I needed black screws. These are black screws. I was able to screw these screws into the wall. I've been screwed by screws in the past when their heads strip when you try to turn them with a Philips head driver. These screws have very substantial heads and coming from a nice family of attachments, they don't strip. Some people want to screw anything and pay a lot of money for screws that strip,. I'm a married man who only screws things my wife says I should and I wanted something that screws without stripping. I would buy these screws all night long.

I was in the middle of redoing my door hinges and needed some longer black screws. With the pandemic going on, I didn't want to risk going to a home improvement store at the time. I ordered these screws as everyone seemed to like them in the reviews and I hoped they matched my hardware (or were close). Once I got them, they pretty much blended in with my matte black hinges and other screws. I pre-drilled the holes and drove these is with my cordless drill into each top hinge as the doors all seemed to droop down enough not to close properly. These fixed the issue by driving the door back into the frame just enough. They are made of high quality material and did not strip at all (even though I did attempt to do so with my clumsiness at times). Highly recommend even though they are a little pricey over normal screws, but black seems to be a hard color to find regardless of where you look.

I switched out my interior door hardware to matte black levers and to save costs on buying new hinges I simply spray painted the old brass ones with satin black spray paint for metal, with a matte clear enamel. I ordered these #10s in 3/4 length to replace the old wood screws and they are PERFECT! I'm about to order another box, these are perfectly matte black screws, even my impact driver skipped a couple of times and no nicks on the screw, LOVE THEM!!!

They hold things in place. They work.

Sure, it may look like a screw, but this one is far better than many types and brands that I've laid my hands on. The threads are precise with a nice, sharp edge that bites into the wood for a more secure hold. The finish is satin-perfect that would make the famed architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe excited by the intense, attention to detail. I've sampled a good subset of the 100 screws in the box and they're all identical, even at magnification. Process control is excellent!

The big box brand store wood screws that are Zinc coated are very soft and strip out easily, especially in hard woods or when using an impact driver. These hold up amazingly well and I havent stripped one out yet. Even with impact driver into red oak with no pilot hole. I will be buying these again. I also like the black finish rather than the zinc finish of the big box store brands. The black finish doesn't chip off while driving them in and tends to blend in more with the types of projects I use these on when I am not covering them with plugs or putty. The black finish also makes them great for things like car audio and other electronics mounting. For example, mounting speakers into a speaker box. The black screws disappear with the color of the speaker surrounds and it looks really clean. These screws are great.

I submitted a return so I could order the #10s but the seller was amazing and refunded me for these without requiring me to return them. As it turned out, I did need to use this size to replace the ball catch units on my gallery doors and they are perfect matte black. I ordered the #10s and have given an excellent review of those as well, and added photos of the hinges that I painted black and needed the #10s. The diameter on these is skinny but make great project wood screws

It works just like a screw is suppose to. End of story.

One of the side pieces to our futon split open along the seems that were held in place by dowels, and "loose" mortise tenon construction. A 1.5 inch by 3/4" bracket was also used with some really small screws in four places. Two of those brackets came loose as well. After reapplying wood glue to the dowels & mortise tenon joints, I used a Kreg R3 jig to make some additional pocket hole and secured with Kreg screws. The last step was to straighten out the bent brackets and reattach them with beefier screws and this screw worked out perfectly. I took a toothpick and trimmed it to the size of the hole, insert it then drove these screws into each of the 4 holes and no complaints. It's holding the brackets in firmly. I will also be buying the next size up in length for some other brackets on another furniture repair.

They do the job they are meant to. I have no clue why they would ask you to rate the softness though. That’s really weird.
