Walnew Wins!

When I bought my Paperwhite, I purchased the (very expensive) Amazon brand leather case that form-fitted to the back of the device. I've had many other cases for other Kindles and devices. And I've lost/broken Kindles and devices because of poor fitting or cheaper cases. But, when I bought Paperwhites (on a special sale for Mother's Day--for both my mother and grandmother), I decided to try these to save a little money. My mother and grandma loved them! I couldn't believe how nice they were for the price! And I liked theirs so much that I bought one for myself. All of us have been using these for about 3 months at the time of this review. I had been using an Amazon brand leather case for about a 6 months before buying the Walnew case. Walnew case compared to the Amazon brand leather Paperwhite case: - The Walnew feels lighter - The Walnew is slightly thinner - I prefer the smoother textured feel of the Walnew case exterior - They are all beautiful -- I bought the "Blue Night" case for myself, and the pictures online don't do it justice! Those colors pop! And the exterior has some kind of textured clear-coating that makes it look like a real painting--under some lights. - The magnets for cover and auto-wake are okay on both cases - not too strong, not too weak. - I read with the cover completely open and against the back; and I really like the soft (rubber? suede?) feeling of the Walnew's interior flap as I hold it. The outer case is textured just enough so the case's panels don't slide along each other while being lightly held together. - One possible down-side of the Walnew is the thinner/lighter case might provide marginally less protection vs heavier/thicker options. But none of us are rough on our devices, and after several months they all still appear like new. I've even accidentally sat on my Kindle several times and it's just fine (that's how I broke my old 3rd-gen Keyboard Kindle). - Both cases hold the Kindle Paperwhite perfectly with and form-fitting back. Both are very tight. I've never had a Kindle fall out. In fact, it's almost difficult to take the Kindle out of both cases. -The Walnew ones are less than half the price of the Amazon brands Overall--I'm very pleased with this product and I wish I would have bought this first!

This Kindle case far exceeded my expectations. I wasn't too thrilled about having to buy a case since I love the way my kindle looks without one, but I know that I needed to have something to protect it. I chose the red leather "vintage" case. It very much resembles the cover to a real book, the quality is excellent, and I received it a few hours after I placed my order!! One of my favorite purchases on Amazon so far :-)

A great decision to buy this.

I have actually already tired of the design but the cover is great. The closing and opening and its automatic start for the Kindle works beautifully and makes reading much easier. It has changed my thinking about Kindles and I now enjoy using them more. The cover folds back completely and makes it feel like a real book. I also realize having my Kindle in this type of cover makes theft less as people who might consider stealing a Kindle might not realize on is inside this book looking cover. I can leave it in my office or on my bookcase without worrying if it will be easily stolen. I know that may not be a problem for many of you but where I live this is a big consideration.

Really lovely design and definitely does its job

My first kindle was the normal kindle (not paperwhite), and to this day I regret not buying a cover for it. I guess the material for that model was just a lot cheaper because I notice it would get scratched up really easily. And the scratches of course never go away, making it look really funky and scrappy. Now that I've invested in the paperwhite (which I love btw), I was determined to preserve its pristine condition. Glad I bought this cover - it;s both cute and practical, not too bulky, and it does a stand up job of protecting my precious kindle from scratches. Also, it does this cool/somewhat annoying thing where everytime I open the flap, my paperwhite would automatically wake up from its sleep mode and the screen would turn on, ready for me to read.

This's thin and light and better than expected

This's thin and light and perfect. I had a Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Leather Cover since I ever got my Paperwhite, and recently I stared to read longer before bedtime. So found out with the leather case, the Paperwhite is too heavy to hold for a 2 hour reading. Then I found this one, it's cheap, and I didn't expect high quality at all, just wanted a lighter and thinner one. Tho this one is much more than I expected, it's noticeably thinner and lots lighter than the Amazon leather case, and the quality is so good that it looks fancy. However, for the one I selected, (Black flower), the background color is not black at all, rather it's vivid navy, which looks much better than black color showed in the picture. One thing to know, the edges of the cover are pretty shaper, was worried it would cut my hand when I read, but it hasn't so far.

Very happy with my choice

After comparing the reviews on this case to more expensive leather cases, I decided to go with this one. Very happy with my choice. It is lightweight and provides the necessary protection for my Kindle paperwhite at a great price. My major concern on purchasing this case was that it is made of PU leather, so I wasn't sure if I would like the quality and texture. Hoping it wouldn't feel like cheap plastic. It does not have the heavy sturdy texture of leather, but more of a soft oily texture similar to that of hands immediately after rubbing in hand lotion. Sounds odd, but it's nice yet not slippery. The inside of the cover feels like a piece of thin suede. The cover wraps around the Kindle nicely, so it is very comfortable to read in an open book fashion or wrapped. Some reviewers made the comment that the Black Flower design arrived as dark blue, however my case is definitely black and white. The design is elegant. I haven't noticed any cracking or fading. I believe I will get my money's worth from this case, and so glad I saved the money.

I love it!

When my Kindle disappeared (lost? stolen?) during a recent trip, I replaced it and ordered this cover to go with it. My old Kindle had a deep scratch on the screen because of an encounter with my keys, and I thought it best to protect the new one - plus I wanted to make sure it would stand out and never be misplaced. This cover is truly wonderful. My new Kindle Paperwhite fit into it easily. And it's absolutely gorgeous. It makes my Kindle look like an old hardcover. I love that opening the cover and closing it turns the Kindle on & off. Much simpler than pressing the button on the bottom. And the magnet is covered, so there's no risk of it separating or falling out. Also, it fits like a glove and feels great. I can't recommend it enough!

Great for the price!

This is a great cover. It's beautiful and a good reolica of Van Gogh's painting of Almond Blossoms. It keeps my kindle paper white covered and protected, I feel. It Higgs the outside of the kindle securely and closes securely. It does not flap open and is easy to put on and pull off. I would order this again. Great value as well.

One of my favorites

I don't go anywhere without my Kindle so this case was perfect. I have used different cases through out the years including Amazon's lighted leather and some vinyl skins and this is by far my favorite. It is thin and light which is great. It stays closed when in my purse so nothing gets between the case and the Kindle and the design was really cute, I just might order another one in a different design just so I can change them out once in awhile. Unfortunately I have dropped my Kindle more than once or it has fallen off the back of the chair, but the case has protected it for me.

Helpful, functional and gorgeous, hard to find in electronics covers and people.

Love that when I close the cover the kindle turns off. Well, not off but back to the offish setting. Arg, you know what I mean as if it timed out. Plus the covers are easy to find in a bag, or a living room, or a hotel room, or a hotel pool, or an overpriced restaurant with boring people etc. My point being that I've always tried single eye catching colors for my covers. But still could lose them. Just be careful, there's a reason camouflage has wavy lines of different colors and length...because it works. So if you do buy covers with a priority being to be helpful in locating your kindle just don't get a design that would actually act as camouflage. It'll just make it easier for your kindle to run away and join all the other lost kindles where one day they will rise and...hey who are you, where are you taking my kindle? What's the duct tape for?
