As an underweight person, this is really great for gaining weight when you can't quite eat enough calories in the day. In the previous four years I've lost 5 pounds from my already low weight because I wasn't getting enough calories in my usual diet. I needed desperately to gain weight because I couldn't get myself to eat more food as I wasn't used to it and the fact I have a very busy schedule. This gainer the past three months has helped me gain ten pounds at two scoops a day for five days per week with some low intense strength training. The vanilla flavour tastes great. I look forward to tasting the other flavours.

My only beef with this product is the price, but I wouldn't subtract a start for it, because it works. Went from 140lb (+/- 2-3lb) to a solid 154lb (also +/- 2-3lb) in a matter of 3-4 months. I work full time, almost no time to eat properly, so this great tasting shake was a savior. I also trained brazilian jiu jitsu for 2 years, 2-3 times a week, and the caloric burn during 1 rolling session was insane. So imagine calories burnt during the training, during the day, including a few hundred calorie intakes in terms of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and I was still able to gain 14lb? I love this product. P.S. I was taking only 1 scoop (instead of recommended 2) with 15oz of whole milk and only 3 times a week!!!

As a first year medical student who never really learned how to cook during college, I found myself skipping meals to divert time from cooking toward studying. I'm currently using ON's Mass Gainer as a meal replacement rather than.. well, a mass gainer. One "serving" (two scoops) and you've met your daily nutritional needs for most vitamins and minerals; when mixed with two cups of whole milk, you've just added another 300 calories with some healthy fats and another 16 grams of protein. Its also got some ingredients of other fairly common dietary supplements included such as creatine, choline, and inositol to help with energy throughout the day. The only gripe I really have with this product in terms of nutrition is the excessive amount of maltodextrin. While it technically is a complex carbohydrate, it yields a glycemic index fairly close to that of pure glucose. I put "serving" in quotations because two whole scoops of this stuff, even when mixed with water, is just too much in one sitting for me. I typically have three scoops throughout the day as an incredibly convenient meal replacement saving crucial time to study and ensure that I'm never late for class. The chocolate taste was great to start off with, but after about 30 some pounds of this stuff, it does start to get a bit old. Adding a banana, peanut butter, coffee/espresso, even strawberry milk help give a little variety. I guess it does mix fairly well with minimal clumping, but powdered foods are never really clump free. I use a shaker bottle with a mesh insert that I've found to suit my needs, but others might prefer a blender, especially if adding other ingredients. All in all, its cost effective, time-saving, nutritious, and tastes good enough for me.

I was 35 years old 6' tall at 111lbs, I was like that since i was a teen struggling to gain weight. I went to doctors and nutritionist to find a way to gain, but they all said it was genetics and I had a poor diet and a high body metabolism. Though I worked on my diet and brought it up to standard I still did not gain anything much (1lb to 2lbs on and off). I tried other products from Universal, HealthyNfit, etc... nothing worked. So I came across this product Serious Mass from Optimum Nutrition. So I tried it, at first I was using half serving per day with whole milk and wasn't gaining much at all or seeing any significant difference. So I opted to 1 full serving per day, after 19 12lb bags and a 3 days per week, 1hr per day workout (weight lifting, short reps high weights) I moved from 111lbs to 186lbs (some days I skipped my shake, due to my hectic work schedule). I stopped the product and gym for about 6 months due to a shoulder injury. I went down to 157lbs where I remain to date. Be aware it can mess with your mood for some people for about 2hrs after consuming. It is important to see a doctor before using this product. I must say it really worked. It boosted my self confidence A LOT and even made me look very young as well!! ;)

I just have to start off by saying wow! I have always had trouble with putting on weight and never could do it, until I purchased this. I went from 127 to 143 within a month and a half and I feel healthier than ever. The best way to get this product to efficiently work for you is to have it after you have your meals. You will feel bloaded after having this but that is just something you will have to deal with because it is worth it. I have one scoop after i eat breakfast and one scoop at night after my workout. Purchase this prouduct if you are looking to put on mass because it is cheaper than other protein shake brands and comes with much greater results!

