  • Easy to operate while using pliers, just insert the top into its position and press it.

Used it to crimp 8 gauge into some MC4 connectors. For the price and what it is, it feels solid and tight, gives more than enough leverage to perform the crimp with one hand, it just kinda works fine.

Did not want iffy connections with my MC4 connectors so I purchased this Signstek Crimper. I’m very pleased with the quality of the tool and the quality of the crimped connectors. Used mine on 12 gauge stranded wire I bought on Amazon for my solar project. It is a buy recommendation from me!

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. What more is their to say?

Worked great to wire up 2000 watt solar array. Way less expensive than solar provider website. Word of caution, make sure all the connects are on before crimping, otherwise you have to cut off end and put them on. I did this twice. So it would be nice if they came with a few extra metal crimps for the folks that make mistakes while crimping stuff on their roofs.

This crimping tool is a little gem! I bought it to crimp my solar panel mc4 caonnectors, but now Iḿ using it a lot for crimping f2 battery connectors. It works very smoothly and it barely requires pressure to crimp. I was using nose pliers before getting this, and I susually botched 1 out of every 4 crimping attempts, but now I can crimp faster and without wasting supplies.

The writing on the side of this crimp tool reads "iwiss" (sic) made hilariously. But that said, the tool worked very well for me. I crimped over 100 MC4 connectors with it and all of them seemed to go pretty much flawlessly. The tool seems well made and is very sturdy with a good ratchet mechanism. I can't speak to its long term durability but certainly for small batches is should be great. When you do the crimp, you have to hold the pin between the jaws while you insert the wire. I found that if you squeeze down a bit on the pin, you can hold it with the crimper but still have room to insert the wire before crimping all the way down until the ratchet disengages.

I live on an off grid solar system and when I originally put it together I just used pliers. When I moved I stated having problems and in the end it was easier to buy new connectors and this tool to put it all together and never have to worry about the connectors loosening up. It's not expensive and if you need it it's worth the money.

I don't know why I have not bought an MC4 crimper sooner. This creates an awesome, supper-tight crimp on MC4 connectors. Previously, I had crimped a few without proper tools, and ended up cutting them off and replacing them with butt connectors due to poor connections. This tool is great, and I even went back and re-installed MC4 connectors on my older panels, plus redid all my existing MC4 crimps.

It was well worth the investment. I saved a ton of money over buying the wires pre-made. Plus, i needed 21 ft, which means i would've had to use 25ft wires, and added an additional 48ft of wire, if I factor; 4ft x two cables for 6 strings of 3 panels! That's a lot of wasted voltage drop!

Worked and easy to use. For something to have in case you need it, a backup pair or for daily use they seem adequate. Use them for crimping the connectors on MC4 solar panel connectors building tiny homes. Absolutely no issues so far.
