I have tried almost all of the different Quest protein chips and l lubs dem. These are great for the health conscious snacker. I have always eaten chips but as l get older l realize that its easier to get fat and l have never desired to be fat. If your expecting these to taste like the very unhealthy chips you eat way to much of you will be disappointed. If your one of those people like me that have common sense and have always watched what they eat then you will easily take to these. If you are trying to change your horrible eating regime then you should give these a try just keep in mind that these do not have all the horrible ingredients that have got you in the predicament your in. The first time l tried these l thought that they were pretty good after eating them several times l never want to eat any of the very unhealthy chips at the grocery store. BBQ is my favorite and the sour cream and cheddar and sour cream and onion are tie for second favorite - l have not had a chance to try the other flavors because they are not currently available or waaaaay too expensive but l will try them as soon as they are made available. Its never to late to get healthy!

I have been eating low carb now for a year without “cheating”. What I consider my success, is in part due to products like this one that help me feel like I am still eating “normal” and accessible food at lunch at work, or when we go out to the beach. The purists will say that we should all be eating just vegs and meat. And that’s fine! But seriously, when you grow up eating a standard American diet, there are certain foods - like chips - that are simply ingrained in your comfort eating zone. Of course, I also eat pork rinds, carrots and sugar snap peas. But sometimes a body just wants some chips, you know? The product is expensive but I think it is worth the price. These chips are one of my favorite treats and I try and take these for lunch once or twice a week. I will vary these with cheese sticks, pepperoni, hard-boiled eggs, Quest cookies... These are the foods that will actually remove all lunchtime hunger with a beverage. If I am pressed for time, the chips and a drink (or alternatively two hard-boiled eggs and a drink) will actually be satisfying enough to not think about being hungry until work is done. I have ordered these chips multiple times now in all the flavors. By far, my favorite flavor is BBQ. They always arrive in fine condition, the chips are not crushed or stale. The bags are sturdy compared to the regular Lays bags. I am not sure of the significance of this higher quality bag, but I think it is worth noting that the bag may have to do with the price. The consistency of the chips is more reminiscent of Pringles than regular potato chips. These seem to be made with a high protein base. So when you crunch them (and crunch they do!) you may get a pasty feeling in your mouth - like eating a thin cracker and not a potato chip. I do not mind this. I may have been thrown off a bit by this the first time I ate ONE chip, but I am used to it. It's like getting used to Stevia or Splenda. You know it's different, but it is not different enough to stop you from becoming a user of fake sweetener.

Shocked at the 3.5 star reviews! Guys these are protein chips NOT greasy junk food, don't expect the same taste. Honestly they are pretty awsome and help so much in reaching my protein goals. If you can tolerate baked lays and want more protein in your life this is the chip for you. If you're not looking to add protein then I don't see why you'd spend so much on these vs a normal back that's 1/5 the price and likely better, though less healthy, taste.

As a medical student, I rarely have time to prepare full meals for myself and often resort to snacking to keep the hunger at bay. In undergrad, I became quite fond of crunchy goodies like Lay's chips, much to the dismay of my body. Knowing I would be extremely pressed for time in med school, I spent my pre-matriculation summer getting into shape and attempting to develop healthy eating habits. While I made significant progress, the chip craving was one that simply refused to go away. Checking amazon for healthy alternatives, I discovered protein chips. What an incredible invention, chips that are good for you and help nourish your muscles! Unfortunately, many of them used soy protein which I'm wary of due to the phytoestrogenic isoflavones. Several research publications identified rather undesirable effects caused by regular soy consumption in males. While one bag of chips a day most likely wouldn't result in any remarkable effects, I did not wish to experiment. Thankfully, I came across two options that did not use soy protein in their products: Quest Nutrition and ProTings. The ProTings were alright - they had the crunch but despite the abundance of flavor, could not mask a buckwheat-like taste. Quest Nutrition's chips, on the other hand, were simply amazing. I was expecting to experience a protein shake aftertaste considering the high milk and whey protein content, but noticed none in the BBQ flavor (although the sea salt flavor had a considerable one so I don't recommend it). They had the lovely crunch of typical chips and a tasty BBQ flavor with incredible macros and very little fat and carbs. The food scientists at Quest Nutrition did a phenomenal job. Today I received the "improved" version and it's even better. They are indeed expensive compared to your typical fatty chips, but if you enjoy crunchy snacks as much as I do, I believe it's better to pay a bit more from your wallet than pay with your health.

