  • Tool hooks for hanging grilling tools, such as a spatula and tongs
  • Built-in lid thermometer displays the internal temperature of your grill

This grill has been terrific. -Pros: ash collector is removable and easy to empty, center circle of griddle removes to adjust/start/remove coals, sides of griddle hinged open to adjust coals while cooking, thermometer works great and is accurate, folding side table is great for plates/spices/etc., minimal gaps around the griddle for food to fall through while grilling, easy to assemble, and there is an area to the left that the top can rest on. -Cons: the metal hooks to hang utensils are not universally friendly, the space between the shelf and the grill is small and can not accommodate my chimney starter standing upright. All said the cons I've listed really don't bother me that much.

I'm a charcoal guy. This is my third Weber kettle in the last 25 years and I still own two of them. None of them ever wore out completely and I would have rebuilt them but for the fact that parts and models change so I felt it was time to retire the 15 year old version and have that as a back up. This version is similar but it is a bit taller and the tray is smaller (and a few other minor changes). Truthfully, the basic version of this is just as good for most of what I do but I don't mind paying a $100 more for the few extras. Weber's treated me right over the years.

Bought this to replace our not-too-old gas grill that always got too hot and had terribly rusty grates. We decided to go charcoal because food just tastes better than gas-grilled food. While heating the charcoal takes a bit longer, so far the tradeoff in flavor is worth it. We bought match light charcoal, so we couldn't use the chimney that we ordered as an accessory, but that charcoal lights up just fine in the grill itself. Next time we'll go for charcoal without added propellent so we can use the chimney and simplify things. Whatever type of charcoal you use, you're cooking in under 20 minutes - that is not a bad thing! We always gave the gas grill a few minutes to preheat anyway - now we just do food prep work during the heating process. It's nice having a grate just for the charcoal, and the one-touch clean out feature works very well. The side tray is sturdy and goes up and down very smoothly. The tool hooks are handy. I assembled this grill myself (with a little help from my four-year-old) - it was not difficult, except for the center nut for the lid holder - that required a ratchet wrench, because the adjustable crescent wrench just wouldn't catch the nut tightly in the concave center of the grill bowl. Other than that, the instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. The stand is sturdy and strong, and the parts seemed to be of high quality. There are fancier versions of this grill out there, but we chose this smaller version because we felt the gas lighter system unnecessary (and the small propane tanks are unrecyclable and expensive). We certainly didn't want any electronic components in an outdoor grill system, and the grill itself is the same - 22 inches, with the potential for adding extra cooking components as available in larger Performer models. We can store our charcoal elsewhere. It also takes up less patio space than a non-folding model. We are very happy with this little grill. We bought a matching cover, brush, and chimney to complete the package. We're looking forward to many years of service from this grill. Our previous two grills were gas powered, and we had them together for under a decade - the 10-year warranty on this gives me hope that it will last a good long time.

Absolutely a super version of the classic Weber! Seriously considered the "deluxe" version with fixed table and gas ignition, but personally couldn't justify the extra $$. Made the "mistake" several years ago to transition to a ***GASP*** gas grill, and pretty much regretted it from start. As a windstorm "tossed" the gas grill about 7 feet, and damaged it pretty significantly, it was time to "return to the fold" of charcoal. Seriously, this is a great edition of the "kettle"! Easy to assemble, convenient with the folding table. The "new" (to me) cover holder is great, and the "new" (again, to me) placement of the thermometer in the cover seems to provide for more accurate readings. The (really) new grilling grate is awesome. Besides having the ability to use things such as a wok, griddle, sear plate, the removable center section allows for easy fire maintenance in combination with the hinged sides. While I could go on and on about this grill, suffice it to say that, in all seriousness, since we purchased the Performer, we have grilled more times than we did in 6 years with the gas grill. Do yourself a favor and buy one. You seriously will not regret it!

Replaced an inherited my Father's1968 Weber on a cart. Match that longevity on any other brand! Love the lidholder, ash dumping, ashcatcher. I don't even bother with my other grill (propane) except in the dead of winter. I considered some other 'premium' charcoal grills out there - mostly for a lot more money, but none have the convenience features to handle cleanup like the Weber. I do wish there was a feature to raise and lower the grate for searing, but all other advantages outweigh this drawback. I plan on replacing the grill's center ring since I see no use for a wok on it and IMO the loose center ring is a PIA. I plan on handing this one down to my kids.

