Liquid on Each Side Stays Separate

My engineer husband wants to use this pot for Shabu Shabu, but our daughter is vegetarian. Husband brought the water to a boil (16 minutes) and then dropped red food coloring in one side to see if it drifted to the other side. Nope. The red stayed on the right side, meaning we can have vegetable broth on one side and cook meat on the other.

I've used camp burners with butane canister cartridges for indoor hot pot. We've always done that in our household. But I really hate having to keep a count on how many cans of butane we have. There have been times we've prepared everything for hot pot and then realize that we are out of butane. So I've researched and looked for an alternative fuel for hot pot. I've tried those portable induction tops and it takes forever to get the liquid/broth boiling! Once you've added cold ingredients to the broth, it takes forever for the liquid to get back up to boiling. So I am posting a review for this Sonya Shabu Shabu Hot Pot Electric Mongolian Hot Pot because this worked so well last night when we used it. Gets hot very fast and keeps temp. Worked really really during last night's hot pot session. The pot is very easy to clean even though it has a divider in it. And the divider is a must! One side for spicy and the other for non-spicy. Look no further for a great working hot pot. I think I may be getting a few of these for my siblings for Christmas!

Fun, Easy, Whole Food Soup Maker

This Shabu Shabu Pot is very similar to the one we had at our table in a Shabu Shabu restaurant in Hawaii. Not sure how much we will use it but we had a wonderful dinner right after we purchased it. It is big enough for 4 easily. The separate compartments allow for two individual recipes that could easily serve 2 from each compartment. My husband is thrilled, as he loves all soups. This is a very healthy and fun way to eat your veggies, seafood, and proteins. The only care that must be taken is the power supply. We used a heavy duty extension cord to reach the table. You must take care the cord is well out of the way of diners. We have since purchased some "instant" soup bases that we will eventually try. However it is easy to find many recipes to use in this device. It was a fun and more unusual dinner experience at home. Recommend for smaller adult get-togethers.

Great hot pot

Used first time today. Very impressed. Very powerful, boiling all the time. I used spicy on one side and non spicy on the other, and I did not see any seepage. Big volume, feeding five adults easily. For few complaining about performance, the trick is to start with hot broth. I highly recommend this hot pot to anyone.

Loved it

Just used it for the first time tonight - work great ! Checked for leakage between the two sides before using - the divider works perfect we did one spicy side one regular. Short cord make sure you have an extension cord. Easy to use and heat up quickly.

Great product!

We’ve had this for little over a year. This thing hot pot cooker is great. It heats the water quickly and recovers quickly when adding more water or when a good amount of food is being cooked. We like it so much we’re going to buy a second one for when we have our friends over for hot pot!

Great hotpot

They must have read their reviews, because the one I got has welding so excessively well-done that to somebody with a manufacturing background it's clear they were trying to make up for previous mistakes. I've used the thing a bunch, and it's fantastic. Also, this does have the electro magnetic locking ability. I wasn't sure when I bought it, but it does.

works like a dream

With hotpot restaurants closed due to the virus, my boyfriend and I were left craving. This is a wonderful electric pot to use at home to make our own hot pot nights and will probably be our future friday night dinners from now on! The size of the pot is perfect for two people and the separation works really well! Our first night we did miso soup on one side and just water on the other and none of the miso seeped over. It is a little loud while heating up, so it was worrying at first, but it all worked out fine so I assume that's what it's supposed to sound like.