Let's talk about why I love these chips.... bbq has the best flavor for dipping. I use a quarter cup of low fat yogurt with any seasoning, onion dip mix, dill dip mix, ranch mix, etc... whatever you like best, then you can add any lowcal veggie, green onions, cucumber, chives, chopped and drained spinach... then learn how to dip them without breaking them, it's a short learning curve, easy peasy once you get the hang of it.... half the chips will be broken upon arrival... they're fragile, they're shipped, expect it AND appreciate it.... dip the chips then use the rest as a topping for a. the rest of the healthy dip, b. healthy choice crustless chicken pot pie, c. add to your salad... these are delicate and as long as you don't eat them all by themselves, they're perfect. Don't expect them to immediately bust hunger, they take ten to twenty minutes to fully satisfy... but these and a dip or these on a salad, etc etc... best way to add whey protein to your healthy diet I have ever tried.

I love this flavor!!! These taste a lot like bbq potato chips (especially to someone like me who cannot eat real potato chips because of blood sugar rise from potato). Only down sides are: they crumble easily, so each bag has a lot of broken chips; and price (much higher that potato chips). However, considering that these actually provide a nice amount of nutritional value (versus approximately zero or even negative nutrition in potato chips) the price becomes much more reasonable. Compared to protein bar—about the same price and nutrition. Plus: bbq chips is one of my most favorite flavors in the whole world! And now I can have it! Thank you!!!!

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase! I was hesitant to buy it at first, because some of the reviews are say they are tasteless, taste like cardboard, or have a bad aftertaste. I didn't find this to be the case... In fact, i really liked the barbecue flavor, even though I don't typically like BBQ flavors... The chips themselves are good. They tasted fresh and crispy. They're lighter in flavor and texture compared to junk food chips... So, if you're looking for comparison, you may be disappointed. But they're way healthier, have a lot of protein and are low carb. Overall, they're a great snack or addition to a meal. I will be purchasing the Sea Salt flavor next...

You can't ask for a better chip that has such high protein content and such low carb content, as someone who works out and tries to eat healthy, these are perfect. They don't necessarily satisfy as much as a potato chip, but they will satisfy your cravings for chips, the flavor is great, the texture is as good as a potato chip can be it they potato chip wasn't actually made out of potato. They almost melt in your mouth, but not the same as a potato chip, this is because it's not primarily carbohydrate, bit is protein, and potato chips seam to melt in your mouth because your saliva contains enzymes the break down carbs. So it you're simply looking to cut a few calories by replacing potato chips then you might love these or you might hate these. But if you work out and you really do eat healthy but you can seem to get the texture and taste or potato chips out of your mind as you're cutting carbs, this is what you need.

Absolutely Love These Chips! I haven't had anything remotely close to a potatoe chip for over 2 years. I love chips but over ate them. Can't eat just one, right? Anyhoo, eating Quest Protein BBQ Chips by itself kinda missed the mark. For example the first bite is amazing but as I chew and start to digest it the texture and after taste is weird (can't find the words to describe it). Also could use a bit more salt. Fast forward: I ate the BBQ chips on the side withTuna Salad and oh boy the flavors and texture balanced out perfectly. I just re-ordered BBQ flavor and will try Sour Cream and Onion next. Most importantly I'm on keto diet and my weight loss has not stalled. Thank you Quest and Amazon!!!

Like many other people note your millage may vary with this product. I love snacks, but I've never been a huge potato chip eater. However, trying to get more protein and less carbs in my diet had me try some of the Quest products. My first try with the chips was with the Cheddar and Sour Cream version. I liked it but was very aware that the consistency of the chips didn't feel at all like a real potato chip or even a traditional baked chip. The next one I tried was the BBQ version and I liked it a lot! If you are looking for a good high protein snack food with different flavors this product could be a good fit. If you are looking to replace your potato chip with something healthier this is a good replacement but you will likely have a hard time with it. 2016-08-25: Note: The product being sold here seems to be the old version with 5 net carbs. The new version from quest has 2 net carbs.
