This is a very versatile mic stand that can be used in many ways. The main support post telescopes from about 28" to about 54". But it does become less sturdy when expanded to full length. The best part is that the boom is attached to a part that can slide up and down the upper portion of the main post, unlike many other stands where the boom can only be positioned at the very top of the pole. You can also remove the boom entirely and just use the main pole to hold your mic as it has threads at the top of it. It came with two mike clips. One is pretty standard and the other is an adjustable pinch type and will fit many sizes. At first I found them hard to screw onto the threads and thought they might be the wrong size. Be careful not to force it as you might strip the threads. After getting them to screw on a couple of times, they now screw on easily. They have an adapter which lets them attach to the smaller diameter connectors on this stand. You can remove the adapter and use them other stands which have a larger diameter connector. The tripod legs seem very stable but the stand itself is fairly lightweight. That works very well for me, but might not for others. This is so flexible that you can use it in many ways. I think it's a great bargain. Much more versatile and can be made smaller than my other stand. I should add that for some reason this took three days to deliver using Amazon Prime while other items in my order arrived in two days. Update: Nov. 29. 2017: This stand also works well as a smartphone holder if you want to make a video. You can use the pinch style mic clip to hold your smartphone steady. This is a real added bonus.

Lightweight and metal...

This is a nice lightweight stand, remember this isn't a heavy-duty stand, but it's metal and looks nice... When you adjust the knobs to tighten, don't crank it so hard and fast, as you might break the plastic, easy does it... Holds mic well, I am happy with it...

Sturdy! Great Value for the price!

This mic stand was just what we needed. Originally purchased to get us through one event so we were not expecting much for the price. But I am pleasantly surprised at the sturdy quality and believe we will get much more use out if it than originally anticipated!

Tension screw broke

This is pretty disappointing, because the tension screw broke, just after a few uses. I knew it was made of plastic, and was careful with it, not to over tighten it, but it broke anyway. I'm not sure if I can even use this for something else, other than a mic stand, but I only give this two stars. Update: I thought I'd write an update on this. Ohuhu has contacted me, and sent me a replacement. They were very kind and understanding, and sent out a new stand, which works very well. Thank you Ohuhu for contacting me, and getting this matter taken care of. I have upped my previous two star rating up to five.

I am very very surprised how sturdy this product is

I am very very surprised how sturdy this product is. Especially for the price. I have both wireless and cable microphones and as it comes with two different handles, i can use either. Absolutely loving it and feeling like a real singer

Amazing and works with blue snowball.

Very good mic stand and I will definetely be using it a lot, and for those who are wondering, yes it works with the blue snowball USB microphone. If you take out one of the bottom pieces of the other stand parts that come with it, it fits inside of the blue snowball which then connects to the stand. This is a very good microphone stand and I definetely recommend it.

This stand is perfect - I needed something which I can set up ...

This stand is perfect - I needed something which I can set up readily and just put up temporarily. The previous mike stand was really old and heavy. This one is lightweight so I am able to move it without a problem and it is super easy to fold up and put away when not in use. I highly recommend.

PERFECT for ME !

In my opinion, this is a very sturdy stand for my use, at home. I can position it to fit very well, in the small space I have, and when our toddler granddaughter is here, I just make sure it is put away, so she can't damage it. It's probably not something you want your children to clown around with, and it's not the kind you can get fancy with, like lead singers do in bands. After reading some of the bad reviews, I decided to give it a chance, anyway, and I and I am SO VERY GLAD I DID ! I had NO problem putting it together, and it has held my microphone in place. As with anything where you are tightening a screwed on piece you shouldn't OVER tighten it. You can tighten it just right, and it will hold your microphone right where you want it. I particularly like the wide spread bottom legs___it keeps it stable___won't fall over. Would I recommend it to someone___I CERTAINLY WOULD. Just be sensible when putting it together, and don't let kids play with it ! If they use it, set down rules so they DON'T break it after a few uses. It is a very good stand.

Excellent value; highly recommend

For the price, this microphone is perfect. No, it's not the highest quality of all time (you can feel that it's very light-weight and you have to be careful to arrange it in a way that it doesn't tip over), but I mean, c'mon, it's less than $20! For less than $20, I'm completely happy with a mic stand that sometimes feels light-weight. I've had it for a little over a month and it's worked perfectly. SOOOOOO much better than my previous mic stand. I totally recommend this mic stand. It's been great.
