GREAT EDUCATIONAL TOY FOR TODDLER!!!
I wrote my original review after we had played with our Brain Flakes for a few days. Now that it's been more like six months, I think buyers deserve an update! Now, several months later, Brain Flakes remains the best toy in our house. I'm including a couple of pictures that I just took. Remember I said that my 34 year old son automatically picked them up and started building things? He still does! And Kaiden, the three year old, is learning his colors, his numbers and patterns - all with the help of Brain Flakes. I'm going to recommend your product wherever I can as the best possible Christmas present that will delight all children, even the grown up ones! I ordered these for my grandson's third birthday, though the package says for ages 5+. These "Flakes" are about the size of a quarter, 12 different colors. I can't begin to praise how educational these are. We have sorted by color, put in piles of 10. We've built lines in various lengths to learn big/small, high, short, over/under. We've passed them back and forth to learn our manners, saying "please" and "thank you". Even just naming the color helps his language skills. I promise you - this is a toy that will last, and your child can learn many things from playing with them.

Great!
I bought these for my 6 and 2 year old boys with the intention of using them as just another way to build and create. I will say that I enjoyed building with them, but they didn’t as much. My oldest is ADHD, SPD, and ODD - and extremely impatient. I think this would be more suited for children who have the patience, which he does not. I gave this item five stars because they have served a wonderful purpose in our home for not only imaginative play, but another filler for sensory boxes! They’re awesome. As seen in the picture, they have been used for motor development and imaginary food. Im sure as they get older they will begin building. A+!

TERRIFIC PURCHASE! !
Not only does my 5 year old granddaughter love to build with these Brain Flakes, but all the adults who see the jar can't resist also building with the pieces. It encourages creativity, imagination and planning, and my granddaughter can work for hours with the pieces. You can see in the picture what she built the first time she opened the jar. In addition, there was an issue with the item when I received it and the company was extremely responsive in fixing the problem. I am very pleased with this purchase as well as with the company.

Unending possibilities! Kids, teens and adults have all played with these and love them!
This brand is the best! I’ve bought this type of linking toy from another company in the past and it was a much thinner product and did not link and stay together as well. The bucket of 500 goes a long way but I ended up buying two buckets because I knew there would be a group that would be playing with them. Altogether it was two children, one teen, and two adults, one of them with dementia. The small booklet that came in the bucket showed many different possibilities for building items. The group that we had seemed to want to do their own thing and not look at the directions in the folder. This seem to be a much more creative way to play with these links although one of the children asked to keep the building pamphlet to try another time. With a little more than 500 links per container we definitely had enough to use to build a variety of different things. The links are easy to push to gather and just as easy to pull apart. I’m very happy to have bought these items! For much younger children it would be a good project to sort the links according to color or to set up patterns. As the information states in the product description, please don’t use these links for children that put things into their mouth.

PAINLESS IF STEPPED ON, Awesome toy, encourages creativity and sharing! Sturdy, nothing to break.
Bought these as a Christmas gift but today was the first time I had been home to see if the child played with them. Three kids, ages about ten, six, and four, all building stuff from the same jar of pieces. The five year old girl made a bridal bouquet! The ten year old boy made a snowflake, then when one white piece short, rerihhed to make a snowflake with a blue center. Eventually that became a carousel. The four year old boy made a bubble wand, then a motorcycle. Most amazing, there were enough pieces to build all this and keep building! Most impirtantly, they played quietly, encouraged one another, helped each other. No fussing, no fighting. I am back to order more!

Brain Flakes are the BEST FLAKES!!!
These are about the coolest and most original thing I have ever purchased for the kids. The adults love them just as much! A great price and you get 500 which was plenty to build this Ferris Wheel and had a lot let over! I recommend this product, you won't be disappointed! I love the catchy name too!!

Ingeniously designed
This is perhaps one of the most ingenious inventions of this decade. These interlocking circles yield hours and hours of creative fun. The sky is the limit to what one can conjure, even for adults. I purchased these for my special needs daughter to develop her pincher grasp; while the pieces are relatively simple to piece together, she had difficulty pulling them apart (we will keep trying). I find myself building things for her to play; I made balls that she threw endlessly across the floor. They were so sturdy they maintained their shape. I definitely recommend this product as the next best alternative to legos!

My students LOVE Brain Flakes! (So, do I!)
I incorporate the Viahart Brain Flakes into our Makerspace/STEM centers. The students love building and designing with Brain Flakes. They are easy for students as young as pre-school to use by themselves. Our 6th-grade students enjoyed building with Brain Flakes as well. The kit comes with 500 colorful pieces and a small project guide to assist students/adults who need a little help with creativity :) The pictures attached show students in K and 1 being "engineers" and creating their projects. I'll be honest, I love to mess around with them too! :D They would be great in a math center for teaching fractions, ratio, colors, etc. It would be great if Viahart created glitter Brain Flakes too!

I love the open ended nature of these and that the ...
My 8 year old Lego loving, puzzler loves them!! She has looked at the tree and decided to make one her own way and she has just made the rainbow ball following the directions. As a teacher, I love the open ended nature of these and that the shape requires flexibility of thought in a way cubes don't. Divergent thinking is something I want in a person and for toys to encourage.
