Perfect for small jobs especially in tight spaces.
This is perfect for small jobs around the house. I've used it to blow leaves off a deck, clean a garden shed, clear a walkway & driveway. blow leaves off a gravel path...but it is even better when getting behind tight places like an air conditioner compressor or in tight spaces like the 2 foot area between my shed and our privacy fence. It does a great job of moving leaves while not moving mulch or gravel. I highly recommend getting the long nozzle TP00000199. The rubber nozzle that comes with it is great for blowing sawdust or leaves off a table but it is only a foot or so long. I'm 5'10" and the long nozzle is prefect for getting the air flow down to the deck and path surfaces without the need to bend over. It takes seconds to change the nozzles or the battery. I love this blower and I rarely say that about anything. It doesn't have a power meter so it is extremely helpful to have a second battery to change out if the blower revolutions slow down...indicating low battery. This was a no brainer decision for me as I already use Makita tools so I already had batteries. I use this DUB182Z multiple times a day. At 3.5 lbs it is extremely easy to handle with one hand and maneuver into tight spaces. If you need a blower to replace a regular wired leave blower...there are other choices...but if your need is small jobs or access in tight areas...this would get my highest recommendation. UPDATE: The biggest drawback is when the blower is just not capable of handling the tasks like wet leaves on my deck. My deck is about 300 sq ft and wet leaves on a trex like surface with glass side panels results in leaves sticking to the surfaces and requires my wired blower. Small jobs...dry conditions still a resounding vote yes.

Great little blower!
I wanted a cordless blower that wasn't super heavy and awkward to use, mostly for spiderwebs, leaves, dust in the garage, etc.. Once I got it, I immediately found a million more uses for it, and now my son, who thought it was going to be to small to be effective, borrows it at least once a week for the odd job around his own house. Anyway, it is perfect for regular jobs around the house, inside and out. It is not a commercial grade blower, but that is not what I was after. I just wanted something cordless with a great battery that was easy to use and this fits the bill! The workers installing my new carpet saw me using it and really wanted one too! They thought it was the best!

easy to use
OMG! Cannot say enough about this cordless blower. My wife wanted one that was light, easy to use, and did not have a battery that died after a couple of minutes! We have BL1815 batteries which we used on our Makita driver...that battery lasts for blowing the drive, the deck, the walks, and the garage 3 or 4 times. bot a 3 amp battery and it last lots longer. Makita any time...awesome tools.

Light and easy to handle and more power than expected, even after reading reviews!
Love Makita products! Fantastic blower for my use & applications. If I needed anything more I'd purchase the more powerful battery operated model or purchase a gasoline model. I purchased this blower according to the reviews. Which is how everyone (in my opinion) should purchase anything online before posting a negative review. Because this product is perfect for what I need it for, which is clearing grass/leaves, dirt, and debris from the walk way, porch, and driveway. Super light to handle and runtime at maximum power (with a 4.0 battery) is sufficient to finish clearing everything around the whole house and some. Highly recommended for lighting duty purposes!

I wish I found this blower years ago!
I bought this blower after watching a contractor use it at my house to clean up. I can't live without it now. I have a dryvac which doubles as a blower and its often a pain to un-assemble the dryvac for small blowing needs. I use this blower to clean my garage floor, deck, AND to jump start my coals when grilling. I use as a bellow with my coals and it fires them up super fast. This blower is the size of a regular cordless tool. It has 2 power settings for blowing. The top setting puts out some really good pressure. The cone that comes with it slips off from time to time. My contractor duct taped his connection point between the cone and blower. I used electrical tape and it worked perfect. I really do recommend this tool if you have lightweight blowing needs for cleaning.

Very Impressed! Best Small SIze Blower I Ever Used
I've been buying Makita-brand tools for a couple decades and always appreciated the quality, durability and function of the products. Also, it's nice to be able to share the same batteries and charger across all the tools. This small blower is no exception. I wanted a lightweight blower to clean out the garage, driveway, sidewalks and back deck of dry debris and dirt. This has far more power than I expected for a gadget this size. It has a variable trigger, which I really like, and can be top-limited to any of the speeds with the thumbwheel switch. I also used it to blow out my gutters of dry leaves and dirt which worked very well. It's so small and light, it was so easy to use. Highly recommended with the additional long tube (for dry leaves on the lawn) and dust bag (when used as a vacuum).

General purpose shop blower, not a leaf blower
This is an excellent little blower for just about anything, but it is NOT intended to be a "leaf blower"! They typically have the same velocity or better, but much more air movement. The 300 watt motor, glass fiber reinforced nylon impeller wheel and polycarbonate body are all high quality, well made parts! As far as I'm aware, this is the only blower of its kind that's able to also double as a sucker, as other makes don't have a connection for the nozzle on the side of the device. This is very helpful, doubles as a direct-air vacuum cleaner if you also order Makita's (overpriced) 122814-8 collection bag for small heaps that aren't quite enough to warrant lugging out the shop vac. Since there's a grate to prevent really large debris from getting into the impeller, it's not likely to damage even if sucking up things like ball bearings or metal shavings or any other shop debris. Handy for cleaning out gutters! Blow the leftover crumblies out of the trough, and suck the clogs out of the bendy downward bits! Easy to clean out the tool afterwards, just four screws to get the case apart and one little screw to hold the easily replaceable impeller onto the motor shaft. The rubberish nozzle secures fairly securely to the body of the blower in either of the two positions. The ring with the two "pins" appears to be replaceable in case it breaks - everything on this little tool is very serviceable! A standard 1 1/4" vacuum accessory will fit over the end of the nozzle, in case you want to use a vacuum attachment for further constricting for blowing, or widening for vacuuming up debris. If you're in the Makita "family", pick one of these up! But wait for it (and the bag) to go cheaper as they're both kinda spendy for what they are at their full retail price...

Perfect for my needs
Perfect for my needs. I bought a similar corded blower from Costco, but this one, being cordless, is much more convenient. I use it for tidying up my work bench and drying and blowing leaves off my car. If you are looking for an actual leaf blower to do large yard work projects, this one might be a little underpowered. I know some have complained about no CONSTANT ON mode. My cordless Dyson vacs don’t have one either. Only reasoning I can come up with for this is possibly to conserve battery power?!?!?

Great Little Blower For The Garge
I stumbled up on this little blower at one of the big box stores. It was just what I needed for blowing out our garage and blowing off our sidewalks without using the gas powered Husqvarna blower which is made for larger jobs around the house. I already had Makita tools that used the same battery so didn't have to buy any. I did buy the Makita TP00000199 Long Blower Nozzle. It twist locks on just like the little short rubber one that comes with the blower. I highly recommend buying the long nozzle, it just makes the little blower just perfect. Amazon had the best price so I ordered it from them.
