This is a great little charger for GoPro batteries. I have mine attached to my DIY camera rig, which also carries a portable battery pack like this one Portable Charger RAVPower 26800 Battery Packs 26800mAh Total 5.5A Output 3-Port Power Bank (2A Input, iSmart 2.0 USB Power Pack) Portable Battery Charger for Smart Devices (White). With this setup, I have an almost endless supply of power for my GoPro camera as well as my Tascam DR-05 Portable Handheld Digital Audio Recorder #DR-05 K as well as my iPhone, lights and other camera gear. The ultimate in convenience and portability.

The GoPro HERO4 Dual Battery Charger + Battery For HERO4 (fig1, fig2) is a great and efficient way to charge your batteries when you're on the go, and doing lots of things that require more than just 1 battery capacity. This dual charger comes with a battery, just like the one you got with your GoPro when you bought it. One thing that I like about this is that it also comes with its own cable, so you don't have to use the one from your GoPro. This way, if you lose one of your charging cables, you always have an extra one handy and ready to go. The charger also comes equipped with a small little booklet for instructions on how to use the charger, and some safety warnings. It comes in many different languages, so if you don't speak English, you're still set to go. Also, if you don't speak any of those languages included in the booklet, the charger is pretty straightforward and you can pretty much look at the charger and tell how to use it. I believe the battery that this dual charger comes wtih is about half charged, just like the battery when you got your GoPro. So, you'll need to charge your new battery before you go adventuring and use your GoPro. To use the GoPro Dual Battery Charger: Plug the charger into a power source, which I will get into soon. Next, after the charger is connected on both sides of the charging cable, just slide in either one or both of your batteries and it will begin charging. Below the batteries will be a light that I believe is LED, which will turn amber when charging and green when full (fig3). You are able to charge only one battery (fig4), which means that you are able to charge one of your batteries while you use the other, and just switch off. This is nice because I know of some dual plus battery chargers that must use both batteries in order to begin charging. Now for the power source. This dual charger's cable is just like the one that comes with your GoPro, as stated previously. One side connects to the charger (fig5, fig6), and the other is a USB connector (fig7, fig8). This does not come with a wall charger, but you are able to order one separately at an extra cost. GoPro sells their own wall chargers, but they can be a bit expensive. However, if you have an iPhone like I do, you are able to use your iPhone wall adapter to charge your GoPro batteries. Just plug the USB end into your adapter, and connect that to a power source (usually a wall outlet.) I do not know about how well other phone adapters work, but you are free to try it out for yourself. Just be sure to check and make sure that the adapter output is 5V, 1A (fig9). Those pictures were really blurry, but on the iPhone adapter, it shows the voltage right above the metal prongs. Make sure that you are checking the OUTPUT, not the INPUT, and make sure you are checking anything anyway before using it to charge your Dual Battery Charger. If you do not use the right output, there is a chance that you will damage your battery charger. These pictures below that have been referenced in my review itself might help you in your choice of buying this GoPro HERO4 Dual Battery Charger + Battery.

Great accessory especially when you keep the GoPro on during the trip. I use this in hand with a portable charger so if I go on long trips and use the GoPro a lot,I get to use it continuously without a worry of running out of charge.

I purchased this official GoPro Dual Battery Charger + Battery item from Amazon this week in preparation for an upcoming trip where I plan to use my GoPro Hero 4 Silver as much as possible. In the past I've tried to use the camera to charge my batteries at night, but it's such a hassle to remember to swap batteries when they finish charging. Because of that, I decided that I would buy an external charger. There are many choices between the official GoPro product and aftermarket chargers. I don't shy away from third-party products, but when it comes to batteries and chargers, I like to do my homework. In my research I found too many complaints about non-GoPro batteries and chargers to feel comfortable using them. The last thing I wanted was to overheat a battery or my camera by using questionable parts. I contacted GoPro support to ask if they approved of any third-party chargers or batteries, and they do not. This charger is exactly what I wanted. It's compact and has a USB port for charging. I prefer that over a built-in electrical plug. I also ordered a separate spare GoPro battery with this item. They are both charging as I type this review. Thank you GoPro for making a great product! (I was NOT compensated for this review. These are my thoughts based on my experience)

I like not having to charge from the camera because of the heat it generates when doing so. Plus it wasn't ridiculously priced like most GoPro accessories. And I received the item the next day. I should have added 2 more batteries with my order and tossed out the old ones.

Great charger and battery combo. I was worried about voiding the warranty or causing issues with my gopro, so I decided to purchase this product. So far it works perfectly. I really like that I can charge the batteries outside of the camera. Just be aware that this only comes with 1 battery. The price is a little steep in my opinion, but it's certainly a solid product.

I decided to go for the name brand, Sure it costs a little more, but the batteries fit perfectly and are great quality. I hate to hassle with a product after I buy it and the comments on other brands about poor battery sizing quality made me steer clear of theirs and just buy the gopro brand. Saving pennies is not worth the aggravation of poor fit.

Bought for my fiancé as he always has trouble with the GoPro batteries dying, and taking forever to charge back up. He didn’t give me a lot of detail, but I asked him if he’d give it 5 stars, if it worked as described, durability, easy to use, and exceptional battery life, and he said “yes, yes, & yes!” & that he would give it 5 stars. Took it to key west with us and used it everyday. Didn’t complain once about “damnit my battery is dead” so it must have worked!

I pretty much only use my GoPro when I am traveling and adventuring. I wanted an additional battery and a way to quickly charge ONE battery. This option has delivered that and more--it can charge TWO batteries at the same time. Only time will tell how this holds up in the long run, but I see not reason to doubt it. So far I am very happy with this well designed charger.

why did I wait so long to buy this? I've been charging my batteries in the gopro but they never seemed to charge all the way. This pack comes with an extra battery and the color changes from orange to green when the battery is full. It seems like my batteries last forever now.
