A $5 cable is a better solution than a new $130 printer
This is a cable that connects a printer to a computer. It works. It connects the printer and computer. Things print efficiently and effectively. What more is there to say? BTW, I used the wire to connect a wireless Brother laser printer to a Dell XPS desktop. The wireless printer at times faced issues. This cable solved all the issues. A $5 cable is a better solution than a new $130 printer.

Recommend for anyone having network connectivity issues with their printer at home!
I was having trouble getting my HP printer/scanner to stay connected to my home network (which I discovered is a common issue after a little research). So I decided to forget about the wireless/e-print BS! It’s nice to have and convenient if you’re away from the printer, you can just send an email but I didn’t particularly need that option so I just keep the printer connected to my PC with the usb cord. Keep in mind you need to turn off your WiFi/wireless on the printer or it will just keep losing the connection to the network even with the wired connection. With the printer connected to my network I could only complete 2-3 jobs before printer lost its connection and I’d have to shut the printer down and restart to regain network connection and that became a huge pain in the you know what! Now I can print, scan or whatever all day no problem! I would recommend this item to anyone having network connectivity issues with a printer!

This cable just fixed the problem that was driving me ...
This cable just fixed the problem that was driving me nuts! I was having continual problems with my wireless HP printer dropping off line. I got this cable, plugged my printer to my laptop and zapp, my printer works perfectly. I have the HP OfficeJet 4650 printer. I also saved close to $30 by ordering this cable that arrived at my home in two days over going to a brick and mortar store.

Works great, quick shipping, affordable
I bought a "wireless" printer senior year for a project and could not get it to connect to my laptop so I basically wasted my money, but being a teenager, I was too lazy to go back to the store and return it and it just ended up sitting on my shelf for about 2 years, fast forward I'm living with my fiancee and need a printer so I'm like "maybe I'll see if I can make this printer connect now." I couldn't. So I looked online for solutions and found out that I could also buy a cord and connect it that way and I found this one, it had good reviews so I wasn't concerned about it not working or anything, I managed to get it for 'free' because I had a little bit of a gift card balance left and it came REALLY quick, like the day after I ordered it. It also works great and is the perfect length to hook my printer up to my laptop but still have space to have my laptop on my bed and comfortably move it around with me. If I ever need to replace it, I will definitely purchase from this seller.

Using the insignia USB 3.0 powered hub with the Amazon cable.
I use this 6 foot cable to connect my 2018 Mac Mini to an HP printer. I have a powered hub because I need more USB ports. At first my new cable didn't work. HP recommends you not use a hub. But my old 15 foot cable did work. I wanted the short one. So I tried sending a print job with the cable disconnected. Then connected the printer directly to the Mac Mini port. To do this I temporarily disconnected the hub and used that port. Aha! It worked!. Then I reconnected the hub and the cable to the hub. Now the printer can recognize the new cable. So I have the desired short cable. Amazon was helpful and refunded my cost since I had gone to such trouble with it. Kudos to Amazon. I hope that this review will help anyone using a powered USB hub.

HP Color Laser Jet best friend
I bought a HP Color Laser Jet printer but it didn't come with a data cable. I tried connecting it using a Ethernet network cord and it was not compatible. It gave me a lot of headaches. I bought this item for a very good price and the set up was very easy. I don't have any issues printing and it's fast. Would I recommend it for use with a printer? Yes, of course. It has been my best friend when I need to print anything quick and with high quality.

A Basically Good Cable
Having worked in retail at one time, I learned the valuable lesson that when you buy a piece of equipment, the accessories and add-ons that are helpfully displayed in many cases right next to the equipment have a profit margin considerably larger than the equipment itself. So, customers who are very happy that the "helpful" sales person pointed out that they needed an extra cable don't realize that the sales person just turned a marginal transaction into a profitable one ... for the store. And, unless the customer has super high-end equipment or is doing professional level work with the equipment, in most cases, whatever additional performance benefits the sales person is touting in regard to the accessories won't make a significant difference. When I replaced my printer recently, I also had to replace the old-style multi-pin cable I had been using to connect it to my computer with a USB A-male to B-male cable. I could have bought one at the retailer in the six-foot length I wanted for $15. Instead, I ordered an AmazonBasics cable for less than one-third that price. For those who might be unaware, AmazonBasics is Amazon’s house generic brand of electronic and computer accessories. I’ve been using this cable for about three months now, and the only place I’ve noticed a difference is in my wallet. The AmazonBasics printer cable is sold in 6, 10, and 16 foot lengths; I bought the six-foot cable. In all honesty, I hadn’t touched the cable between the time I plugged the printer in and today, when I unplugged it to get a more accurate description for this review. The cable is gold plated on each end (which does give you a better connection). It’s a reasonably thick cable, about 1/8" in diameter. The cable is black, and it’s firmly attached to the plug at both ends. The cable is also reasonably flexible; I could easily bend it to within 0.5” of itself. This means that the Amazon Basics cable is unlikely to get pulled out of the plug, cut, frayed, or broken. In other words, it should be pretty well immune to damage from being yanked out, stepped on, or having some bulky object placed on it. As far as how well the AmazonBasics cable works, I’ve got no complaints. The printer prints quickly and accurately every time I send it a command to do so. Of course, having only had the cable for a few months, I can’t comment on how long it might last, However, my general experience has been that cables don’t “wear out”; it’s usually some external trauma that puts them out of commission. The AmazonBasics cable is an inexpensive cable, not a cheap one. It’s solidly constructed and built to last. Although looks can be deceiving, in this case, it has the look and feel of a more expensive cable, and it has worked perfectly for over three months. Basically, the AmazonBasics cable is all you need.

I couldn't go without this cable. 5-star high-quality cable! B-23 approved!
I couldn't go without this cable. I bought this back on Sept 2nd, 2010 and this cable has lasted the test of time. For over 5 years this cable has not let down when I need a wired connection for my printers. Very high-quality and I would recommend to anyone with a USB 2.0 port on their computers. This cable is B-23 approved! USB 2.0 cables are the second generation of USB technology and are the most widely used. Double shielding technology protects these high-speed data transfer cables and blocks out interfering signals from other devices. These cables also come with different connectors. Because many consumer electronic devices include a port for a Type A connection, and most PCs include USB ports that need a Type B connection, it makes sense that the most commonly used cables consist of a Type A connector on one end and a Type B connector on the other. This standard type of USB cable will connect most printer devices to your PC or Mac.

Works great for hooking up a HP Photosmart printer
When I purchased a new router, my wireless HP Photosmart printer would no longer connect to the network. In order to get it to connect, I had to go through some install steps that required a wired connection. Unfortunately, I lost the original USB cable for this purpose and had to order a new one. This cable fit the bill perfectly. The length (6 feet) is accurate to the description, and the connectors are solid. It worked perfectly for configuring my printer back to being a wireless printer.
