THRILLED TO FIND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR.....
Just what I was looking for. I have two Himalayans, each around 12-13 lbs, indoor cats. The only time they are out of the house is when going to the Vet or to have their hair shave down to a lion cut. I am 72 years old and considerably active but putting two good size cats in a hard cat carrier weighing about 10 lbs, plus 24 lbs worth of cat was killing me. I thought of putting rollers on the cat carrier but it was extremely difficult because I had to lift the case into the car. After years of chasing the cats and crawling under the bed and elsewhere whenever they saw the case, changed when I purchased two of the pet carriers. They are sturdier than I thought plus the bonus that they had to stay in it for over 7 hours because the groomer was backed up. It was great and just popped right open when I removed it from the box and the elastic around each one. In fact one of the groomers wants to get one too for her cat. An extra surprise is that I can put my 10 lb. Pomeranian dog in it if necessary.

A joy of a cat teepee
I've only used this carrier on the 10 minute walk with my 12 pound cat to vet. The best thing about this carrier? Well let me tell about my cat Gill. He gets scared, he spazzes out—he's a real life Schnarf. Anytime you try and shove him in the carrier, he thinks he's going to die. He hates the hard carriers. I even tried one of those softer carriers that zips with the flap on top and he hates that too. It's also a struggle to not get his hair caught in most zippers. This carrier is great because it's like a fun teepee when he can just go hang out. He didn't mind being in there at all. My other cat likes it a lot too. It could be just a little sturdier, but for my purposes, the Portable Ultra Light Cat Carrier is a great item.

Copernicus approved! 😺
My cat is about 11 pounds, he's not too big. This was great though. The only adjustment I made was to add a piece of cardboard to the bottom. It's supported already and it's strong, but I just wanted to add a bit more support.

I did put one of her little furry cat beds in the bottom so she is more comfortable and won't scratch the bottom of the carrier
I ordered this to take my cat to the vet (once a year) as even though she is small (7.5 lbs) she fought me to go in the door of her other (hard) carrier and this one I can put her in from the top. The zipper is all the way across and down where I can just put her right in and she goes down deep enough to zip it and not catch her in it. I did put one of her little furry cat beds in the bottom so she is more comfortable and won't scratch the bottom of the carrier. She hates to ride in the car and cried all the way but I could see her from all sides and talk to her and lay my hand on her back to sooth her. It is the perfect carrier for her as she is very scared as she is entirely a house cat. Kaye

Love this carrier!
This is a wonderful & very affordable carrier. I researched a lot of soft carriers & I'm very happy that I decided to purchase this one. My kittens love it & they feel very relaxed because they can see everything through the mesh. I also love that it folds up & can be stored in a drawer!! That is brilliant!

Nice carrier; yellow caution tag translated here for you.
This is a nice carrier for short trips in the car; I took my 12lb-er to the vet in it recently and he fit comfortably. I will use it for my 10lb-er also but I wouldn't use it for my big 18lb boy. I think it would be too flimsy for him and too hard for me to hold, but you may think differently. I love that it folds flat but I haven't been able to fold it up in the manner it arrived. The carrier comes with a big yellow tag on it written in Japanese. A friend graciously translated it for me: I think the company is being overly cautious but here goes: Caution This product is folded by spring force, so it may open vigorously.. When you assemble this product, keep it a distance from your face and please assemble slowly. Keep children’s hands a distance from product.

Love this cat carrier
Love this cat carrier! I bought it to transport my cat to the vet. I usually have the hardest time getting my cat into a hard shell carrier. With this, I just picked up my cat and put him in the carrier and zipped it up. Super easy. I also like that this carrier folds flat so that it can be stored in a drawer. The directions are written only in Japanese but you really don't need to be a genius to figure out how to use the thing. My cat is about 15 pounds and he had plenty of room.

Great product
Only carrier I've ever used that is so effective. My cats usually freak out when they're in a carrier, yowling, scratching, the whole thing. In this one, they are calm the entire time. I took my 2 small cats in this carrier to the vet the other day (held up well, but they are small cats, so I can't speak to its ability to hold heavier cats) and they were calm the entire time. They went in easily, i zipped it up, and carried them out. They were of course nervous, but because it has so much visibility for them (all the mesh) and good air flow, they didn't feel trapped, and instead were just really interested in everything happening. they were poking their heads around against the mesh trying to see outside, and when I held the whole thing on my lap at the vets office, they could sniff my hands through it, and could feel my lap below them (since it's not a hard shell case) and I could tell they were less afraid because of hte contact and familiar smell of me. The problem with heavier, hardier cases, is that it's just that much barrier between the cats and everything familiar. I also made sure it was a safe space for them. When I first got the carrier, I left it out on the floor with the flap held open by the handy velcro piece, so they could get used to its smell and shape. They like to sleep inside, it and play around it/in it. I've put treats in there before too. So when it eventually came time to actually use it, getting them inside it was easy, and even after we got back from the vet, I left it out in their play area so they can continue to see it's just a thing, and not only associate it with scary trips to the vet. Really great product overall, especially for the low price!!!

Perfect for Hauling Kitty into Vet (minimizes cat Freak Out)
Ditto the other reviews: bought it b/c my cat abhors the hard carriers (literally scares the poop out of her) but vet insists I bring her in a carrier or don't come at all. While cat wasn't happy, she just yowled a lot. I liked it b/c not only lightweight but small "footprint" allowed me to quickly hoist her onto their counter, above the fray of dogs also in lobby. Hard carriers tend to take up a lot of space and can pitch over if on a counter. Cat's no delicate thing: a tall, 13lb tabby who reverts to scrappy street cat under duress (was a stray). Easy getting cat in & out. Like that it folds for storage; my vet tech thought it was the greatest and did a show&tell for entire staff.

and it was fairly easy to get him in and out of the carrier
My cat is about 17 pounds. He fit comfortably(ish) in the carrier (could turn around, etc), and it was fairly easy to get him in and out of the carrier. It is a little tricky to fold up (but it can be done, and the instructions, though they seem weird, are pretty straightforward), and it did definitely have a strong smell when it arrived, but after a couple of days it aired out and smelled pretty normal. The zipper sticks a little sometimes, but overall, I'm very happy with this product. Update: I have taken my cat to the vet several times in this carrier, and it has worked very well. I have also gotten several compliments on how nice the carrier looks.
