Sturdy, steady portable raised toilet seat in frame

After hip replacement twelve days ago, I am so happy that I chose the PCP raised seat with safety frame. Right out of the box, I clicked the leg extensions on and put it in my small utility bathroom. It fits perfectly. I have taped a rolled towel on the lip of the original seat so that I can (sort of) comfortably lean back a bit to avoid the 90 degree limit for my new joint advised by my orthopedic surgeon. After reading 100’s of reviews on other brands and types, I decided that the PCP might be best for me. I have set it up over my standard oval bowl and have also tried it with a comfort height long bowl. Both work equally well. It is easily adjusted to any height. At 5’7”, Setting the back legs on notch 3 and front legs on notch 2 is good for me. The highest notch (5) would be suitable for a very tall person. I measured my bowl opening at 10 1/2” x 13”. The PCP is 8 3/4” x 9 3/4”. The splash shield extends 6 1/2” down into the bowl and completely encircles the bowl . EXCELLENT! NO SPLASH or leaking anywhere. (I checked with a black light) This unit is very stable and safe. I love that one reviewer said she also used it as a light, portable shower seat. Great! I thought of her when I needed to make a lengthy phone call. I grabbed the PCP from the bathroom and gratefully sat down at proper height to use the kitchen wall phone. In comparing with with the attached models that require removing the toilet seat and lid and and then (ugh) bolting directly to the base, or the ones that attach to the front lip of the bowl.....not for me. What guest is going to want to walk into a bathroom with a semipermanent raised seat on the toilet? As to the attached raised toilet seats, there are endless complaints about scary instability, movement of seat on the bowl, leaking out the front, unsatisfactory for grown men to use, etc..... Shortcomings as I see it of PCP: (1) one leg seemed shorter on mine. I am no engineer so I used a little piece of 1x2” and slipped under that foot to level the unit. Since then, I just adjusted the length of that one leg to a different notch. Works fine! Yes, the PCP is more expensive than some, but I would NEVER return this multipurpose seat. It is so portable and easy to take right out if the bathroom and put in a closet if you have company...or take in the car when you go visit family. Trust me!!! The newer “comfort height” toilets are not tall enough to substitute for this raised seat with frame. (2) 17” span between the frame handles might be a bit narrow for a larger person. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone would design a safe, adjustable frame for larger body type?...or better yet! have the PCP available in 2 sizes. I think that is a great idea... (3) many reviews complained about raised toilets being very restrictive because of the smaller size of bowl opening. All are smaller but I did get used to it. It is certainly a common issue that could be addressed by all manufacturers. Oh yes, the “wiping” issue. No way to really wipe sitting on a raised seat...it seems foreign but just stand up and wipe. Flush toilet tissue in the toilet and then follow up with “Costco Baby Wipes” (NO flushing) and put in a little wastebasket to dump later. I even use a Costco wipe to swipe over the seat and splash guard to keep everything tidy.

Great small/tight space safety frame and shower seat

Excellent size safety frame for a small, tight space. We had difficulty using this seat for a male to stand in front of and not wet the toilet seat...wish it had been a little more elongated. However it worked great when needed for sitting on the toilet. We ended up using this mainly in the shower as a shower seat after we removed the splash guard. With the hole in the seat, it made cleaning the person's bottom much easier with a handheld shower head. Was most comfortable to seat on when the front legs were set lower than the back legs so the seat tipped slightly lower towards the front.

Best Ever Toliet Seat

This is my third purchase for this type of product. I purchased this for my sister who says this is the easier raised toilet seat to get up and is steady enough she doesn't have to worry about falling. A+ for our family.

Added independence with the toilet seat.

The toilet seat enabled my husband to rise by himself on the lower seated toilet because of the side handles. The cold sides needed to be covered because he was not used to the sides touching him, and easy thing to do. It is easily removed and stored when guests come and use the second bathroom, and added feature.

Ease of use, durable and safer than clip on raised toilet seats.

After having my right hip replaced this product was excellent! Sturdy, well built and fits well over our elongated bowls. I would encourage anyone to purchase this seat. I am 6’2 and weigh 235 and have NO problems with using the seat. It came fully assembled and all I had to do was extend the legs and place it over the bowl. I lengthened the back legs for additional use and comfort. This is easily accomplished by just adjusting the back legs by extending the self locking pins by one additional space! Great product easy to use and to keep sanitary!

A life saver after surgery.

OMG....I am so happy I purchased this toilet seat! I had both knees replaced several months apart and for months was not able to go sit to stand without pushing off. This seat is very sturdy and gave me the assistance I needed to successfully use the toilet. It is comfortable and is at a right height. My husband would occasionally use my bathroom and it was no problem picking the chair up and moving it to use the toilet.

It is very hard to please my father, we returned his first chair and I had excepted to return this one. he loves it, it is very difficult ageing--He is doing so well with this chair. It is build tough, the seat come way over bar so his legs are in a safe place. We received it quickly thanks

Perfect

This is perfect for my elderly mother who has bone cancer and has trouble lifting herself up from lower seats like toilets and recliners. She has more self-reliance and freedom now, and we're grateful for this product. Sturdy and well made, no problems and highly recommended!

The product cAme as described. The product was completely assembled and did not have nay loose bolts. The adjustable height feature is easy and convenient. The toilet and it s handles are sturdy and it stays in place when need -very important. Although a little extra money then some-this is a very important product to have -i have total knee replacement and it has proved invaluable. Will buy from this seller again

fantastic for elderly

My parent needed help with a low toilet, as she was having a hard time getting up and down. This product came entirely in one piece (no assembly needed) straight to my door. You simply open the box and place it over the toilet. It is now easy for her to get up and down and the handles give her the support she needed. best buy for the elderly who need extra help! It is strong enough to give support and she is happy with it
