Life was not always this way. Sure, you wake up every day wishing for a bit more sleep. You wonder if the day will be much different than the day before. Usually it all just blends in together, like adding cream to a soup. My mind wanders. It was a Tuesday, like any other. I was nursing a hangover and working on my prep list before our inevitable hell-hole of a lunch rush. If there are two things most people know about is this: My fear of commitment and my distaste for candy. That was until I saw the brown package. We get packages all the time. This one felt special. James, my co-worker, ripped the box open exclaiming he was trying a new brand of gummy bears, and I immediately lost interest. "Candy? Jesus.." I moved back into my ebb and flow. Meanwhile, looking over at my co-workers reaching their hands deep into this 5lb bag of gummy bears like it was kettle corn at a state fair. I resisted. I'll admit it. I was proud. Too proud. I waited so no one would see me, slipped my hand into the bag and pulled out four colorful, gummy bears. With one motion, I popped them all in my mouth and begin to chew with the expectation of mediocrity. Only this... this was something different. Everything was changing -- my world, turning on its head. At first I was angry. "It can't be! It's candy! You don't like candy!" But alas, my heart grew softer. Something inside me began to change. Bursts of real fruit flavor. Incredible mouth-feel. Pleasant after-taste. It was this day that everything changed, and I am a better man for it.

5lbs of gummy bears !!! 5lbs of gummy bears !!! 5lbs of gummy bears!!! Great until youth group found out I had them. Now my wife is making me share. :( Great flavor and texture. Will be buying again this time not telling my wife. PS don't tell her.

Omg so good

Get yourself a bag and enjoy seriously. if you're in doubt get a small bag. but I guarantee you after you get that small bag you're going to want this Big 5 lb bag. I had my mother visit me the other day and she ate a pound of them literally a pound I was worried. But every single one of these flavors is amazing I love the texture of the gummy bear. it's not hard like those HARIBO are it's a very pleasant and soft texture the only thing is after you're done eating make sure you squeeze the air out of the bag every time. if you don't they will dry out and you will have a bad time. this should be obvious to most people but just in case well don't just continue reading these reviews go enjoy your back I personally after buying these and the gummy worms have purchased a gummy rattlesnake from the company. Best Gummi Bears EVER!

My teenage son discovered these at Walmart somehow, while back east at school. He came home for summer, and had my other son and I try these, and OMG!! They are the BOMB! They actually taste like the flavor they are supposed to taste like (e.g. grape tastes like grape, etc). They are kind of like Jelly Belly's are to regular jelly beans (except without the disgusting flavors like popcorn). I buy them every once in a while on Amazon now and as soon as the bag is opened, everyone in the house can smell them and come running. Seriously! You will not be able to hide these for yourself. The 5 lb bag made a great gift at Christmas for my office too. Everyone was raving about them.

Goldilocks and The Three Brands of Gummy Bears

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks, who loved Gummy Bears. One day, she went shopping for them on Amazon, and found three different kinds! Being a glutton, she ordered them all. The first to arrive (thanks to her Amazon Prime membership!) were the Haribo Bears. She greedily shoveled a handful into her mouth and began chewing. "Ow!" she exclaimed, as several of her teeth chipped. "These bears are too hard!" She decided to give the remaining Haribo bears to her evil step-mother, whom she hated. The second to arrive were the Black Forest Bears. Gingerly rubbing her still-sore jaw, she shoveled a handful into her mouth and began chewing. "Meh," she said. "These bears are OK, but I've had better." She decided to give the remaining Black Forest Bears to her little sister, whom she did not like. The last to arrive were the Albanese Bears. "Here goes nothing," she said, as she shoveled a handful into her mouth and began chewing. Her eyes widened, and she immediately followed that handful with another. And then another. "Oh. My. God." she said, around a mouth full of bears. "Where have these been all my life? They are the sweetest, softest, tastiest gummy treats I've ever had! These bears are just right!" Just then, there was a knock at the door, and her step mother and sister barged in. "We can hear you slurping down those Albanese 12 Flavor Gummy Bears from clear across the street! They must be pretty good. Will you share with us?" Goldilocks laughed. "But stepmother, you have no teeth to eat with, because the Haribo bears chipped them to pieces. And sister...well, I just plain don't like you, so I'm not sharing." It didn't even matter that the bag wasn't resealable, because Goldilocks finished the five pound bag of bears right in front of them, and they wept. The End~

100% Delicious!

