This worked much better than I expected
This worked much better than I expected. While I don't think my receiver was dangerously overheating, it did run warm to the touch, and buying one of these seemed like a prudent investment (or at least a reasonable experiment). Within about ten minutes of putting the fan in the middle of the top of my receiver -- on the lowest setting -- the receiver was cool to the touch. The fan is completely silent in the low and medium setting, and while there is a small amount of noise on the highest setting, I doubt I'll be using that setting. And since it's plugged into one of the outlets on the back of my receiver, it shuts off when I turn the receiver off. And while I can't guarantee this will extend the life of my receiver, this seemed like a good way to keep my audio system healthy (for a reasonable cost).

Really High Quality & Nearly Silent Fan
i'm impressed, and that's not an easy thing to do. the packaging is simple but very well done. not only does it keep the fan safe in transit, but also makes the presentation beautiful when you open it. the fan is nice looking enough to be in plain view on components so no hiding is needed. and you can daisy chain them on a single USB outlet. the air flow is smooth and almost completely silent on 'high'. from 3' (almost 1 meter) away i don't hear it at all. this is very nitpicky but the only thing i would want different is a higher output of air. though i think with my application a better power source is all that's needed. plugging into a powered USB hub works, but a real outlet... for example the back of a amplifier would be perfect.

Great Product!!
Great Product!! I don't usually write reviews but I ordered the AC Infinity fan and it exceeded my expectations in all aspects from quick delivery, excellent customer service where the vendor reached out to see if I was satisfied and form the quality of the AC Infinity fan. This is my second fan I purchased, one is cooling my amps and now the current one is cooling my XBOX. It is very quite that you can't even hear it running. Sometimes I get up just to check to see if it's on. I paired both with the digital thermostat that powers the fan on and off according to the temperature you set. Now I can sit back and play my Forza game in my racing seat without worrying if my XBOX or amps are running hot. This is a great buy!! Very happy, if you need a great worry free fan and you value you priceless electronics this is for you hands down.

Reduced CPU temperate of my router over 20°C
I needed a cooling solution for my ASUS RT-AC5300 router and this was a perfect fit. AC Infinity also takes pride in their packaging and documentation, which is rare for any manufacturer. The supplied USB cable was sufficiently long enough to reach my "IDF space" where my UPS and cable modem are in enclosed. I immediately noticed over a 20°C reduction in the CPU temperature of my router. I also opted to purchase the AC Infinity Turbo Fan Power Adapter to increase cooling further. This will be easy to swap in after it arrives.

Keep your electronics cool
I am using this fan to cool my NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 cable modem. On the lowest fan setting my modem stays nice and cool. I am thoroughly happy with this fan. Here are some measurements that may help others. From the fan to the back of the "male USB" connector (end of wire) is 74 inches. ~or~ From the fan to the back of the "female USB" connector is 6.5 inches. From the back of the "female USB" connector to the back of the "male USB" connector (end of wire) is 67.5 inches. PS I also use the double 120 fans AC Infinity MULTIFAN S7, Quiet Dual 120mm USB Fan for Receiver DVR Playstation Xbox Computer Cabinet Cooling to cool my PC. I have it plugged into this wall adapter Motorola SPN5689A OEM Dual Port Universal Wall Charger with Micro USB Data Cable for Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX XT916/XT913, Admiral/PAX XT603, Atrix 2, DROID RAZR XT912 /HD, Photon 4G, Triumph WX435, Theory WX430, Titanium i1x, i412, XPRT that I had laying around. The wall adapter is connected to this dimmer switch cord Lutron TTCL-100H-BL Credenza Dimmable CFL/LED Dimmer, Black that I use as an on/off switch.

Perfect for my needs!
As a retired electronics technician I was concerned when my Sony Tuner Amp had to be repaired because of overheating problems. I first considered a built in cabinet fan since my home entertainment system is in anwar style cabinets with my TV. The other alternative was a small AC powered fan inside the cabinet. When going onto Amazon to do some research a banner ad was at the top of the results for AC Infinity products. This was quite fortunate and after researching their products I chose this one. It is unobtrusive and is powered by the USB port in front of the unit every time it is started. There is no heat build up now as I was able to place the fan directly over the source of the most heat. There is absolutely no noise even in the Hi position which is the setting I use. Highly recommend these style fans!

I LOVE THIS FAN !!!
i've purchased a couple of fans now, i wish i would have discovered this one sooner. the reasons why i bought it: * USB powered (it was supposed to be quiet, high ratings, inexpensive) the reasons why i love it: * USB powered (i have open USB plugs everywhere) * very quiet (i only run on medium speed) * solid feel in construction * variable fan speed (choose the speed/quiet which works) * blade covers (no worry about fingers or blade damage) * grommet feet (protects finishes, and will cool device resting directly on top with airflow in either direction!) the first fan i purchased was the Coolerguys Quiet 120mm AC Powered Receiver/Component Cooling Fan. while it works, i'm now less excited about the AC power and the fact that it doesn't have blade covers. initially i didn't think those would be an issue, but turns out yes. it's easy to run out of AC outlets, but seems like every single device that i'm trying to cool has USB ports on it. also the blade covers come in handy during transport or shelf adjustment (even when the fan is running) two thumbs up !

High Quality Fan
I already had the previous version of this fan but it ended up breaking due to little busy hands and bouncing toys in the house. I ended up going back to buy a new one and found they had updated the product. This product is very high quality as well as the previous one and for the price you can't beat it. The fan comes with fan grills on both sides as well as removable rubber feet. There is a speed controller with the settings off/low/medium/high. On the cord there is also a USB female plug that allows you to plug in another device if you dont have any available ports. I use this fan on my Xbox One not because it really needs it but I live in a room that gets really hot and I want the extra fan pulling air through the XO.

Keeps your entertainment center silently cool for a fair price!
Used this inside a media stand under my PlayStation 4 and it has been miraculous! I also used the dual 120mm for and exhaust and intake out the back..my ps4 almost never uses its own cooling system! These 3 fans aren't even a 1/3 as loud as the PlayStation's own system! If you're looking for an overheating solution this is the ticket!! Will follow up in a few months with an update!!

Cooling solutions for many applications!
We've been using various AC Infinity fans for several years in our home now and Ive gotta say they are impressive! We've used them to cool our Cable Modems, Routers, gaming consoles, DVRs, and a stereo cabinet! Not a single fan as stopped working properly since the very first one we bought back in 2015! So from our experience, they are well-built, reliable, and relatively inexpensive. You can't really go wrong with AC Infinity! Our latest purchase was these dual 80mm usb fans. My Grandmother was complaining of her DVR being very laggy and randomly shutting off. I checked it out while she was using it and the thing was so hot it was nearly painful to the touch! The exhaust fan on the unit died and it was overheating. Her cable company doesn't carrying that model anymore, and a technician gave us his honest opinion, saying that the current new models aren't very reliable and we should wait until they switch to a different one if possible... Also my Grandma really didn't want to swap out the unit yet because she would lose MANY hours of shows she recorded. So, I picked up this dual fan kit and set them up next to the vents on either side of the DVR and all the the issues she was experiencing have vanished! Her DVR has been working great since and the metal housing of the unit literally feels room temperature to the touch now! AC Infinity saves the day again!
