The 2 best features of this tension rod are the extra-long length and the wide, non-marring flanges on the ends. When you need a tension rod longer than a standard “bathtub” length, this is the company to go with. This tension rod is great for wider spans — I needed one to span about 124 inches in a “temporary” space where I couldn’t drill or use installation hardware and this one worked perfectly! The flanges on the ends have a non-marring coating on the sides that touch the wall and the wider “foot” of the flange keeps it from digging into the wall, or “walking” down the wall while installing it. After all, you’re usually using a tension rod to keep from damaging your walls with installation hardware or marring your walls when using for a temporary or changeable situation. I also like the silver color/finish — it’s a beautiful “brushed metal” finish (not a cheap looking shiny chrome). This item requires some assembly, but all tools (2 Allen wrenches) are included, it only takes a few minutes and can be accomplished by one person. One assembled, you can easily adjust the length to the span required and install just as any other tension rod. I would definitely consider buying a shorter version of this if I even needed just a “standard” length tension rod because the quality is so much better than cheaper “bathtub” length rods that you find elsewhere from different companies. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

Great curtain rod for an awkwardly long wall. The room divider was the perfect solution and my new window treatment really helps pull the room together for a polished look. I was able to install and adjust height/length by myself with only a step ladder in less than 20 minutes. The unit was just as described and included easy to follow, illustrated directions. The rod itself is sturdy and the longest unit easily holds weight of curtains with no "bowing" or center bracket needed (I'm sure that wouldn't have been the case with a regular curtain rod). No marks or smudges on drywall. I highly recommend this product

We absolutely love this divider. I moved in with a front in NYC, and it costs about $1k to have a wall built, and most places don't allow you to build. Our walls are concrete so we can't really drill into them. This tension rod was perfect. It was so easy to put up, and when we put the curtains on it made it look like two totally different rooms. We searched for a while as there aren't many similar products, especially of this length. I highly recommend this to anyone considering it!

Purchased this tension rod to hang some decorative curtains as a divider between an open plan kitchen and the connecting space. Came with clear instructions, was easily adjustable and was simple to put up. The finish on the rod (white) was even and clean, making the rod appear as decorative as it is functional. (NOTE: As a curtain rod this is much thicker than most. Note the diameter of the pockets or grommets of your curtains. In my case it was not an issue and the curtains move freely, but if my curtain’s rod pockets were even slightly narrower I’d have had to purchase rings and hooks to have the curtains slide freely.)

I purchased this rod to section off our "storage" and laundry area of our basement. Delivery was quick and the rod was packaged very securely in the shipping box. I purchased the black rod (and black curtains). It was very easy to install and is working out perfectly. (Also watched the video on their website, which was helpful.) The directions were easy and we had the rod up in about 5 minutes. Followed the "three tugs" recommendation and the tension was very secure. We noticed that one end (the side that extends) had crinkles in the part that the rod slides out which seemed to impact the tension rod a bit. In contacting the customer service the quickly sent us a replacement. Not only is the rod great, their customer service went up and beyond. Planning on getting a their ceiling track to divide a larger section of our basement. These days, having both a quality product and amazing customer service seems to be more rare and greatly appreciated when you find it.

No sag. Easy installation. It does retract unlike stated in another review. The ends are a clear rubber so I dont see them leaving marks on any wall. I had to remove ends with tool provided in order to slide curtains on. This is durable and could last me years, great option compared to other higher priced tension rods. This arrived packaged very well. 80inch max rod used in 70-75inch? window frame. Less than 5lbs of curtains hanging on rod. I also have a cheap white metal tension rod behind this rod holding sheer white curtains.

Was nervous such a long tension rod would not hold up my curtains but it works great! After searching this was the only long one I could find for my big windows. Would def recommend! Easy installation.

After purchasing several other rods that would not hold up my curtains, I was very pleased to find this product. It is made in USA and very good quality. I contacted the company directly via email with questions. They quickly responded to all my questions. I did have to have an extra pair of hands to put it up due to the weight of my curtains but install went great. Loved it so much that I bought 4 more!! The end comes off to allow eyelet curtains to slide on with no problem. My windows are 64” and have no sag as of yet. Curtains are pretty heavy but they told me it should handle up to 10#. Unlike some reviewers, my package arrived closed and complete. Update. This is my second purchase. I receivec 2 rods. One had a missing end cap and one screw head was stripped. I called the company and they were very nice. Sending me the items right away. These are so nice that I am ordering 2 more. I ordered 2 more rods and so love them!

I have struggled with what to do to dress a wide, short window in my living room for 40 years... we're talking 36" high, 142.5" wide, with a sill almost a foot deep. Nothing looked right! Then, along came flat-screen TVs and the glare from this window caused viewing problems - so the hunt for another solution ensued. When I found a room divider rod that was long enough, I decided on RoomDividersNow based on its heavy-duty appearance. I knew it was going to take some strength to span that 12' window opening. The rod came quickly with Amazon Prime and my husband had it assembled in no time. We had to wait another few hours for the delivery of the curtains - grommet thermal blackout from another vendor. Once those were hung, we were in business. The only downside: due to the weight of the curtains and the length of the span, there's a slight sag in the middle (hence the bead chain in the pic). We're going to have to get a support bracket to alleviate that; but otherwise, we're very happy with the result!

I've been using this rod for the past two months to hang heavy light-blocking curtains in my bedroom and am very pleased with the results. My room is 124 inches wide with wall-to-wall windows that reach to the ceiling so there was no good way for me to mount a regular curtain rod. This rod installed firmly and easily and bears the weight of my three heavy curtains with no problem at all! Even moving the curtains back and forth doesn't cause any extra sag or wobble. Unfortunately the rod isn't 100% perfect, it does have a slight sag in the center even without curtains on it. However, adding heavy curtains to it didn't increase the sag whatsoever. I don't believe this is a shortcoming of the rod, just a matter of physics, having a rod that mounts via tension over such a long span without any sag would require a much more expensive and complicated design. As it is, this rod is already an excellent solution.