So it turns out I probably should not eat 5lbs of gummy bears. That was a mistake. But, regardless of my own idiocy, I find it hard to believe there are better gummy bears available. Or gummy anything-else. The bear shape really isn't that important, I guess. Anyhoo, there legit are 12 flavors, and they are all distinctly different, but if you are like me and put a handful in your stupid mouth at once, they kinda just taste like generic sugary deliciousness that you will feel bad about tomorrow. Personally, I like to take a handful, drop them on the table, and spread them out into each different color/flavor. Then, as I'm doing whatever I'm doing, I'll eat one from this flavor, one from that flavor, one from another, and so on. They really do all have unique flavors. I think my favorite is the pineapple, very closely competitive with the cherry. Anyway, if you need 5lbs of gummy bears, these are the ones to get!

Better than the bag in the grocery store

I'm a fan of gummy bears. Normally I buy Black Forest by the large bag. I got tired of the mundane flavors. It's a constant red, lemon, green apple, orange repeat. I saw Albanese at a store, came home, read the reviews and ordered them. As promised, I got them in 2 days. I was home when they came so they didn't sit outside in the sun. The bag is huge! double the amount or more of the Black Forest. I was surprised how fresh the Albanese gummy bears are. They are a little larger than the Black Forest, and more shiny. Best of all!!! No more mundane flavors! Blueberry, pineapple, mango, etc. The grapefruit flavor is a little off. It's blech. But the other flavors are delicious. I didn't find them ungodly sweet, but I can't eat them by the thousands. They are so different to my mouth and not boring at all. I'll be buying these instead of my regular bag of Black Forest. Sorry, these are better. Only issue is, there's no zip closure ont eh bag, which was alleviated by putting them into a large Ikea zip plastic bag. Problem solved.

"WARNING" !!

These bears are as addicting as heroin or tobacco , but far better for you-That is , IF you can control your intake............Ate 3 lbs. in the first 4 days , I am now in gummy rehab & can only have 20 bears per day . Be careful as it is far to easy to become a "gummy junkie"

MUST be eaten by the fistful!

These are in fact the worlds best gummy bears! I know this because I have been out of the country a few times, mostly Europe, but I always buy gummies when I travel. The thing is, they are just the right amount of sweet and sour. They are a perfect balance. Seriously. Balance. And the real point of writing this review is to stress the balance. If you are one of those people who eat the gummies one at a time, ( just grabbing the next one and eating it) then you just keep doing you. I mean, you will never experience the “balance” of flavors, but apparently that’s not important to you. If you are one of those people who pick out certain colors of gummy, only to leave other colors abandoned at the bottom of the candy dish, well I just pity you. And anyone you share the candy dish with. But if you know that the appropriate way to consume gummy bears, is to grab a small fistful, and crane at least 5 bears at a time into your mouth, then you will truly appreciate the Albanese gummy bears. Especially a 5 lb bag. Each mouthful is a burst of gummy flavor. Sweet, chewy yet soft, and never exactly the same. My mouth starts to water in anticipation. I just can’t seem to stop eating them. I need to carefully ration them. I put them in 1 pint containers that come with takeout food. I leave one container near my desk or in my kitchen, and stash the rest of the bag away. That way, I never eat too many at a time. A pint is a lot. I never finish a pint in one sitting. But I gauge my binge by the emptiness of the container. I probably shouldn’t even buy them. But I just can’t stop. So if you eat them one at a time, you are missing out on the awesomeness of these gummy bears. And if you avoid certain flavors, then you are shameful. And if you are a vegetarian, then I’m sad for you, because these gummy bears contain gelatin from pigs. But if you are a meat eater who throws back gummy bears by the fistful, then these are the gummy bears for you! Order up a 5lb bag. And enjoy.