I have gone through a cheap propane grill and a cheap brinkmann box smoker, I've finally found a grill that will last over a decade of some serious use! I've been researching for a while in getting a grill and smoker combo since maintaining both is kind of a pain in the rear. I've watched plenty of youtube videos on using weber kettle grills as a smoker and it has worked much better than the brinkmann box smoker I had ordered off Amazon over a couple years ago. My cheap propane grill was $100 bucks and the brinkmann box smoker $70 but then had to invest more into parts to make the smoker function and it was about $100 bucks total. So I had spent $200 bucks for items that did not last a couple of years. I got what I paid for... My favorite features of the weber: - Heavy duty, made in the USA. - 10 year warranty! (bowl, ring, center ring) [...] - Grate has multiple access points to refill and maintain charcoal. - Indirect heat for smoking. - Easy to assemble, quality instructions. - Accurate thermometer. - Easy to clean, just remove the ash can and dump it. - Uses a lot less charcoal than the brinkmann. A lot less. Half of what the brinkmann used. - Slide-aside is excellent. - Heat guard for hand performs as designed. - Rugged design, it's like a Jeep, Glock of grills. - Easy to find replacement parts and accessories. I should have gotten a weber years ago and would have saved the $200 that went right in the trash due to buying cheaper inferior products that couldn't make it past 2 years. Good luck finding parts to fix the cheap ones. With a weber, replacement parts are easy to come by. [Update 12/23/2016] I have to leave this product at 5 stars! I purchased the item on April 8, 2015 and it's still working like a champ. Keep in mind that I did not invest extra in the cover that is sold separately. It's open to the elements. I live in NC and the humid summers have not affected the webber at all. It's been sitting (uncovered) the entire time on my deck. Pictures coming soon... [Update 9/24/2018] Well, it finally happened. The one touch cleaning system handle broke. I just ordered a replacement for $15 though! Weber 7444 22-1/2-Inch One-Touch Cleaning System Kit for Grills. It rusted out and broke one day when I went to clean the ashes out. Can't wait to get it installed and get the grill going again. It's cooled down outside so it's the perfect time for smoking meats. Oh ya, it's almost turkey season too!

I was in the market for a new grill and after souring on propane, I decided to go exclusively to charcoal. The Weber Kettle 22 really is the perfect charcoal grill for weekly use. It's small enough that you don't have to load it up with charcoal to obtain heat, and there are countless options and accessories you can buy to really tailor it to your specific needs. I decided to go with this version of the grill because I wanted a bit of table space but still something that has a small footprint on my deck. This version fit the bill perfectly. It's super simple to put together...probably took my 45 minutes of beer drinking and tinkering to get it all assembled and ready to rock. So far I've cooked burgers, steak, and smoked some sausage and its performed like a champ. The benefit of going with this version is that you get the lid holder on the side, the updated ash can, and the gourmet grill grate system with the hole in the middle so you can pop in a sear grate. You will not regret buying a kettle if you like using charcoal. Just get one.

I got rid of my big barrel smoker grill to get a Weber performer. I researched charcoal grills for a month and kept coming back to the Webers. They are in every top 5 or top 10 charcoal grill lists all over the internet because of their iconic patented dome design. It holds heat extremely well and having the side table is a must. I've cooked ribs, whole chickens, and the traditional hamburgers & hot dogs. It performs well and is well worth your dollars.

I am glad I went with this. When It came time to replace my 40 year old 18" Weber, I got a 22" Weber from Walmart for $50. I soon learned my mistake as it was China made and not very sturdy. I use the grill 3-4 times a week in summer and 1 few time a month in winter, I wanted something that wasn't short, after looking I decided on this. Now I am grilling out 5 times a week. Even on my uneven lawn it rolls with no problem. Took about a hour to unbox and assemble. I love the one touch cleaning!

I have own several Weber grills and to me they are still the greatest grills of all!!!! Charcoal is the way I cook and with this style grill I use alot of my cast iron cook ware also on it. This is a new style for me as it has a hole in the center of the top grill that one can add different items into. I look forward to trying different this and as always doing alot of things I have from the past, grilled pizza and most of all smoking pork butts. It will take abit of time to get this grill to season but rest asure I will get there. As to the quality of Weber grill Still the TOPS to me I do not just give out 5 stars for anything!!!!!