Being a college student it's hard to choke down a substantial amount of calories for putting on weight. If you use this stuff consistently there is no way you won't gain weight. One serving size is 2 scoops but I don't know if anyone could handle that unless you're some kind of Spartan or Viking. I mix one scoop with almost half a gallon of whole milk before bed. You do the numbers, that's about 1,500 calories. Effective? Definitely. Farts deadly enough to accidentally take down a family of four? You guessed it. But hey, that's probably just the milk talking. Do not ever risk spilling this stuff. Just getting some on your fingers makes them feel like you just used tacky glue. I strongly advise using a blender. You can mix it in a shaker, but only if you put in 1/2 a scoop and even then it's gonna be chunky. And fat chance pouring that huge scooper into your bottle. If you get the 12 lb bag like I did, be prepared to hunt for the scooper. If it's on top when you get it, dance like you just won the lottery because it took me 15 minutes to dig and pull that thing out. So far so good, not perfect, but just what I was expecting.

I went from 160 to 180 from just the 6lb tub. I have been trying different shakes all my life and none of them have given me the results I wanted. This one however gave me results really quickly. Definitely use this to add calories to your meals. Please make sure you work out during the day because if you dont you will just become fat. Inhave had many protein shakes before and they ALL have tasted horrible but this one tastes just like chocolate milk. For those saying it doesnt blend well, you have to either split your servings and/use a blender. I split my servings and I shake for about 3-5 minutes and that gets rid of the clumps. One scoop is huge so naturally its going to be hard to blend but you have to keep shaking. Once it's blended it tastes like a smooth glass of chocolate milk.

I did this as an experiment to see if this would work. To my surprise it worked, but. I didn't use it to its full potential😢. I'm a very skinny short(5'6)dude who just doesn't like to eat(I can't figure out why). I barley ate around 1000- 2000 per day with the help of MyFitnessPal. I ended up with a minimum weight of 120.There were lots of things i did to ensure i could gain weight with Serious Mass. The "trick"that I used was applying 4-6 Tbs of peanut butter and 3-4 cups of milk(any if fine higher calorie milk is ovbously better) my total 90% of the time was 2300+ calories!!(100g of protein, 330g of carbs,70g of fat). One mistake that i learned was trying to drink it all in one go;this either made me want to throw up everything or immediately pass out and take 3 hour long naps😂. Another huge mistake about drinking this shake everyday was that my body couldn't eat real food. I was so full for the who day that food made me feel nauseas. I changed the game a bit and decided to drink my "shake"(40+oz of liquid since i had to blend all of it) every 2-3 hours. This method really worked in the end. IN CONCLUSION(since this is taking too long) I've only gained about 12-15 pounds in one month. Im also sure 20%of my weight was on my stomach since it would make me look bloated due to my weak lactose tolerance. P.S. I did work out heavily and i still do (i only have a barbell with 50lbs on it) I did upper and lower body workouts. I think I've gained those "newbie gains" hard. So im sure some of the weight is just normal muscle weight. Anyways hope this helps people 5 stars for sure!!

I started taking this supplement soon after I graduated high school and was starting to workout regularly. At the time I was 6' 130 pounds (extremely skinny, I know) and had always had a hard time gaining weight, primarily due to because it was hard for me to get more calories than my body was burning off. When I first started taking this supplement, I was easily gaining about 3-5 pounds a month. I was working out 4-6 days a week and most of the weight I gained was most likely fat, but I was still getting stronger every week. Every serving has over 200g of carbs, which is a crazy amount of carbs, so it gave me plenty of energy that fueled my workouts. Fast forward 2 years, I went from 130 pounds to 180 pounds and sitting at about 18% body fat. Being a college student at the time and also working part time, it was sometimes hard to cook and eat my regular meals, so this was nice because I could just blend this together with some fruit and peanut butter and bring it with my to school or work in a cup. This protein is really thick compared to most regular protein such as whey, mainly because it's over 1000 calories per serving. I know the first couple of weeks I started drinking this protein it was hard to get it down simply because it was so many calories, but eventually I was able to gulp it down like I gulp down water. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has trouble gaining weight or just simply wanting to bulk. I also recommend that you do some form of workout while taking this as to limit the amount of fat you'll be adding on.

Really helps get me through those long days at the gym!
