer from a local hardware store to have the lights turn themselves on before I get home. It worked, but it was pretty flimsy and after a week it started making a loud ticking noise and the timer stopped moving. This brand is around the same price, is solidly constructed, and gives you the option to plug in 2 devices. Because it's a manual timer, it's very easy to set and doesn't eat up your electricity bill. There are many ways to use these, but I just use them for lighting up my living room. It's a relief to come home and not have to stumble around in the dark bumping into furniture looking for the floor lamp switch. And I never have to worry about accidentally leaving the light on, because I programmed it to shut off around the time I go to bed. I would recommend this product to anyone to wants to make their daily routine a little easier. I've used it for a few months now with no issues, and it's definitely worth the $10 price.

Works great. I wasn't sure if it was working at first, because it changes when I am sleeping, and it doesn't have any light or indication of operation. After some anxiety, I decided to set an alarm and wake up to check -- as I said, works great. Great value for the price. I like that it has two ports and they are on opposing sides of the unit (convenient for bulk plug/connections). Large power switch. Tabs to set the timer for operation are a little tiny and difficult to set; which is why I wasn't sure if it was working correctly. Again, I would prefer it had a light or some indicator of when it is in operation or powering devices. Using this for an 800 Watt LED light and a small inline duct fan. I would recommend this to others.

Our house was built in 1930 and is very poorly heated by an ancient floor furnace. The rooms at the back of the house are especially cold in the winter. I was using an electric radiator, with a timer that turned the heater on first thing in the morning so my office would be warmed up when I went in to get to work, and then turned it off mid-morning.. Worked fine till the timer on the heater failed. The heat would turn on and never turn off. I thought about trying to fix that timer, but decided that the risk of making things worse was too great. So I looked for an external timer. It took a while to find one that was suitable for the wattage of the heater, but this one had the right specs at the right price. And sure enough, my heater, plugged into the timer, now turns on and off just as well as it ever did. Problem solved!

I was worried about other reviewer's complain about noise, but it is very quiet. I don't hear any clicking/ ticking sounds. But my timer is working little bit of off time that I set on like one segment. Otherwise, it's size is ok. It is easy to set up timer "once you realized" that the black highlighted area of numbers means "night" and the other white area of numbers simply means "day time". -Updated review- I never received contact from customer service unless I contacted them for reason at first, but one of the customer service representative name Wei, from the company contacted me after they noticed my review with the problem regarding the timer works little off from the time I set. I explained the problem and they sent me a replacement which works more on time. Wonderful! Best customer service I never experienced! Thank you!

Bought two of these units, and both work very well! One unit starts a heater in the bathroom so it's toasty when I go in for the morning shower, the other works as a timer for lights in the living room. I love that it heavy duty, three prong, and two outlets. It runs the 1250 watt heater with ease and plenty more watts available. Lamps in living room are still incandescent, and draw about 120 watts. My only problem is that the pins used to set the timer are pretty small - could not just use my fingers to set so I used a toothpick which did fine. Other than that. the unit is very easy to use.

Product works OK, however it makes a clicking sound every 8 seconds or so. I guess this is what "mechanical" means. Can be very annoying in a household application. Will use it somewhere where the noise is not a factor. UPDATE - Seller contacted me after posting this earlier review and offered to replace their product at no charge. I'm very impressed that they did this and feel this is a seller that stands behind what they sell. Replacement product is satisfactory and doesn't make a noise.

I have been searching for quiet, heavy-duty timer for an indoor wall fountain in my bedroom. This timer is the only one (out of 3) that I do not hear ticking. In fact, it makes absolutely no noise at all. Highly recommended. UPDATE: BROKEN! After only 3 months of use, the red slide that controls the on/off operation of the timer no longer works....NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! BEWARE!!!!! Update #2. Century Products replaced my timer. Have yet to use it (in process of moving), so I will let you know later. Thank you Century for standing behind your products.

This is just good old-fashioned mechanical, electronic technology, not the internet of things. It's not going to give you a backlit LED read-out or accept voice commands or sync to an app that times on/off with sunrise/set in your city. It's just a plug-adapter interrupter-switch with a ring of pins controlling a time clock that you want it on/off every day. Pretty ingenious, all the same! I love that it's dual-outlet, controlling two inputs yet leaving the other plug of your socket available, with an hourly/daily timer adjustable to 15-minute increments and a steady-on override sliding switch. It's perfect for our small Christmas tree on the landing with an extension cord to the pre-lit garland on our entry stairwell railing. Downsides could be the rough estimation when you set the current time dial, but you can get close enough (say 10 minutes) and it may also very faintly "tick" or audibly "grind" as it operates, which is fine for a LR/DR, but might be irritating in a BR (on par with a ticking clock). We put these to work every year at Christmastime (e.g., early December to St. Patrick's Day in March, sometimes Easter in April... because New England winter, #hygge) and use one in the apartment LR all year for a light to come home to. Handy!
