I like the fact it can remember radar from those stupid ...
I have had this product now for 6 months or so and feel it works well and is worth the effort of having one. Even provides entertainment for the folks riding. We all say if it saves me one speeding ticket it's worth it. Truly saved me twice! Paid for itself. I see it most helpful when a cop is traveling towards me and checking speeds. Comparing to other products, I like the fact it can remember radar from those stupid radar signs on the road.

A GREAT UNIT, VERY IMPRESSED
So, I am not one that frequently writes reviews, but when I feel a product deserves it will share my feedback. I am the kind of guy that always wants the latest and that is kind of a "nerd" about technology. This unit in my opinion is a great radar detector. I recently upgraded from the Passport 9500ix to this Max2 version and throughly enjoy it. The unit is more sensitive than my 9500ix. I actually ran them side by side (my 9500ix and the Max2) and sometimes recieved a Ka Band alert on the Max2 when my 9500ix did not register anything. Also, the Max2 picked up a motorcycle units Ka Band about 1/2 a mile before my 9500ix even began alerting me. Further, I know there are a lot of debate about the Escort Live application. Since the Max2 comes with a 1 year subscription for fee, I installed it on my Note 4 and got it up and running. I would say that the app and interface between the unit and the app is pretty amazing. Just after the first day of use, I drove into an area where someone else's Max2 auto-flagged Ka Band in use and sure enough, there was a police officer sitting with the radar off and flipped it on once I came into range. Without the app, I would not have been made aware there was a traffic unit in the area and could have gotten a ticket because of flipping it on only when I was in range. It is debatable of how useful the app is because of a limited amount of users, but so far in my area it seems there are a decent amount of users. This is why I wanted to leave my feedback, because if my review can get more people on board it will overall help the community. Hope this helped.

Great Detector. best i have seen so far
Best thing ever. detects far away. the only thing doesn't work is speed limit option. it stays at 70mph to tell you that you are traveling overspeed lol. but I think it is because of Alaska. we don't have lots of satellites here. so it is not set to recognize speed limit of the road so defaults it to 70mph limit lol. every thing else works great. it is awesome escort to have.

I just love this thing!!!
I just love this thing!!! When I was researching detectors, I knew I wanted an Escort. The Max II was a great buy with everything I wanted. Plus, I really like that when it spots a live "ka band" it gives the distance of the detected signal and in the "advance" mode, you get arrows almost just like the Max 360. Wow!!! Gotta love this thing!!!

Worth the $$
I love my radar detector. It took me a bit to figure out features but now that I've adjusted it, am comfortable with it. I could have used a few more instructions with it. I tried the live feature option you can use along with the radar but found myself watching the phone, radar detector and speedometer. You will notice I didn't mention I was watching the road. I found the live feature, you pay to use, a distraction. Obviously, that is my personal opinion. There are great features such as " No X" that keep those radar bands from setting your radar off and the speed monitor, you set, that alerts you when you exceed the speed you set it on ( Mine is 70 mph). I found it worth the extra money for the features.

