Holds the great Melissa and Doug quality

I purchased this item for my son who is a year old, I bought it as a car toy. The toy is much larger then I expected " no problem for me" My son is really into textures, and this toy is great for that. The price was fair, Melissa and Doug products are well made good quality products and this item is no exception. The colors are bright and inviting to little ones.I think this item is over all great and I would purchase one for a gift.

Love it!

My daughter absolutely LOVES this fish! I have started putting it on her lap for car rides and she plays with it the whole time in the car. It's a perfect fit for that. We have also had it inside on her play mat. She loves the crinkling and squeaking sounds. This is a well made and fun toy! My daughter is 4 months old now, but she has liked it since she was about 2 1/2 months.

Kid Approved!

LOVE it! I have lots of friends who bring their babies over, my little sister is 3 (she has down-syndrome and LOVES this as well), and i'm expecting our first. I can honestly say that many kids, between the ages of 0-2 years, have played with this and loved it. Definitely didn't expect my little 3 year old sister to enjoy it as much as she did but...surprise! Anyways I think it's a great toy and it will definitely get some use :).

Really big but fun

Wow this fish is big. That said, baby loves it. Age 3-5 months has been a good match. At 3 months he needed help but enjoyed it. At 5 months, he is flinging it all around by himself. The toy is well balanced for flinging. He enjoys the crinkles.

Excellent toy with lots of different textures, colors, and is so soft!

Our 5 month old LOVES this toy. It's gender neutral. It has shiny fins, crinkly fins, soft fins and under the fins are contrasting colors that always seem to delight him when he pushes the fin over. It has a nice chewy rubber end that he drools all over and it has a rubbery like ring on top to chew on. We actually use the rubbery ring to attach it to some plastic toy links on the carseat headrest so that he can't throw this on the floor in our minivan while we drive. It's the perfect tummy time toy, too, but we prefer to leave it in the car because he loves it so much he doesn't mind getting into or out of his carseat. Like some reviewers said, it was larger than I was thinking but only because I didn't look at the dimensions. I am very impressed and it was worth the cost. Our little guy gives it a drooly thumbs up, too.

Fun fish that baby can grow with and learn from!!

Our little girl loves this fish!! She likes to play peek a boo, so you can make a fun peek a boo noise as you open up each gill to see what is underneath! Also, she likes to feel the different textures of the gills.. some of silky, some crinkly, some smooth, some fuzzy, some textured, one is a Mirror, etc... figure it will be a fun way to talk about sea creatures like the fish, dolphin, crab, sea turtle, whale, octopus, as well as teach on colors as each row of fish gills have different colors (red, blue, green, orange)! So not only is this fish fun at her current age level to touch and feel and open up the gills to see what is underneath, I believe this fish will be a great learning toy as she grows! It was also surprising to me how big the fish is when it actually came! Good size! ! Anyhow, great toy at a great price! There are a couple teething areas on the fish as well, which my daughter hasn't specifically liked those, but she just loves a lot about this fish!

Love the crinkle scales and colors

I agree didn't expect it to be so big. Got as a gift and had to order my son one too! Love the crinkle scales and colors. My baby doesn't really use the chew pads on the tail. I loop it on the bright star links for car rides. This and Lamaze Peacock, and Lamaze chime garden are travel car toys. Yes- I break rules and keep car seat handle up so LO can play. He likes his fishy!! Only complaint. The under the scales the images could have been better. Such a big colorful beautiful fish... just wanted the "under scale" images to keep bringing it to the level of awesomeness.

Great Toy Once Your Baby is 4 Months

I did buy this thinking it would be my daughter's first toy, but she wasn't interested in it until late into her fourth month (rookie mom mistake). However, now that she does like it, it's great on many levels. The scales are crinkly and she loves to grab them and chew on them. The colors are bright and she will roll herself toward them because they catch her interest so well. The squeaker in the tail makes her smile (though mommy still has to squeak it). And, now that she's teething, she is loving the little rubber parts. We're definitely taking this on the plane with us during our trans-Pacific flight next week. It took her a while to war, up to it (it was as big as she was when she came home from the hospital), but now she loves it.

Great Soft Toy for Baby

Our baby has loved this fish since she was about 3 months old and it's uses have "graduated" with her over the last 5 months. It was perfect to place in front of her while she was sitting in our laps while small, then great during tummy time, now it's one of her favorites while sitting & playing in the floor. She loves the colors, textures, and to chew on the fins. I've put it in the washer several times and it seems to be holding up well. Toys surviving the washer, dishwasher, or a good cleaning is a requirement in our home - this one works well for us!
