Manufacturer's claim of temperature is accurate
I purchased this as a gift for a relative and tested it when it arrived. As you can see in the picture my room was 75 degrees. I turned the cooler on and walked away. When I checked on it after 30 minutes it was down to 40 degrees. The manufacturer's claim is accurate.

Great purchase
I bought this to keep things cold for my cross-country drive. It worked wonderfully, and that's with it running 24/7 for 10 straight days. I bought a basic AC to DC adapter so I could run the cooler inside when I was not driving. You can barely hear the cooler while it is running, and it doesn't generate a lot of waste heat. Not to mention that you can hold a very respectable amount of stuff in it. I was a little hesitant about this since I've never heard of the brand, but the the reviews are what sold me on it (especially compared to the mediocre reviews for TEC coolers from other brands). I highly recommend this if you need to keep groceries cold on the way home or to pack lunches and drinks for a family road trip.

Amazing device. Saved us $500+ in restaurant expenses.
I love this cooler! We used it on a long, 2 week road trip in our minivan. It easily saved us $500+ in restaurant expenses, allowing us to save money and eat more healthy foods by shopping at grocery stores once every 1-2 days. This was plenty big enough to store milk, cheese, salads, yogurts, etc. We kept it in the back and the fan did not bother anyone, it didn't strike anyone as noisy. It kept the food cold, and even when we left the car for a few hours in pretty extreme heat, the unit kept the food cool enough. Perhaps leaving it for most of the day would result in the food getting warm, but we seldom left for more more than 2-4 hours. We bought the AC adapter, which made it very easy to just take the unit into the hotel at night and plug it in. Some reviewer commented that you need to have this turned off when you start the car; that's silly. We just had it turned on all the time. The car started fine and the unit worked perfectly.

It worked fine in that capacity
I bought this a few months back to get ready for a trip where I needed to keep my food cold longer than an icepack would last. It worked fine in that capacity, and I've been using it as a mini-fridge for sodas since. It has held up well, and chills nicely. It is important to keep in mind that these thermoelectric cooler/heaters are not as powerful as a 'real' refrigerator that is run by a compressor. The amount of heat the unit can move is small, so if you want a chilled container, start running the unit a couple of hours before you need it cold, and don't put warm things in it expecting them to cool off rapidly. If I pack it full of room-temperature soda cans, it takes all night to get them cold. But if I pack it full of food/cans already cold from the fridge, it does a great job of keeping them that way. If you want to use it as a warmer, it's a little more effective, as TECs produce a lot of waste heat. But I haven't used it as such, except for briefly to de-ice the heatsink. tl;dr: keep the limitations of TECs in mind, set expectations accordingly, and you will be happy with this cooler.

Excellent cooler with a long cord
I bought this for a family road trip to South Dakota, where the outside temps were supposed to be around 100 degrees. It worked great the entire week, keeping all our stuff refrigerator cold. At one point, I accidently flipped the switch to 'warm', and sure enough, by the time we got to our next stop, everything that was nice and cold, was quite warm. It all chilled back down within 20 minutes after I turned it back to 'cold'. There is plenty of space inside, and it is a nice sized cooler to carry around. I had contacted customer service when it arrived, to ask some more detailed questions on it, and they insisted that I ONLY plug it in AFTER the vehicle was running, because there is a chance that an electrical energy spike could go through the 12v plug, and damage the electrical components of the cooler. This was the only minor pain the butt, because I had to remember to both unplug the cooler when we stopped, and plug it back in after I started up. But it wasn't enough of a hassle to remove a star. We're going to attempt to continue using this cooler on our runs for frozen goods at the grocery, and try the warming feature for take-out food. If anything changes in the next 6-12 months, I'll update this review.

Love this box so far
Spouse is on his 4th day of use with this product. He's in commercial construction. He takes his lunch out of fridge, puts it into the cooler then plugs it up after getting to the shop each morning. Morning lows this week in '50, highs about 78. Not sure how long it takes to get cold. He drives all day from job to job so he keeps it plugged in. Says so far so good in keeping his food very cool to really cold. Showing here with 2 Bento trays & fruit& utensils. Would hold at least 5 trays. You DON'T put ice in it like a regular cooler. Wish I had bought these disposable trays& this cooler ages ago. Will update if we have problems or when it gets really hot here, which it will. May 1: Update. So far, really good. Spouse says it cools off really fast. Keeps everything very cold. He's thrilled that he can take favorites like cottage cheese& fruit in 80 degree TN. heat. So far, so good.

Glad we got this
We recently did a long car trip and decided it would be cumbersome to buy ice every day for our old cooler. We bought this and used it throughout our entire trip, never once buying ice, and it kept all of our cold storage food items (cheese, etc) just fine. It works well as a conventional cooler too, by the way. Wish we had purchased an item like this sooner!