Perfect performance out of the box!
I have had too many radar detectors (RD) through the years (Fox, Fuzz Buster, BeL X3, Cobra, Escort). I have always run RD without filters, because I would rather deal with false alerts than no alert. I use my detectors for situational awareness. You know, reminds me to check my speed before I enter a school zone if I am enjoying the tunes. I received 3 bonus points on a Business Ethics final with this explanation of why use of a Radar Detector was Ethical. I digress, 3 identical residential roads with 3 different speed limits. One the speed limit fluctuated 4 times in 3 miles. Now you are in a rush and you forget where you are and you are doing 45 on a 30 mph in Carmel Indiana. Carmel will summon you to exchange your green for the paper you received. Over the past 3 months Carmel has added 3 new speed traps to my route to and from work. All concealed until you are on top of them. I have spent the last 3 years running an Escort Smartradar Android with Escort Live (EL) and things were good. Last year I lost the Bluetooth connection to EL. No problem, I just ran EL and manually reported police encounters. Then last month I found the GPS sync was erratic and I decided to research replacement options. While researching I found that Escort had released app EL Android 2.1.6 and rushed EL Android 2.1.7 out this past week. I decided I would like to have the Escort Max 360; however I have a real problem paying almost $700 for an inferior radar detector to the Escort RedLine in performance since it is not RDD stealth. Are you listening Cincinnati Microwave? Just my luck Big Box BB decided to liquidate their Escort Max2 inventory with a 30% mark down to $429 and Amazon price matched the mark down. BB does not like my credit ratio or something even with a FICO of 830, so instead of 12 month same as cash I took Amazon Store card 6 months and Prime delivery. Ok, yesterday the Escort Max2 arrives in the mail on time. I pull it out and sync with EL. I cleared all the filters and just have X, K , Ka & Laser checked. I take off on a 25 mile roundtrip to a friend’s home for dinner. As I exit the neighborhood I am hit with a K band signal that continues to ramp up for 6 blocks before I pass the unmarked unit rolling towards me. First save of over a mile on K band. Next I pass the CVS & WG doors the Escort Smartradar Android with Escort Live (EL) still reported even after a multitude of passes over the past 3 years. Past the Airport and another CVS. Returned vis a diferent route with one more K band false from the Escort Smartradar Android with Escort Live (EL) in the past. Here it is folks, out of the box and all filters removed the Escort Max2 had 1 legitimate K Band alert of over a mile and ZERO false alerts and I did nothing. I am running this just like the Escort Smartradar which would have caught the K band alert and at least 8 false alerts in the 25 mile trip. Escort Max2 is my new Co-Pilot! Welcome Aboard! Update: Trip from Indianapolis to Louisville; only two alerts for Your Speed Signs in 124 miles of travel on I-65. The Escort Passport Max2 is worth the money just in the number of eliminated false alerts let alone the saves.

Great radar detector! BE CAREFUL OF THE RESELLER YOU BUY IT FROM
Great radar detector! BE CAREFUL OF THE RESELLER YOU BUY IT FROM on Amazon. Many of the resellers, some of which are actually fulfilled by Amazon, are not authorized by the manufacturer. That means devices purchased from them, even though they were fulfilled by Amazon, would have no warranty. I confirmed this personally with Escort. They have a unauthorized reseller list on their website that you should check before buying from anyone other than Amazon directly. (...) I thought I was saving a few bucks over the one actually sold by Amazon because their was no sales tax on the one from this other reseller. After I received it and went to register it, that's when I found they were not authorized and that I had no warranty coverage. I am currently returning the one that I purchased from the unauthorized reseller that was fulfilled by Amazon. I ordered it again with Amazon as the actual reseller. None of this is a reflection on the actual product which is really awesome. Just a warning so you don't fall into the same trap that I did. Having no warranty on a device that costs $500 is not good.

So far, so good!
I just received this and these are my initial impressions. To start, I had purchased a Cobra SPX 7800 BT from Costco. It only took a day of many false alerts and some reviews to realize it was an inferior product. After a week of research I settled on this for the following reasons: - GPS, Bluetooth built-in (unlike the Redline) - Long range detection - Auto-learn ability (learns and blocks out false signals like those from stationary speed signs) - Use of iPhone app was optional With just under 24 hours of use, here is what I noticed: - Unit seems sturdy and I like the new magnetic mount - Pairs to bluetooth in under 3 seconds consistently - when in Auto mode (vs. Highway), it blocks out 90% of false signals - It does actually learn to ignore false, stationary signals after a few passes - The ability to flag a location as a false signal is simple (press Mute 3 times) - Ability for it to warn you when you are going over the speed limit is nice (I set it to warn me when I went 5 mph over). I do want to note that it got one area wrong where the speed limit was changed from 65 to 70 last year. However, I have not gone through the process of updating the software yet. - Iphone app makes it simple to configure the unit. A con I see is that to update the device you need a mini-USB cord, which is not provided. Also, I believe you can only update via Windows, not a Mac. I'll update this review again after more use.

A total package radar detector
This is a very intelligent radar detector. I live in a medium-sized town of approx 200K. We have a constant city and county law enforcement presence. This detector has incredible range and the voice prompts are very helpful. There are plenty of resources if you're interested in reading about all of the features but I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Over Speed Warning
Great Item, I think is a littler expense, but it is great. Once you connected it via Bluetooth, you can enter to the setting and change the color of the board (green, blue & orange), change to basic, standard or advance mode, you can monitor your speed with an alert; e.g. you can set the max. speed to 65 mph and the radar detector advise you when you pass that speed (a voice said: "over speed"). I love it, the only think is the price, but if the price is no matter, buy it, i recommended. No ticket after I have it, detect the police a mile or mile and half or half mile from you; depended of the setting that you configure it (another feature you can modify).
