An okay toaster for the price
It is the first toaster I have ever had; therefore, I cannot juxtapose it regrading others. However, it is a nice one for its price. What I like most about it that its wall do not get hot while in use. In addition, it is small and can fit any space you have on the counter. In the photos, you will notice that the bread is not toasted homogenously, and if I increase the temp, it will burn. Nonetheless, the bread is toasty and tastes amazing. You have a room where you can fold the cord after being done. Also, it does not turn on if there is no bread in there ( I like this feature). You can see also in the pictures the sliding tray to take out bread crumbs. I would have liked to have a completely removable tray because when you slide this one the crumbs fall all over the place (I may be doing it incorrectly though). All in all, it is a nice toaster to have, but I do not know how long it will last

Good Toaster for the Money
Was looking for a toaster after my 20 odd year old one finally bit the dust. Didn't feel like spending $40 on a toaster so I went with this model and for the money, I think it is a good deal. No frills obviously, just a toaster. And no, it doesn't toast everything just perfect but it does as well or better than the one I had originally. One feature I do like is that the slots are pretty wide and long so you easily fit in a bagel or a larger hunk of bread. And the mechanism that holds the bread is self adjusting. So for $18 I'm happy.

STYLISH, SIMPLE AND INEXPENSIVE FOR NORMAL TOASTING NEEDS
I was looking for a simple and inexpensive toaster that looked stylish and this Hamilton Beach was the perfect choice. I looked at all the options and realized I just needed a dependable no frills toaster that did its job. I've been pleased with this toaster. I've used it to toast English muffins. The slots to seem extra wide. They look like a bagel would fit but I have never tried toasting a bagel. This toaster is light weight and has a crumb tray that opens at the bottom (not a removable tray). I've always liked Hamilton Beach products so I am hoping this will be a dependable product. There is a dial to turn to modify how dark you want your toast and a level to lower the toast. There is a cancel button. Sweet and simple for normal toasting needs. I don't make toast everyday so again, my needs were simple. If you have a large family and are making several slices of toast everyday, maybe you would want a heavier duty model but this one fits my needs perfectly.

Love it!
Got this toaster a few weeks back. I have toast almost everyday for breakfast/lunch/dinner, so am a frequent user. This one works perfectly, and toasts the bread very evenly. The only thing that I don't like is that it seems to take more time than my previous toasters. Other than that, it's a fantastic purchase for the price point!

A LOT OF REASON TO BUY THIS
A lot of great features, the price and the size of the holes for the bread rolls or bagels. I also like that t cools fast and the out layer does not get hot the top does so be careful. it cleans great from the bottom which I love no slide out draw hold it over the sink after it cools and open the bottom and it releases any thing that might otherwise burn leaving a smell. the size of the slots help release the particles of bread they do not get stuck. Yet the toast or bagel toast to perfection because of the holder (gate I call it) holds it in place while toasting. Also I misjudged how toasted I wanted a waffle and I push it down reset the number and it worked. on other toasters I would have had to cancel wait for the cooling down and start over, Those toaster were much more expensive then this. The color matches my kitchen appliances. I JUST LOVE IT!!!

Quality toaster for price
This toaster is so affordable that even if it malfunctions eventually it is no big deal. I've bought much more expensive toasters and frequently stopped working and I had to take the time to call the company, request a replacement, and wait for a week or so to receive a new toaster. I noticed this toaster had a longer warranty than my kitchen aid toaster which only had a year warranty! It says not to toast pop tarts in this toaster. That probably voids warranty if they found lots of pop tart jelly in your toaster. My husband thought that was so strange you couldn't put pop tarts in the toaster but oh well..we really don't eat them often at all. Before my first use of this toaster, I depressed the handle and did a toast without toast to burn off any chemicals or oils that remained from manufacturing. After that, it's worked marvelously. Will update if I have any problems!

Better Than Expected Great Little Toaster At An Unbeatable Price
We aren't big "toast people" here and over the years we've been through many toasters and toaster ovens and frankly none have them have lasted and weren't worth the counter space. Our last one a four slice capacity Cuisinart had been packed away into a cupboard for a year or more and we never thought twice or even once about it. That is until I went for surgery and was facing a long recovery time at home and a simple diet with toast playing a major role. This toaster fits the bill perfectly, it's got a great retro look, the red color pops, the sides stay cool to the touch, it can easily accommodate a bagel and it makes great toast to fit your fancy from a light golden brown to charred. Uncomplicated, well made and under twenty bucks! If you've been searching for a toaster that's basic and simple - I would say you can stop looking around because here it is and you won't regret it. It's a terrific little toaster and an equally terrific deal.

This is toaster
Toaster toasts bread. Toaster does not create money. Toaster does not advise financial success. Toaster does not protect against legal action in murder trials. But toaster will toast bread.

Great lightweight toaster from Hamilton Beach!
I had an old toaster that has lasted a very long time until a few weeks ago. I bought this one because it is a Hamilton Beach and it has cool walls. I was always burning myself on my old one. I have tested this toaster on bagels and it toasts just fine. I like it on the 4 setting which is right in the middle. It keeps the bagel crisp but not burnt. I put my hands directly on the sides while and immediately after it was done and there is no heat coming through. Excellent! Besides the brand name and the cool walls, I also love that it is lightweight and has a place in the back to wrap the cord for storage. I keep my toaster on a shelf in my kitchen so the cord wrap keeps it neater. I have had no problems with this toaster and my only complaint would be that if I lived in Canada the warranty would be 5 years but in the USA it is only 1 year. What is up with that?

So useful - so worth it. How'd I never have one before?
This toaster is amazing! I use it for bread and recently waffles. Works amazingly well. For the price, it can't be beat. If you're worried about it smelling funny in the beginning, don't panic, as that's not unusual for new appliances. Just plug it in, open the windows, and run it on the highest setting a bunch of times. Voila! Fixed! Sure, it might smell a bit at first, but don't you want a toaster? If you want something awesome, you gotta work a little. When I first bought it, I went out to the garage, plugged it in, ran it on each setting twice and then the smell got burnt out or whatever. Now I use it all the time.
