A remarkable company.

This is not the actual compressor I ended up with. You will note that I have given this product 5 stars. I would give it more if i could, but mainly for Kensun support and the company itself. This specific product actually failed me when i was trying to inflate the tires on my truck. I purchased a compressor to inflate the tires of my off-road emergency vehicle. Having the need to air down and re-inflate the wheels often, you can also imagine that the wheels are fairly large. I needed something durable and reliable, after all people depend on my ability to reach them. When tested the said pump, it failed to inflate the first tire to the proper pressure, I switched to the next tire where it over heated and stopped working. I ended up contacting Kensun support about the issue. What I was told greatly surprised me and changed the way I think about the company. They told me the pump I bought may not be sufficient for my application and that i needed something slightly beefier. They not only offered to replace the broken pump, but actually upgraded me to a different model (the one with digital gauge). I have not only tested the new pump, but have been using it out in the field. The fact that i can air up four 33" wheels in about 30 minutes is more than impressive. I cannot emphasize how awesome it is that a company stands behind its products to such a degree. So although the product review is technically for a different compressor, i would still recommend all of their products. I probably would repurchase this specific pump for around the house things that are lower PSI such as bicycles or kiddie pools. It might be even a great thing to keep in a passenger vehicle incase of emergency air up. I don't think its sufficient for constant running, but one tire would be okay. But none the less great products all around.

Revised review on kensun tire compressor

I originally reviewed this product and gave it one star. Order this kensun portable compressor from amazon and first of all, recieved a unit that has been used before as the bottom of the unit that sit on the floor was all scratched up. Maybe it was a returned unit? Called Amazon and they offer me a 20% discount if I decided to keep the unit. I tried the unit and it seems to be in working conditions. So I agreed to keep it. After using the unit for various chords I notice that bottom of compressor buckled and the middle of the bottom is now split open. Was indecided if returning the compressor to amazon or keep it.. My impresión was that this was a first class product and that my kensun compressor was just bad luck. Recieved a call from Jack at Kensun customer service contacted me and offer to replaced with a new one at no extra cost to me. I have been a very happy customer ever since. The little pump feel very sturdy and the quality is very profesional not like other cheap brands that are on the market. Revised my rating to 5 Stars. Great superior product plus great customer service that stand behind their products.

A quality piece of equipment!

Believe it or not this is the first air compressor I have ever purchased! I always have done it the 'hard way' & pumped up all of my bicycle tires with an ordinary hand pump. A friend saw me struggling away & recommended the Kensun D1002 AC (Home 110 V & 12 V car.)This piece of equipment is very easy to use with a very accurate & easy to read gauge, an easy to attach pump hose, & a power cord that is certainly long enough to make most job's accessible. I only wish I would have purchased this a number of years ago & I would have saved myself a lot of hard work!

Great Pump, Thoughtful Design

The meter is handy and the dual voltage 12 VDC or 120 vac is extremely convenient. It runs smoothly and quieter than previous pumps I have owned. Powerful and quick for its size. I was able to re-inflate 4 utility wagon tires in minutes. Plenty of attachments make it useful for inflating balls, toys, small tires as well as automobile tires. Nice carry case is included with electrical cables with ample length. Great for emergency use and compact enough to keep in any vehicle. I suggest you invest in a 12 VDC extension cord for larger cars or greater convenience; it is not an absolute necessity. The 120 vac feature is real handy so as to avoid use of the vehicle power system; when inflating toys and small tires indoors or away from the vehicle, this feature becomes a must have. Of the products I chose from I foud this to be the best and having used it, I am reassured it was a good decision. Don't be caught unprepared on the road ever; buy this pump now to avoid the regret of not having it when it is needed.

Great Features & Easy to Use

Filling Station Pumps are harder than ever to find, often broken and always cost money. Enter Kensun - this product has a ton of of features: 1) In includes the adapters to power it from your CAR or your HOME. 2) Included Gauge is easy to use and read and accurate enough to be safe. 3) A person who has never a powered inflator will understand it 1st try. 4) The included adapters will help you with your sports or pool equipment. 5) It is small and includes a good quality soft storage case which makes it easy to stow away (i.e. trunk) and is worth its weight in Gold when you need it! 6) I had a problem on the first unit that was shipped - but this seller contacted me back and fixed my problem immediately and helped me BEYOND what I expected. Credit card points, being busy and being a person who loves shopping that consists of finding the lowest cost products neatly stacked at my front door makes me shop Amazon heavily. This seller/product's item and customer support grades A+ as compared to the hundreds of products I receive via Amazon Fulfillment annually. RECOMMEDED

I like that it can be used with a regular home ...

