Excellent design, well constructed, works well.

The North State Windsor Gate is easily installed, adjusts readily to different sized doors, is well constructed, easy to use, looks great, and best of all, works very well. We used it as a puppy gate and it is an excellent product for a very active, demanding labradoodle. We liked this gate so much we bought four more of them. I don't like to provide a review for a product until I've used it for some time. We've had these gates now for three months and they have held up well and have met our highest expections. There was only one minor issue. If your gate (or gate plus extension) fits snugly in the door opening, it is difficult to get the provided wrench into the slots of the tightening wheel to tighten further. However, if you install the provided wall cups (screw or double stick tape) and finger tighten, it's a non-issue. Would recommend this gate even for active toddlers or large dogs, it is that sturdy.

Great product!

This gate is exactly what I was looking for! It says up all the time. It's used in our hall so it's great for keeping our dogs out of all our bedrooms during the day. We have one dog that sheds a little and a little yorkie that is partially house trained so it makes it nice to have that part of the house protected from dog hair or potty accidents.

Perfect two way swinging dog gate. Finally!!!

lThis is the 4th gate we have tried and I am SO happy to have found this one after reading so many reviews. This gate is perfect for our needs. We have 2 dogs, a large Rhodesian Ridgeback and a small Pomeranian and both dogs are contained by this gate. I LOVE this gate and hardly write reviews, but this one warrants a positive review. Installation was a little tricky, because I was working in such a small space, the doorway was barely large enough to fit the gate, but it does perfectly. Also the wrench that they give you can only be used by slipping the wrench inside of the nut, instead of on the outside like a traditional wrench, so once I was able to manipulate the screws with my fingers enough to slip in the wrench, it was sooo much easier. That took some patience. I am a fairly handy gal and was able to install without any help. I did n Installation was a little tricky, because I was working in such a th small space, the doorway was barely large enough to install any expansions. Tip: keep the zip ties on the gate until you are finished installing the door to keep it from swinging back and forth. READ all the directions before you start, it will save you a lot of time. What I love about the gate: You can install it with base boards and walls, it adjusts. It swings both ways, it can stay open in either direction once pushed past 90 degrees, it automatically locks so the dogs cannot escape if one of our kids leaves it open. All 3 of my kids can open the gate without help (once they practiced and where shown how to do it). You only need one hand free to open it, It can be locked if you were using it to keep toddlers out, the gate is fairly light which helps over time it stays put. Many of the other gates we have tried are sooo heavy and they come loose quickly, this one stays put. I did purchased extra wall savers to protect my wall and base boards, but it does come with some, I just wanted the extra cushion/protection. This is the best pet gate we have come across. I need another one for a large doorway, need to contact the company to see if they make one for larger spaces.

Great gate for controlling movement

Purchased this gate for a pet gate and it works exactly as needed. It is easy to open the gate portion and step though and it closes itself and you don't have to worry about it. The gate swinging both ways is great. A door typically only opens one direction but this will let you open it either direction which to me is a plus.

LOVE my Gates....Tall only though....

Good......I have a freakin' gate in every doorway in my home.....for babies and my dogs....UGH... But I'm so used to going in and out of gates, don't know what I'd do without one. I highly recommend the TALL ones. Cost is not much different, esp if you're buying for a dog that will learn to jump over as my previous foster dog did on the shorter one. My four Siberian Huskies do not even try to jump over. And the two one year old babies I babysit, aren't even tall enough "yet" But don't waste your money on the shorter ones. TALL one's are the way to go.

Nice looking and easy to use.

Looks beautiful as well a being sturdy. I don't have a toddler jumping on it though. I use it to keep my dog from going down stairs. The twist handle is easy to use. I did buy wall protectors along with this purchase. I have the gate on there super tight and no issue at all with my walls.

Great Sturdy Dog Gate

Using this as a dog barrier gate between the kitchen (their space) and the hallway. Not all tension gates are created equal - and I always opt for beautiful but well built heavy metal gates to keep my pooches safe. This is a high traffic doorway with my family going in an out dozens of times a day. But so far the gate needs only minimal adjusting (all tension gates should be checked/tightened on a regular basis). I bought Regalo and Summer Infant brand gates before and been extremely happy with both with the price, style and functionality. I’m happy this gate worked out well also!

Looks great! High quality

Easy to install and use, looks really great. Using it to keep a bunny from escaping and so far so good, she is about 6lb and tried to go in between two of the rails but couldn’t make it, if you have a realy small pet they will be able to fit between the rails.

LOVE LOVE this gate!

LOVE this gate! Purchased this because as renters we couldn't put up anything "permanent" and this is the next best thing. It took a little while to "install" in place, but once you realize how to do it, it was simple. We have it at the entrance to our kitchen--a higher traffic area--and so LOVE that the gate opens in either direction AND that it will stay open in either direction... very few others will do this. You can also secure it if you have kids so they won't be able to open it, but for our two pups it's perfect without that. The gate itself is nice looking, and substantial -- not flimsy at all. It comes with two smaller side extender pieces, but fits a standard size doorway without them. We've had it in place for a month now and actually love it more! VERY pleased with our purchase!

Exactly what we needed

The gate comes in sections which are easy to put together and install. I love that the gate is able to stay open if you open it past 90 degrees. This way you can carry things in and out of the room and not have to worry about the gate springing back on you if your hands are full. The gate door will swing back gently into the closed position on its own. And you can turn a mechanism so that it is "locked" for added security in keeping pets out of certain areas. We have a 25 pound beagle and it works great in keeping him out of the master bedroom. This gate is also very attractive looking...it doesn't "look cheap." It's a very nice quality gate at a nice price. Highly recommend it!
