A Delightfully Well Thought Out Scale

This scale turnedis an absolute delight. Well designed, it can measure from a few ounces to 10 lbs, and can display in oz and lbs OR in grams. With input of a simple food it will give you a "Nutrition Label" readout for the amount the food you are weighing. By zeroing the scale with an empty container, then adding food, you can net out the food without having to weigh the container. The food codes for scores of foods are supplied in an accompanying folder, or you can use data from other sources. Both the food list and the simple instruction manual are durably coated for easy cleaning and durability. As a side benefit, I got rid of my old postal scale, as this one is more accurate and has greater range.

Good scale, but needs more food nutritional data.

There are not enough products with codes. I know I can add custom codes... however it would be the cat’s meow if I could scan a barcode, get the nutritional info, weight my product and get the exact data for the exact product I am eating. The scale is great. MyFitnessPal app allows me to scan items and delivers exact nutritional data. Now, y’all need to find a way to put all of that together.

Absolutely wonderful

If you are or want to be aware of the nutritional value of what you are eating this scale is the best product you will own. It is a must have in your healthy life style and that of your children. I eiuld recommend it to anyone. I am most definitely going to buy a few of more scales as gifts for my sisters and my sons and their wives.

Great for carb counting.

This scale is working great. My wife had a reaction to a steroid she was prescribed. It cased high glucose levels. As a result, she has to limit her carbs. This scale does a great job of doing the math with portion sizes. The values given are very accurate. We tested the scale by measuring out several foods and comparing the values to the ones listed on the foods packaging. The numbers were the same, or very very close. One of the nice features is the ability to add one measurement to another. So when making a salad, it will keep track of the ingredient's nutritional info as you add things. About the only thing I wish this scale had was a backlit display. That would be really helpful. Since the scale sits under an upper cabinet, the display can be hard to see sometimes. This scale is a MUST for those watching their macros. It is truly amazing. All you do is enter in the food code and you have all the nutrition information you need. I use this for my Zone planning and recently bought a second one for my chef.

Read and follow the directions!

I love this scale for helping me keep track of my macros on Keto. I honestly don't understand some of the complaints about the scale being hard to use - read the directions, people! Yes, you do have to put in code numbers to get your nutritional breakdowns but as far as I know, no food scale with a computer chip and a camera to identify what food you've placed on it and if there was one, it'd be so darned expensive you wouldn't be able to afford it! Just read and follow the instructions instead of expecting someone else to do the work for you.

Great Price, Great Product

I just got this and I love that you can first weigh the bowl or container you’re placing the food in. I love the ability to add custom foods. I also don’t have an issue with the lighting on the scale because I don’t plan on using it in the dark. I think the size print would be hard for some people to read but it’s still decent. The size of the scale isn’t huge but in terms of food portions, I’m not sure why anyone would be measuring something like a whole watermelon on that thing. I like the silver color since it’s modern and matches. I love that the book is laminated so getting food or condiments on it (or whatever), make this very versatile and last a long while.

Wonderful kitchen tool, can't live without it!

My son has type one diabetes and we needed help measuring carbs, especially fruits and vegetables. It has been an absolute life saver when it comes to things like apples and bananas that always come in different sizes. The code book is awesome! So many food codes in it. I also use it to weigh small crackers instead of counting them each one by one. I can't live without this thing!

The website is great in helping make this device work effectively. I'm amazed how many calories I consumed in the course of just breakfast alone. I've started the 5-2 diet, and this scale helps immensely in counting calories on my diet days. Highly recommend not only for the quality and price of the device but for the excellent website and personal support. Only room for improvement is to add oz. capability to custom settings (I tried adding coconut water to custom settings and was told I'd have to convert oz to grams...no biggie but had to call to find out).

Everything you could ever want in a food scale! UPDATED

UPDATE: this is the best food scale I have EVER owned!!! I wish they also made a portable version!!! 8/10/17 I've had the scale for two days and I actually called (and emailed) customer service because I wanted to ask 2 questions: 1. can custom codes be overwritten since they are limited (A: Yes) and 2. is there a way to enter food label information without creating a custom code. (A: No) The scale is amazing; it's easy to use and look up codes. It also has a zero feature that can allow you to calculate your meal. Shipping was quick, customer service is expedient and friendly, and the scale arrived as described, in perfect condition. My favorite feature besides being able to add custom foods (using a food label) is the on/OFF button. I love being able to turn it off instead of wait for it to auto shut off. I also love being able to turn it on without having to do those annoying repeated taps, presses, etc. This is a great design scale. As of right now, one of my best Amazon purchases! The only thing that was somewhat of a con for me is I wish the scale had the ability to directly enter food label for foods WITHOUT having to save a custom code for it. It would've been great to have another mode "Label" that would allow you to instantly enter food label info for that one-time item. I did test the over-writing of a custom code and it is true...you just have to clear the current info and re-enter the info for the new food and it will save it and replace the previous info.