Held Up Admirably for Approx 5400 miles. Then I got tired of driving
I just returned from a 3 week trip across the U.S. For this purpose, I purchased this cooler (have not used it as a warmer) for around 90 dollars. I plugged the cooler to the cigarette lighter port behind the driver/passenger armrest/storage unit. In this manner, I can place it behind the passenger seat. This accomplished 2 main things: One, I can reach/open the cooler to get goodies. This is sometimes challenging because the cooler is rather deep. But not bad at all for tall items, such as soda bottles. Second, the instructions suggest you turn off the unit when the car is turned off to prevent electrical surge upon turning the car on again. January 2018: I've use this cooler for 3 nationwide trips and plan to use it for my March 2018 trip again. Still love it. This is a generously spacious cooler. Because of this, I had to place my car's passenger seat forward and its backrest almost straight up. This allowed for the cooler to fit, for me to open the lid and to swivel the very well built carrying handle out of the way. I don't have any major complaints with the function, design, weight and space with this cooler. In fact, I experienced the illusion that when carrying this cooler, it felt lighter than the items being carried in it (?????). Opening the lid feels a little tricky, but I guess I got used to it. My only re-design wish would be the on/off toggle switch be changed to a push switch. Remember this type of coolers do not have Freon and function as a heat exchanger. For this reason the specs read like: cools to 40 degrees under the surrounding temperature. If its working in an air-conditioned car, the contents will be rather cold. If you're driving with the windows open in 95 degree weather, it will be much less so. Finally, the unit comes with a spare fuse which I hope it is available in a local hardware store.

This little fridge was great! It works best when you fill it up ...
We brought this fridge with us for a 5 week road trip from San Francisco to Alaska. This little fridge was great! It works best when you fill it up with already cold items and once you plug the fridge in, it will stay cold. Don't put in a warm beer and expect an ice cold beer to emerge a couple hours later... It doesn't work that well. For our camping and roadtrip, this fridge kept all of our perishable items cold and fresh. The insulation capabilties of the fridge worked amazingly well too. We left the jeep parked in the sun for 4 days. When we returned I expected everything to be warm in the fridge when I opened it up since the jeep was a hot box while parked in the sun. I was pleasantly surprised to pull out a cool soda! Obviously you only have this plugged in while you are driving. Dont leave this plugged in while the car is not running as it will kill your battery.

Cold drinks-no watery mess! Frozen foods make it all the way home!!
We travel frequently and like to carry our own drinks and sodas when on the road. Previously, we would simply fill an ice chest with "blue ice" and sodas. Blue ice referring to those reusable packs of blue "ice" that cool stuff without leaving water pooling everywhere. Anyways, that idea works for road trips under 4 hours. Any more than that and you are lucky to get a cool-ish soda. Unless you want to pack every bit of blue ice that you own, which we've tried and it is a royal pain the the... Enter, the Wagan 12V Cooler/Warmer-24L size. We have a 2017 Toyota Rav4 and this fits perfectly behind the seats and center console. There is more than enough cord that it will reach from the back of the RAV all the way to the front, if you so desire. We want to be able to access it going down the road, so it sits behind the center console. The driver would have a bit of a problem getting into it at that angle, but I'm typically riding shotgun so that's not an issue. I can reach it from the passenger seat just fine. The cord runs between the console and the passenger seat through a paper towel tube in order to protect the cord when I move the seat forwards or back. The 12V plug in sits nicely on the little tray right in front of the outlet. We have taken drives upwards of 10 hours, probably even more, and we love this thing! Even if you are down to your last soda or bottle of water, it will be nice and cold. The ones on the top are just as cold as the ones on the bottom. All you have to do is start the car, plug it in, turn the switch to the "Cool" setting and a green light will come on. You will also hear a slight fan noise. And I do mean slight. Even in a quiet car, this thing only makes a soothing hum. No whining, whirring, obnoxious noises. Obviously, loading it with cold items gives it a head start on keeping things cold, but that only makes sense. We load everything straight from the fridge to the cooler. No blue ice, thank you. In the instructions, they point out that you should turn off the unit when you turn off the car for 2 reasons. #1 it might eat your battery and leave you stranded with a dead battery. Duh. #2, if you leave it on and plugged in, when you start your vehicle it may send a surge of power into the unit, possibly causing damage. Again, duh. We have no problem simply unplugging the unit when we stop and then plugging it back in when we start the RAV. We don't turn it to the Off position, we just leave it on Cool. We've used this for a lot of hours and had no issues. This even comes in great for grocery runs. The nearest grocery store is over 15 miles away so sometimes we are hesitant to buy ice cream, or anything frozen really. Unless it was the absolute last stop and we were heading straight home, then no ice cream. Not any more! Impromptu ice cream attacks only require us to plug in our unit and let it keep the ice cream perfectly frozen for the trip home. Even if we have to make more stops before heading home. The best report I can give so far is that it kept egg rolls frozen solid from Oceanside, CA all the way to the Oregon border. Obviously, there were multiple stops and there were drinks on top, but STILL!! That's a trip over 12 hours. Overall, I have to give this 5 stars. I can find nothing wrong with this unit. Why didn't I buy one sooner!