Needed to put air in my tires. When we had a bit of a cold snap the Low Tire Pressure light lit up on my car's dash. Tried using the coin operated air compressor at the gas station to inflate the tires, but that didn't work. I decide to check out tire inflator air compressors here on Amazon. After checking out many models available I decided to purchase this one. I like that it can be used with a regular home outlet and with the 12v car plug. Also liked that it looked like it was solidly built, based on the photos and the other reviews on here. Also liked that it can be used for bike tires. It came in a black storage bag, and included the 110 v home wire and the 12 V car plug. Has a separate on/off switch for each power source. Also came with other attachments to fill up balls and other inflatables. Directions are minimal, printed on a small piece of paper. Don't know much about cars or specs on tires or air compressors so i just wanted something that would be easy to use and decent value. Basically, after checking the tire pressure needed, I lugged the unit in and connected it to the tire. Turned it on and noticed a few things. It's rather loud. It vibrates a lot so that when you're looking at the gauge the needle vibrates as well. . Topped off the tires in a few minutes and used a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure. Was a good deal for the price. Handy to have in the car when needed.

I highly recommend this product!

Excellent product and a great addition to my independent self stuff!! Now I can top up the air in my tires any time I need to. The annoying tire pressure warning lights that are great except they won't go off again until you take it somewhere and get air put in the tires used to drive me crazy in the winter with the abrupt temperature changes we have. Not a problem anymore. It takes about 3 or 4 mins a tire, but who cares? It is so easy to use. Tire nozzle clips on nice and secure. Stays put, little air compressor chugs along and the dial shows me when it is time to stop. I checked with a tire gauge and it showed what the dial on the compressor showed so I am happy!! No more trips to the gas station to pay for air! And the seller even sent me a email to be sure I had received the product and that it worked OK. I like that kind of service!! I highly recommend this air compressor.

Amazing customer service

I have had this compressor for over 2 years and it has served me well doing the jobs I purchased it for. It is good value for the money. Recently I developed a couple of issues with the unit which was rendering it almost unusable. I called Kensun customer support and even though I was unable to provide purchase details they were able to look it up and I was out of warranty. After I inquired about any repair service availablilit ythe customer service representative offered to replace the unit for me even though it was out of warranty. Amazing customer service from finding my purchase with just mailing address to the offer to replace. I will look for Kensun products in the future for sure.

Got a better replacement!

This is very weak. I have to use this to inflate the riding mower's tires just enough to drive it to my car to use the cheap one I got from Wal-Mart to finish the job. I only bought this because the mower is behind my house where my car cannot get to it and I needed to be able to plug it into the extension cord. (I have to do all of this because I can't seem to get the tires off of the mower to replace them yet!) The pressure reader doesn't go past 0... It puts air in the tires but only so much and then I guess it just isn't powerful enough to do any more. I feel bad about how much I had to pay for this. I would have paid $20... Not $40. But I needed it :( *****UPDATE: Kensun replaced this with a newer model (Chrome Air Compressor 199-2796-2) and an AC to DC power converter and I am very pleased with the replacement! Changing my review from 3 stars to 5! Thanks for fixing this!!*****

for peace of mind on the road

I'm pleased with this little unit, I've used it several times now to check my tires and fill them in my garage. it is VERY easy to connect the right power input (I've only used the AC so far). The unit is a little noisy, but it fills each tire relatively quickly. The gauge on mine consistently shows about 2psi +/- what my more accurate tire gage says, but that is not a problem. It is heavy enough to have substance but light enough to carry it easily (less than 5 lbs). The AC power cord is generous but in the garage I still need an extension cord plugged into the wall, then it is long enough to very comfortably reach each tire. It comes with a great little zippered bag (nicely constructed) and all the parts fit nicely inside. I bought it to work both as a home unit and keep in the car as an emergency unit. The fact that I can use it for both makes it economical and having properly inflated tires gives me peace of mind on the road.
